"Hello there, Bai Yu," Ugly Woman said, her face filled with surprise at his words.
Bai Yu scoffed and replied, "What if I do? Enough talk, let's fight."
Ugly Woman's expression twisted into a snarl as a sword formed from black mist appeared in her hand. Wang Niu felt a jolt of fear; the power of that dark sword was no less than Bai Yu's own strength. If Bai Yu wasn't careful, he could get hurt by that weapon.
"You need to be careful. If it comes to it, I'll step in," Wang Niu said, worry etched on his face.
Bai Yu turned to Wang Niu and asked, "Are you worried about me?"
Wang Niu paused for a moment before nodding and saying, "I guess so."
Bai Yu smiled and pulled Wang Niu behind him. "You don't need to worry. That Ugly Woman's sword may be powerful, but I'm strong too. You have to believe in me."
With that, a confident smile spread across Bai Yu's face.
Wang Niu felt his anxiety ease a bit as Ugly Woman's expression grew increasingly grim.
"What are you two talking about? Hurry up and fight me!" she shouted.
With that, Ugly Woman lunged at Bai Yu with her sword. Bai Yu smirked and charged toward her as well. Just as the sword was about to reach him, Bai Yu destroyed it with a swift motion.
Ugly Woman stumbled back in shock. "You... I didn't expect your energy to increase so much all at once."
Bai Yu's lips curled slightly as he said to the Ugly Woman, "If it weren't for your father's sake, I would have killed you by now."
Upon hearing this, the Ugly Woman's face filled with disdain as she replied to the Nasty Woman, "Oh really? Then come at me."
In an instant, a massive beam of light appeared in the Nasty Woman's hand. Wang Niu's heart skipped a beat; this was a devastating attack, and if it accidentally hit Bai Yu, he would be in serious trouble.
Wang Niu took a deep breath, unable to suppress his concern for Bai Yu. Just then, an idea struck him. He secretly launched an attack at the Ugly Woman, and in the blink of an eye, the Nasty Woman was knocked to the ground by Wang Niu.
"Ah!" The Ugly Woman cried out in pain.
Bai Yu seized the opportunity and charged at the Nasty Woman without hesitation, plunging his sword into the Ugly Woman's body.
As the Ugly Woman screamed, a cold smile spread across Bai Yu's face. "This is what you asked for earlier—let me kill you."
A flicker of regret suddenly crossed the Ugly Woman's face. She shook her head vigorously at Bai Yu, her voice filled with remorse. "No, I was wrong. I shouldn't have said those things to you."
"It's too late now."
With that, a wave of excruciating pain surged through the Ugly Woman, ending her life in an instant.
The last thing she saw was the sky above her as her eyes widened in shock.
Bai Yu took a deep breath and turned to Wang Niu. "See? This woman has already been dealt with."
After Bai Yu finished speaking, the sounds of the frightened monsters echoed behind him, and soon enough, all the monsters fled.
Wang Niu glanced in the direction the monsters had escaped and said to Bai Yu, "Isn't this going to be bad for you? You just killed their lady."
Bai Yu didn't care at all; instead, he clapped his hands and looked at the corpse of the Ugly Woman, saying, "What's the big deal? They're all dead anyway."
Wang Niu forced a smile, and then Bai Yu used his power to make the Ugly Woman's body disappear from the ground.
"Let's go. Didn't you say you were hungry earlier? You shouldn't waste food," Bai Yu said to Wang Niu.
Wang Niu paused for a moment, recalling his unfinished tasks from earlier. His heart sank as he rushed inside. As soon as he entered the kitchen, he caught a whiff of something burnt.
Wang Niu's heart dropped. He turned to Bai Yu and said, "This is bad! I must have taken too long outside; everything is ruined!"
Bai Yu glanced into the pot and saw that the contents were a complete disaster. He said to Wang Niu, "I'll redo it."
With that, Wang Niu emptied the pot and started preparing everything anew.
Just then, an explosion echoed in their ears, startling both Wang Niu and Bai Yu. To their shock, they saw a massive fireball erupting towards them.
"What is happening?"
