The child nodded and explained to them, "This tail is like their tail. As long as you catch their tail, you will find where they live. However, this tail is hard to find."
Ruoxi furrowed her brows and asked the child, "What does this tail look like?"
The child looked at Ruoxi and said, "The tail is like a tail, it's black. Have you ever seen a cat's tail?"
Ruoxi and Wang Niu were momentarily stunned— a cat's tail.
The child nodded at them and continued, "If you want to find the cat's tail, you have to go look in the mountains."
After saying that, the child disappeared.
Wang Niu was suddenly taken aback, recalling how he had wanted to call out to the child but was stopped by Ruoxi.
"Wait, Wang Jun, there's no need to chase after him anymore. You won't catch up; the Guardian of the River is already far away, and he has no obligation to help us."
Wang Niu smiled awkwardly. Ruoxi was right. He looked at Ruoxi and asked, "So what should we do next?"
Ruoxi turned to Wang Niu and said, "Don't worry."
Then she looked at him again. "Actually, Uncle Chen's body can still be saved."
Upon hearing Ruoxi's words, Wang Niu asked eagerly, "What method is that?"
A complex expression returned to Ruoxi's face. After a moment of silence, she finally spoke up, "Do you really want me to save Uncle Chen?"
Wang Niu was taken aback for a moment and instinctively nodded. He couldn't shake the feeling that Ruoxi seemed a bit strange at that moment.
"Alright, I will save him," Ruoxi said with a nod. Then Wang Niu saw strange colors emerging from Ruoxi's body; upon closer inspection, it seemed there were several different hues.
Curiosity bubbled up inside Wang Niu. He wanted to ask Ruoxi about it but hesitated, fearing he might disturb her.
After a while, a faint yellow mist began to emanate from Ruoxi, resembling something like a soul.
Beads of sweat appeared on Ruoxi's forehead, causing Wang Niu's heart to tremble. Could it be that Ruoxi was in danger?
In that moment, Wang Niu wanted to stop Ruoxi. He hurriedly stepped forward, intending to pull her back, but he hesitated.
What if he accidentally hurt Ruoxi?
After some time, Ruoxi still showed no signs of recovery. The yellow shadow stubbornly refused to enter Wang Niu's body.
Could something have gone wrong?
Wang Niu silently prayed, hoping nothing would happen.
Just then, a burst of light erupted from nowhere, startling them both. The force of the light was immense; in just a moment, it destroyed everything around them, leaving Wang Niu feeling extremely awkward.
He glanced around, and at that moment, Ruoxi opened her eyes and collapsed to the ground. This shocked Wang Niu, who rushed to her side and helped her up.
"Ruoxi, are you okay?" Wang Niu asked as he supported her.
Ruoxi shook her head and assured him she was fine.
Yet, Wang Niu still felt a pang of worry in his heart.
Ruoxi looked at him and said, "I'm really fine. Now we just need to go to the Underworld and retrieve Uncle Chen's soul."
Upon hearing this, Wang Niu instantly felt a surge of joy as his gaze fell upon Uncle Chen's lifeless body. "Is it really true?"
Ruoxi nodded and led Wang Niu to Uncle Chen's side, where she had brought Uncle Chen's clothing.
"Did you see that? There was originally a red thread on Uncle Chen, but now it's gone. This means Uncle Chen can be saved."
Hearing Ruoxi's words, Wang Niu felt a surge of joy. If only Uncle Chen could be alright.
"Then let's go to the Underworld now," Wang Niu said eagerly to Ruoxi.
Ruoxi sighed, explaining to Wang Niu that there was no rush. Uncle Chen's body couldn't leave just yet because it was still filled with death energy. They needed to stay by Uncle Chen's side for three days so that the death energy could gradually dissipate from his body.
Wang Niu was taken aback by Ruoxi's explanation but soon understood. He nodded in agreement.
Following Ruoxi's guidance, Wang Niu sat down.
"Are you ready?" Ruoxi asked him.
Wang Niu paused for a moment, took a deep breath, and assured Ruoxi that he was ready.
Ruoxi nodded and then placed her hand against Wang Niu's. At that moment, Wang Niu felt a surge of power within him.
