"What happened? My child!"
They saw a woman crying in deep distress, presumably the child's mother. Wang Niu furrowed his brow, noticing that the child remained unresponsive. He then infused the child with a trace of celestial energy. Instantly, the child revived.
"Look, my child is alive!" The woman's face lit up with joy. Wang Niu and Feng Ju felt relieved and stepped outside.
"Wang Jun, what should we do next?" Wang Niu pondered for a moment and said to Feng Ju, "We need to return to the cave and capture the person behind this. Only then can we stop everything."
After speaking, they made their way back to the graveyard, which had transformed; a faint green light enveloped the area, leaving Wang Niu stunned.
"It seems like the magnetic field has changed here," Feng Ju remarked to Wang Niu. He nodded in agreement; indeed, everything felt different.
"We should hide; I sense someone might be coming out," Wang Niu said gravely as he scanned their surroundings. Feng Ju nodded, and they found a secluded spot.
Just as they reached that place, suddenly, the tombstone began to slowly open. Wang Niu was taken aback, unable to believe his eyes as a stranger emerged from within.
"What is going on?" Wang Niu asked Feng Ju, who also seemed puzzled. Could this man be behind everything?
"Feng Ju, let's split up. I'll chase after that man; you stay here and keep watch, alright?" Wang Niu instructed. Feng Ju nodded, and Wang Niu followed the man closely.
The man moved quickly, leaving Wang Niu astonished; in an instant, he realized this man was not normal—his feet were always on tiptoe.
"What is happening?" Wang Niu followed the man into a small town. Upon entering, he sensed something was off; this town was filled with Yin Qi!
Looking around, he noticed what seemed to be a formation hidden in the center of the town. He approached a corner where a faint green light flickered. As he reached out his hand, black mist began to swirl around it—these formations were connected to the man!
Wang Niu intended to dispel the formation but hesitated for fear of alerting anyone nearby and instead moved to explore other corners where similar formations were concealed. His expression grew increasingly serious.
He continued to follow the man until he saw him enter a house that was also saturated with Yin Qi. "What is going on?" Just then, a woman emerged from inside; she appeared to be allied with the man he was pursuing! However, Wang Niu sensed nothing unusual about her at first glance.
The woman seemed intent on going somewhere, piquing Wang Niu's curiosity as he decided to follow her into a forest shrouded in black mist. His gaze remained fixed on her; she appeared to be waiting for someone.
After some time, he heard footsteps approaching, causing his heart to race with unease. The moon above took on an eerie brightness as he instinctively looked up at it.
"Beautiful lady!" A male voice called out, drawing Wang Niu's attention immediately.
He turned around just in time to see two men appear before him. "Beautiful lady!" Their expressions were strange, as if they were entranced.
Upon seeing them, the woman's face brightened instantly, making Wang Niu's heart skip a beat as he realized she was engaging in something inappropriate with them—a shocking sight that left him stunned!
In no time at all, those two men aged rapidly before his eyes! This revelation weighed heavily on Wang Niu's heart; who was this woman with such power?
As confusion swirled within him, he suddenly noticed a shadow nearby—it resembled that of a fox! Could this person be...? Realization dawned upon him.
Moments later, as if understanding something profound, Wang Niu directed his energy towards the woman. In an instant, light emanated from his hand and struck her directly. After a brief pause, she lay motionless on the ground—Wang Niu was taken aback!
"You... who are you?" Although she couldn't move, she could still speak! As she spoke, her body began to stir slightly.
To his astonishment, she transformed into a fox before his eyes! "Are you human or demon?" Wang Niu squinted as a sword materialized in his hand.
The woman stared at the sword in disbelief. "Why do you have that sword? Are you... the Heavenly Emperor?"
Wang Niu felt a surge of surprise at her words—how did she know? Sensing his confusion, she said: "I know why you're here; I can help you kill that man!"
"Weren't you working with him?" Wang Niu asked curiously.
She shook her head; hatred flickered across her face. This surprised him—what had happened?
"Did you see my fox tail earlier?" she asked.
Wang Niu nodded slowly as she turned away from him for just an instant—he caught sight of her nine-tailed fox form! "Do you know that my nine-tailed fox is not my original form?" Her voice was filled with sorrow.
This revelation struck Wang Niu deeply; he had found her transformation peculiar earlier but had no idea it ran so deep.
"What's going on here?" he asked her.
Then he watched as she removed her nine-tailed fox from behind her! "What are you doing?"
As she spoke those words, black mist erupted from her body—Wang Niu's expression changed drastically; if this mist continued to pour out, she would die!
"Are you crazy?" He quickly pulled back the black mist enveloping her; though half-demon and half-human now merged within her being!
"I don't want this nine-tailed fox; do you understand? This nine-tailed fox belongs to him!" She seemed overwhelmed with emotion.
Wang Niu sensed something significant in her words: "So you're saying that man forced part of his woman's essence into you?"
Tears streamed down her face as she felt wronged by what had transpired.
Wang Niu regarded her thoughtfully; after crying for a moment longer, she continued: "When he gave me his essence, I refused him—but he said I would die if I didn't comply. Before I could decide otherwise, he'd already given me the essence of the nine-tailed fox!"
As he listened to her story unfold in front of him like pieces of a puzzle coming together in his mind—was it possible that this man's gathering of children was meant to restore the life of the nine-tailed fox?
"Do you know any weaknesses of that man?"
The woman paused at his question before suddenly recalling something important: "I know! His true form is that of a snake!"
With this revelation from her lips came clarity for Wang Niu.
"And anything else?"
She thought for a moment before saying: "He often visits a place called Red Lotus Pavilion! The girls there are his prey; during those times he's at his weakest—you can strike then!"
Wang Niu committed her words to memory and released her from confinement.
"I initially intended to help you rid yourself of your nine-tailed fox essence but doing so now would raise suspicion from him—so bear with it for now."
Understanding his intent clearly now, she replied: "I understand! But be careful; even though you're the Heavenly Emperor, don't underestimate him!"
Wang Niu nodded as she returned to that small house.
The next morning, when the man opened the door seemingly headed somewhere important—Wang Niu recalled what the woman had told him and followed closely behind.
It was daytime now; could it be that this man couldn't control himself any longer?
Cautiously tailing him through town while remaining alert—after all that had transpired could not be taken lightly!
Before long they arrived at Red Lotus Pavilion just as she'd described—but oddly enough it remained closed!
The man knocked on the door and moments later another man emerged—a sight that sent alarm bells ringing in Wang Niu's mind!
He observed intently as this other man greeted their visitor warmly: "You’ve arrived!"
After exchanging pleasantries between them inside—the door closed behind them just as Wang Niu attempted entry but found himself blocked by an unseen force!
Stunned by this barrier surrounding him—he glanced around feeling puzzled by its strange magnetic field!
Trying again only resulted in being pushed back once more—frustration mounting within him since without access how could he uncover what they were plotting?
"I'll help you get inside!" Suddenly appearing before him was the woman from before—a surprise that left him speechless!
"What are you doing here?"
"I knew you'd have trouble getting in so I came to assist!" She smiled brightly at him.
Feeling somewhat embarrassed by this turn of events—Wang Niu prepared himself for whatever lay ahead!