Wang Niu asked Bai Yu, but when he saw the scene before him, he was instantly stunned. The family of the Ugly Woman, along with their subordinates, rushed over. Wang Niu was taken aback and said to Bai Yu, "Look, these are all from the Ugly Woman's family. If we had just driven her away earlier, we wouldn't be in trouble now."
Bai Yu smiled lightly at Wang Niu and said, "Are you scared?"
Wang Niu shook his head. He had never been afraid; he just didn't want to cause trouble for Bai Yu.
Bai Yu took a deep breath and said to Wang Niu, "Anyway, this matter has nothing to do with you, so you don't need to worry. I killed the Ugly Woman."
As soon as Bai Yu finished speaking, Wang Niu was stunned again and said to Bai Yu, "What do you mean? No matter what, I will stand with you against them."
With that, Wang Niu stood beside Bai Yu in front of the approaching group.
The faces of those people were twisted with malice. Wang Niu looked at them and a meaningful smile appeared on his face.
Suddenly, Old Monster stood up and walked in front of them, his eyes filled with venom. "You are the ones who killed my daughter. You have a lot of nerve! And you, Bai Yu, why did you kill my daughter?"
Upon hearing Old Monster's words, Bai Yu burst into laughter. "Do I even need to answer that? Didn't your woman push me to do it? She brought this upon herself. Amon Master, how can you blame me?"
Old Monster was momentarily stunned by Bai Yu's words. Then his anger deepened as he shouted, "You're talking nonsense! No matter what, I want you to pay for my daughter's life!"
After saying that, terrifying creatures suddenly appeared around Old Monster. Their emergence left both Bai Yu and Wang Niu dumbfounded. Bai Yu's expression turned grave.
"Be careful," Bai Yu whispered to Wang Niu.
Wang Niu was taken aback and his demeanor grew serious.
If he guessed correctly, these creatures were infused with deadly poison.
Wang Niu took a deep breath; he hadn't expected Old Monster to be so ruthless as to use such things against them.
Then the creatures in Old Monster's hands lunged toward them. In an instant, their minds were overwhelmed by the swarm.
The creatures attacked like poisonous bees, targeting their flesh. Several times, Wang Niu narrowly avoided being stung by them.
"Watch out!" Bai Yu suddenly stepped in front of Wang Niu and drove away one of the attacking creatures. Wang Niu glanced over and was nearly frightened out of his wits.
Because of his intervention, Bai Yu accidentally got hit by one of the creatures.
Bai Yu's body began to swell up, and Wang Niu was startled. He asked anxiously, "Are you okay?"
Bai Yu shook her head at Wang Niu. At that moment, something else charged toward Bai Yu. Her attention was fully on Wang Niu, and she didn't notice the danger approaching from behind. Wang Niu's heart raced as he shouted urgently, "Watch out!"
Bai Yu remained oblivious, and Wang Niu quickly wrapped his arms around her, flipping her out of harm's way. In an instant, the terrifying creature struck Wang Niu instead, a wave of pain crashing over him.
Wang Niu's face contorted in agony.
It was then that Bai Yu noticed something was wrong with Wang Niu. Her heart sank as she realized what had happened. She reached out and directed her energy toward the creature that had been targeting Wang Niu. Suddenly, the creature exploded, releasing a massive surge of energy into the air.
This tremendous energy surged toward Wang Niu, and to his surprise, his complexion improved significantly.
Bai Yu was momentarily stunned, as if recalling something important. She quickly detonated more of the creatures, causing their energy to flood into Wang Niu. Meanwhile, Old Monster's expression darkened as he glared at Bai Yu and snarled, "I didn't expect you to be such a ruthless woman."
Then Old Monster unleashed an attack on Bai Yu. A massive black mist surged toward them like a fishing net. Bai Yu's expression shifted to one of concern as she summoned her own power to counter the net.
In an instant, their two forces collided, generating a tremendous shockwave that sent both Bai Yu and Old Monster reeling in opposite directions.
Simultaneously, they both spat out blood.
At that moment, Wang Niu gradually absorbed the energy released by the monsters and restored his previous physical state. He stood up and saw Bai Yu lying on the ground, her face pale. He wanted to lift her up, but she stopped him.