In just a few seconds, a giant dragon emerged from Wang Niu's body.
The dragon suddenly lunged toward Uncle Chen's corpse, startling Wang Niu. He was taken aback, wondering what the dragon intended to do to Uncle Chen.
"Don't worry; the dragon is helping Uncle Chen absorb the death energy," Ruoxi reassured him.
Wang Niu was momentarily stunned, feeling bewildered.
"Really?"
Ruoxi nodded, and at that moment, a thick black mist suddenly erupted from Uncle Chen's corpse.
Wang Niu was stunned; the black fog looked truly terrifying. Just then, a giant dragon soared into the air, coiling around Uncle Chen's body, seemingly absorbing the black mist emanating from him.
In less than a while, the black mist dissipated, and Uncle Chen's complexion began to improve slowly, which left Wang Niu quite astonished.
"Ruoxi, what is happening?" he asked, looking at Ruoxi with confusion.
Ruoxi explained to Wang Niu, "The death energy within Uncle Chen has been absorbed, so naturally, his complexion is returning to normal."
After saying this, Ruoxi fed Uncle Chen something.
"What is this?" Wang Niu asked curiously as he watched Ruoxi.
After feeding Uncle Chen, Ruoxi smiled and said to him, "This is something that preserves vital energy."
Wang Niu was puzzled. "Preserve vital energy?"
Ruoxi nodded and told Wang Niu that Uncle Chen's vital energy had already stabilized. Moreover, the death energy in Uncle Chen had been completely extracted, so there should be no further issues. "In three days, we will head to the Underworld. You should prepare to rest well," she added.
Wang Niu understood Ruoxi's meaning and replied, "Okay."
The two of them continued until they reached the edge between the human world and the Underworld.
Ruoxi pointed at the swaying bridge ahead and said, "That is the Yin-Yang Bridge. We just need to cross it."
Wang Niu paused for a moment. Could they really cross that bridge? He felt an unsettling sense of danger about it.
Wang Niu looked at Ruoxi with skepticism.
"Ruoxi, are you sure we can cross this bridge?" he asked again, still feeling uneasy.
Ruoxi nodded. "As long as we are careful, we will be fine."
"Alright."
He could only follow behind Ruoxi as she walked to the side of the bridge. Turning to Wang Niu, she said, "You wait here for me. I'll check if there's any danger on this bridge."
With that, Ruoxi flew directly toward the bridge.
"Ruoxi, be careful!" Wang Niu said, worry etched on his face as he watched her.
Ruoxi nodded and cautiously walked across the bridge. Although she had just reassured Wang Niu that everything was fine, once she stepped onto the bridge, she realized it was fraught with danger. Taking a deep breath, she suddenly saw a massive splash erupt from the Black River below.
Wang Niu also witnessed this scene and immediately became tense.
"Ruoxi, watch out!"
Just then, dark mist began to swirl around Ruoxi. The appearance of this mist filled Wang Niu's heart with dread; it seemed to carry an ominous force.
Ruoxi's expression turned serious as she gazed at the dark mist. Suddenly, she noticed something lurking within it that resembled a demon.
"Who are you?" Ruoxi called out to the demon hidden in the mist.
The demon cackled menacingly, looking at Ruoxi with a terrifying grin. "Heh heh, what a beautiful lady. If you submit to me, I will let you go."
Ruoxi's anger flared. "Bold demon! Where do you come from to speak to me like that?"
On the other side of the bridge, Wang Niu heard the demon's words and felt a surge of rage. As a man, how could he stand by while his wife was being harassed by a demon? It was utterly humiliating for him as her husband.
"Bold demon! How dare you treat my wife so disrespectfully!"
Upon hearing Wang Niu's voice, the Demon turned to look at the second floor, and in an instant, its face twisted into a ferocious snarl.
"Die! I want you dead!"
With that, the Demon charged fiercely towards Wang Niu. A sense of fear gripped Wang Niu; after all, the thick black mist surrounding the Demon was ominous. If that mist enveloped him, he would be in serious trouble.
In that moment of daze, Wang Niu found himself surrounded by the black mist emanating from the Demon. Suddenly, everything before his eyes turned dark, and he could see nothing.