"Don't save me just yet," Bai Yu suddenly pointed to a spot not far away.
Wang Niu paused for a moment. Was Bai Yu hinting that he should eliminate Old Monster first?
In an instant, Wang Niu soared into the air and charged at Old Monster. Within moments, he unleashed his energy upon Old Monster, defeating him.
As Old Monster's body began to fade away, Wang Niu thought he was disappearing completely. However, as it vanished, a shining inner core appeared before him. Wang Niu was taken aback when he heard Bai Yu's voice urging him, "Quick! Eat that inner core!"
Wang Niu suddenly jolted, jumping up as he swallowed the inner core from Old Monster's body.
In an instant, Wang Niu felt something strange happen; his body began to swell dramatically, like a balloon filled to the brim with air.
A flicker of joy crossed Wang Niu's mind, but he wondered if this was some kind of side effect. Bai Yu furrowed his brow as he observed the scene and said to Wang Niu, "Don't worry, this is normal."
Just as Bai Yu finished speaking, Wang Niu's appearance became even more bizarre; his entire body turned black.
Unable to contain himself any longer, Bai Yu rushed towards Wang Niu and pulled him down. His gaze fixed on Wang Niu's abdomen, which was noticeably distended.
Bai Yu gently pressed on Wang Niu's belly, causing him to cry out in pain, his face turning pale.
This made Bai Yu frown; it seemed that there was toxic gas inside Wang Niu. To restore him to his original color, they needed to expel the toxins.
Bai Yu frowned and said to Wang Niu, "Just hold on for a moment."
With that, Bai Yu took out a knife and made an incision on Wang Niu's abdomen.
Wang Niu's face immediately contorted in pain. Seeing this, Bai Yu's expression was filled with concern. "Just bear with it; I only need to help you get rid of the toxins."
Wang Niu nodded through gritted teeth. At that moment, Bai Yu began to work, extracting the black mist from Wang Niu's belly. In an instant, it was as if the air had been let out of a deflated balloon.
Wang Niu took a deep breath; at that moment, beads of sweat broke out all over his body. This made his heart race with anxiety—if this didn’t end soon, he feared he might collapse.
"What’s wrong with you?" Bai Yu exclaimed, startled by Wang Niu's condition.
Wang Niu endured the pain and nodded at Bai Yu. Then Bai Yu took a deep breath and said to Wang Niu, "Just hold on a little longer."
Bai Yu accelerated, clearing all the dark mist surrounding Wang Niu. Then, using his own power, he tended to Wang Niu's wounds.
"Are you feeling better now?" Bai Yu paused his actions and looked at Wang Niu.
Wang Niu took a deep breath and replied, "Much better."
Seeing Wang Niu's condition, Bai Yu sighed and helped him inside. As Wang Niu looked at the mess around them, he felt a pang of guilt and said to Bai Yu, "I'm sorry for causing you trouble."
Bai Yu remained silent. Wang Niu gazed at him, feeling an indescribable sadness in his heart.
After a while, Bai Yu took the initiative to speak. "Don't think about it too much. I chose to help you willingly; it has nothing to do with you."
With that, Bai Yu led Wang Niu to a tidy area and pointed ahead. "This is where you'll be staying. Someone will bring you food shortly."
Just as Bai Yu was about to leave, Wang Niu stopped him and said, "Bai Yu, I have something to tell you."
Surprised by Wang Niu's words, Bai Yu turned around and asked, "What is it?"
Wang Niu looked at Bai Yu's face, feeling conflicted about whether or not to speak up.
Noticing Wang Niu's troubled expression, Bai Yu smiled lightly and said, "What's wrong?"
Taking a deep breath, as if ready to speak, Wang Niu asked, "Why did you save me?"
"Bai Yu" looked at "Wang Niu" and said, "It's nothing, maybe it's just fate."
"Wang Niu" stared at "Bai Yu" in disbelief, still unwilling to give up. He asked, "Can't you tell me? Or are you 'Ruoxi'?"