"Ha ha ha." Suddenly, the Demon's voice echoed in Wang Niu's ears. He froze for a moment and glanced to his left, only to see a shadow dart past. His heart raced with anxiety; he had to be cautious now.
"Wang Jun, be careful!" Ruoxi's warning reached him just as he felt a surge of murderous intent directed at him.
A chill ran down Wang Niu's spine. Just as he instinctively prepared to confront this killing intent, he suddenly felt a searing pain in his chest.
"Ah!" Wang Niu screamed.
Moments later, the Demon's claws left a long scar across his back. This made Wang Niu's heart skip a beat, and he sensed another wave of killing intent rushing towards him.
He couldn't afford to remain passive against the Demon any longer.
"Come out!" Wang Niu shouted. In an instant, the giant dragon within him surged forth.
As the dragon appeared, the surrounding black mist dissipated.
Wang Niu finally laid eyes on the Demon.
"Now is your time to die, not mine," a glint of murderous intent flashed in Wang Niu's eyes.
The Demon seemed unfazed and taunted him with a mocking laugh.
Wang Niu's anger flared up instantly as he retorted, "Fine! You brought this upon yourself; don't blame me!"
After saying that, Wang Niu commanded the dragon, "Go."
In an instant, the dragon lunged fiercely at the monster. The Demon seemed unaware of the dragon's might and stood still. Suddenly, a glimmer of light appeared on the dragon, piercing through the Demon in an instant. The Demon let out a terrible scream.
Then, the Demon vanished, and Wang Niu collapsed to the ground, exhausted.
The dark mist surrounding Ruoxi also dissipated. She flew back and helped Wang Niu to his feet. "Are you okay?"
Wang Niu stood up, panting, and replied to Ruoxi, "I'm fine."
Ruoxi felt relieved. However, as Wang Niu looked ahead with concern, he said to Ruoxi, "Ruoxi, I don't think we can just walk past this; it's too dangerous."
Ruoxi nodded in agreement, acknowledging Wang Niu's point. She replied, "Yes, but we don't have any good solutions."
At that moment, the voice of the dragon echoed in the air, snapping Wang Niu back to attention.
"Ruoxi, I have an idea!" Wang Niu exclaimed excitedly as he looked at Ruoxi.
"What is it?" she asked curiously.
Wang Niu pointed at the dragon in midair. "Actually, we can have the dragon carry us over."
Ruoxi paused for a moment after hearing Wang Niu's suggestion. It seemed feasible, but would it be dangerous?
Seeing Ruoxi silent, Wang Niu assumed she thought it wouldn't work and asked her, "Is there some kind of danger?"
Ruoxi nodded slightly and said to Wang Niu, "I'm just considering some things."
After speaking, Ruoxi fell into deep thought, which made Wang Niu feel quite restless. He glanced at the dragon, which had been soaring gracefully in the sky. It seemed to sense Wang Niu's unease and flew down towards him.
Suddenly, Wang Niu was astonished to see the dragon transform into a bridge.
"Ruoxi, look!" Wang Niu exclaimed in surprise, pointing at the transformation.
Ruoxi turned around to look at him, and then she saw the dragon becoming a bridge. Instantly, her eyes widened in disbelief, as if everything happening before her was impossible.
"What is going on?" Ruoxi asked as she approached the dragon. Now, crossing over felt much safer.
"It must have sensed us," Wang Niu said proudly to Ruoxi.
Ruoxi looked at him in surprise. After a moment, her expression brightened. "Let's go over! With the dragon's help, we can reduce some of the dangers."
"Okay."
The two of them walked across the dragon's back, and just as they had hoped, there was indeed no danger.
After crossing the bridge, Wang Niu let out a sigh of relief. He turned back to the dragon and said, "Change back now."
Upon hearing his words, the dragon immediately transformed back.
This filled Wang Niu with a sense of pride. Although his cultivation was weak, he could still resonate mentally with a dragon.
"What's wrong? You seem very happy, Wang Jun," Ruoxi asked him.
"Nothing," Wang Niu replied bashfully.
Then she followed him into the forest ahead when suddenly he felt something was off.
"Ruoxi, is this the way to the Underworld?" Wang Niu asked curiously.
For some reason, strange images flashed through his mind, each carrying a sense of familiarity.
"Yes, why?" Ruoxi looked at him in surprise.
In an instant, it seemed like Ruoxi remembered something and said to Wang Niu, "Did you think of something, Wang Jun?"
Wang Niu looked at Ruoxi, who appeared excited, and said, "Just now, I think I saw something."
Ruoxi was a bit surprised and replied, "Are you saying you thought of something?"
Wang Niu paused for a moment and nodded. "Sort of, but in my mind, there are still some fragments."
Upon hearing this, Ruoxi became even more excited. She hugged Wang Niu, which made him feel a bit embarrassed. "Ruoxi, alright now, we should continue our actions."
Wang Niu nodded at Ruoxi, and just then, a noise came from ahead, drawing both of their gazes. It seemed something had exploded.
"Ruoxi, let's go take a look," Wang Niu said as he pulled Ruoxi along.
When they arrived, they saw a small child sitting on the ground in disarray, surrounded by dirt pits. This left Wang Niu momentarily stunned, while Ruoxi seemed to understand what had happened.
She then said to Wang Niu, "Look, this child is the son of the King of Hell."
Wang Niu was taken aback by Ruoxi's words— the son of the King of Hell.
His gaze fell on the child, and suddenly, a sharp pain shot through his head. It felt as if he was recalling something important, and this child seemed familiar somehow.
"Wang Jun, what's wrong?" Ruoxi supported Wang Niu.
After a moment, the dizziness began to fade.
He turned to Ruoxi and said, "I'm fine now. I just remembered something; it feels like I know this child."
Ruoxi's eyes widened in shock as she looked at Wang Niu. "What did you say?"
Wang Niu was taken aback; he didn't understand why Ruoxi was so excited.
"Ruoxi, are you happy for me?"
Ruoxi nodded and said, "This is a good thing. It means the memories inside you are gradually recovering, Wang Jun. You need to keep pushing forward!"
Hearing Ruoxi's encouragement, Wang Niu felt a surge of happiness. Just then, a child suddenly appeared beside them.
This caught Wang Niu off guard as he locked eyes with the child, and that familiar feeling returned.
"Heavenly Emperor Uncle!" the child suddenly exclaimed with joy.
Wang Niu froze for a moment. Heavenly Emperor Uncle?
He looked at the child and asked, "Are you calling me?"
The child blinked in surprise and replied, "Yes! Heavenly Emperor Uncle, do you recognize me now?"
With that, the child leaped into Wang Niu's arms.
Instantly, familiar scenes flashed through Wang Niu's mind.
"Heavenly Emperor Uncle, what's wrong? You seem like you don't recognize me," the child said, looking at Wang Niu with confusion.
Heavenly Emperor Uncle...
That phrase seemed to echo somewhere in his memory.
Ruoxi gently held the child and said, "Your Heavenly Emperor Uncle is indeed in a bit of trouble. Can you help us?"
The child paused for a moment after hearing Ruoxi's words and replied, "Sure, Queen of Heaven, just tell me what to do."
Ruoxi looked at the child with satisfaction and nodded. "Have you received an old man's ghost here? If you have, could you give it to us?"
The child became very excited upon hearing Ruoxi's request and said, "Of course! The Underworld is under my control now."
Ruoxi was puzzled by this and asked, "What about your parents?"
The child's expression suddenly turned unhappy as he sighed. "Ah, my parents abandoned me; they just went off to have fun."
Upon hearing this, Ruoxi couldn't help but smile. She said to the little boy, "How about this? As long as you help the Queen of Heaven with this task, next time we have the chance, I will take you out to play. How does that sound?"
The child brightened up at Ruoxi's words and nodded eagerly. "Okay! I will definitely help you well!"
With that, the child opened a passage to the Underworld and led them inside. As soon as they stepped in, Wang Niu felt a chilling aura.
This cold sensation made Ruoxi feel very uncomfortable. "What has happened to the Underworld?" she wondered.
"Little One, what's going on?" Ruoxi asked the child with confusion.
The child looked at them with a helpless expression. "I don't know either. This is what my parents did. They said it was for my training. But look, Queen of Heaven, these ghosts aren't coming out anymore; it's really troublesome."