"Bai Yu" was taken aback by "Wang Niu's" words. What did he mean by 'Ruoxi'?
He looked at "Wang Niu" with confusion and replied, "I don't know who this 'Ruoxi' is that you're talking about, but I really am not the 'Ruoxi' you mentioned."
"Are you really not?" A wave of disappointment washed over "Wang Niu."
"Bai Yu" nodded seriously at "Wang Niu," saying, "No, you must have mistaken me for someone else."
"Wang Niu's" expression showed some disappointment, but in an instant, he quickly recovered. He said to "Bai Yu," "Alright then, just forget what I said earlier."
"Bai Yu" looked at "Wang Niu" curiously and then asked, "Is this woman named 'Ruoxi' very important to you?"
Upon hearing the name 'Ruoxi,' "Wang Niu's" lips curled into a slight smile as he replied to "Bai Yu," "Very important."
After hearing this, "Bai Yu's" lips also curved slightly as he said, "I see."
Then, "Bai Yu" left.
This left "Wang Niu" feeling quite strange. After a while, he seemed to sense something and decided to leave the room. Just then, footsteps suddenly echoed from outside the door, causing his heart to skip a beat. He quickly halted his steps and cautiously looked towards the door. At that moment, several female monsters approached, carrying trays of prepared dishes.
"Wang Niu" was astonished. He never expected there would be food here. The monsters glanced at him inexplicably before continuing on their way.
Wang Niu looked at the items on the table, feeling quite puzzled. He then walked over and sat down beside it, seriously eating the food. Suddenly, he felt that these items seemed strangely familiar.
He froze for a moment, his mind flashing back to Bai Yu's expression just moments ago.
After only a few bites, Wang Niu could no longer contain his curiosity and decided to go outside to find Bai Yu. However, before he could leave the area, he was stopped by those female monsters. "You can't leave."
Wang Niu looked at the women monsters in confusion and asked, "Where is your master?"
The female monsters stared at Wang Niu curiously and shook their heads. "We don't know; anyway, you can't leave this room."
Wang Niu felt strange about this but couldn't withstand the presence of so many female monsters, so he had no choice but to return to the room.
The next morning, Wang Niu suddenly felt a chill rush towards him, causing his heart to skip a beat. He immediately stood up and opened his eyes to find Bai Yu standing there.
He let out a light sigh of relief and said to Bai Yu, "Why are you here?"
Bai Yu's lips curled into a slight smile as she replied, "Why can't it be me? You men are really strange. Just a few minutes ago, you were saying it was me; now you don't want to see me?"
Upon hearing this, Wang Niu's face turned awkward. He hadn't expected those monsters to discuss such things with Bai Yu.
He forced an embarrassed smile and said to Bai Yu, "Well, I'm fine now."
Bai Yu gazed deeply at Wang Niu and said, "Are you really fine? Because I have something important to tell you."
Upon hearing Bai Yu's words, Wang Niu was momentarily stunned, looking at Bai Yu in confusion as if asking what was going on. Bai Yu took a deep breath and said to Wang Niu, "A few minutes ago, I received a notification that the Demon King wants to choose a guardian for his child. I think you would be a great fit, so I recommended you to the Demon King. You can go over there shortly."
Wang Niu's eyes widened at this, and he exclaimed, "Are you serious?"
Bai Yu nodded at Wang Niu, his expression sincere. This made Wang Niu feel awkward; becoming a guardian for the Demon King's son seemed like an impossible task. Although he had gained some power, he knew it couldn't compare to other monsters. What if he faced a formidable creature? How would he handle it?
Wang Niu took a deep breath, his face reflecting his inner turmoil.
Noticing this, Bai Yu asked, "Are you scared?"
Wang Niu immediately shook his head and replied, "I'm not scared; I'm just thinking about how to earn their trust."
Bai Yu pondered for a moment before asking, "What do you mean by that?"
Wang Niu responded, "Didn't you already know? My friends and my wife have been captured and brought here. Naturally, I want to rescue them."
Bai Yu's face turned awkward at this revelation, and then Ruoxi spoke up, addressing Bai Yu, "Are you really going to take action?"
