"What's a Ghost Wall?" Wang Niu was taken aback.
Ruoxi nodded and looked around, saying, "Look here, after we walked for the first five minutes, we've gone in circles several times. This is the Ghost Wall."
Ruoxi's words immediately made Wang Niu understand. He glanced around and indeed saw that they were stuck in a loop as Ruoxi had described. He turned to her and asked, "So how do we get out?"
After hearing his question, Ruoxi circled around a few times and then said to Wang Niu, "There must be something nearby. As long as we keep cursing loudly, we'll be fine."
Wang Niu was momentarily confused and didn't quite grasp what Ruoxi meant. He asked her, "Curse?"
Ruoxi nodded and explained, "Yes, the demons around us are different from the ones we've seen before. These look like demons, but they're very timid. If we shout at them loudly, they'll get scared and won't bother us, allowing us to leave."
Wang Niu nodded slowly, trying to understand. He then followed Ruoxi's advice and began shouting at the surroundings.
Ruoxi was startled and looked at Wang Niu in disbelief; she hadn't expected him to be so good at cursing.
Soon after, they started moving out of the area. At first, they were still spinning in circles, but eventually, they managed to break free.
Wang Niu looked around and sighed in relief. He turned to Ruoxi and said, "See? We've made it out!"
A smile appeared on Ruoxi's face as she also relaxed. It was then that Wang Niu noticed a mountain looming ahead of them.
"Ruoxi, look! Doesn't this mean Uncle Chen is nearby?" Wang Niu pointed at the mountain in front of them.
Ruoxi gazed thoughtfully at the mountain and nodded. "Yes, Uncle Chen is not far from us. And..."
As she spoke, Ruoxi took out a compass and examined it closely. Uncle Chen's presence became increasingly apparent.
Wang Niu glanced at the compass and said to Ruoxi, "Ruoxi, look, Uncle Chen's position is right here."
He pointed to another location.
Following Wang Niu's finger, Ruoxi saw that he was indicating a massive stone cave.
A thick black mist was rising from the cave, and Ruoxi's brow furrowed immediately; it was clear that greater dangers lurked within.
"I suddenly thought of a plan," Ruoxi said, glancing at Wang Niu.
"A plan?"
Wang Niu looked at Ruoxi with confusion. Ruoxi nodded and said, "Yes, the plan is for me to go alone. You have no Spell on you at all. If I take you with me, I might not be able to rescue Uncle Chen."
Upon hearing Ruoxi's words, Wang Niu was momentarily stunned. He said to Ruoxi, "I know you're doing this for me, but letting you go into danger alone makes me uneasy."
Ruoxi paused for a moment and replied, "I understand your concern, but the cave is extremely perilous. I don’t want you to take risks with me."
Her tone was filled with helplessness. Wang Niu looked at Ruoxi and said, "You just said it’s dangerous inside. Since it’s so dangerous, I definitely can’t let you go alone."
"Alright then, let's go together. However, you must listen to me," Ruoxi said seriously.
Wang Niu readily agreed, saying to Ruoxi, "Okay, I promise I will listen to you."
After they finished speaking, they headed toward the mountain. As soon as they entered the mountain area, the hidden aura of danger made Wang Niu increasingly uneasy. Suddenly, he stopped. Ruoxi looked at him in confusion and asked, "What’s wrong? Are you feeling unwell?"
Wang Niu's complexion suddenly turned terrifying. He intended to shake his head at Ruoxi, but he felt all the muscles in his body suddenly weaken, leaving him feeling very uncertain. Before he could even open his mouth, he collapsed onto the ground.
"What's wrong with you?" Ruoxi immediately became anxious and rushed to help Wang Niu up.
Wang Niu shook his head, feeling completely drained of strength. He managed to move his lips and said to Ruoxi, "I... I feel really unwell."
As soon as he finished speaking, a chilling sensation enveloped him, and darkness clouded his vision.
"Are you okay?" Ruoxi asked urgently.
Suddenly, a loud noise echoed through the mountains, resembling a thunderclap. Ruoxi instinctively trembled at the sound. At that moment, another bolt of lightning appeared in the air, causing Ruoxi to flinch.
"Be careful!"
Ruoxi quickly moved Wang Niu to another location.
Just as they left, the lightning struck the very spot they had vacated.
In an instant, that area exploded.
Seeing this, Ruoxi let out a quiet sigh of relief. If they had been even a moment later, who knows what might have happened?
"Are you alright, Ruoxi?" At this point, Wang Niu felt a bit better and was about to stand up when he suddenly felt a strange force coursing through his body. This power left him completely stunned.
"What... what is happening?" Before Wang Niu could react further, he found himself being lifted by an unseen force.
“Wang Niu, you need to be careful.”
Ruoxi furrowed her brows, unsure of the reason, as strands of black mist began to wrap around Wang Niu.
“What’s going on?” Wang Niu asked, feeling puzzled.
He looked around and noticed that the black mist was growing thicker, seemingly intent on enveloping him. Just as Ruoxi was about to step forward to pull Wang Niu back, a sudden force stopped her in her tracks. Her expression froze; this force was the power of a dragon. How could Wang Niu possess such power? Could it be—
Excitement flickered across Ruoxi's face.
At that moment, something strange happened to Wang Niu's body; it felt as if he were about to explode. His body swelled unnaturally, as if something were trying to break free.
Wang Niu was momentarily stunned. In an instant, a beam of light appeared around him, illuminating his form. Before long, he heard the voice of a dragon whispering in his ear, which instantly brightened his gaze.
Instinctively, he opened his eyes and saw a massive dragon coiling around him.
“What is this?” Wang Niu asked Ruoxi.
Ruoxi's face radiated with joy as she replied, “Wang Jun, you are coming back!”
Wang Niu listened to Ruoxi's words with confusion. What did she mean by “coming back”?
Just as he was pondering this, the coiling dragon suddenly swooped down towards them. In that moment, Wang Niu felt an odd sensation, as if the dragon were a part of his own body. He quickly closed his eyes, awaiting the dragon's arrival. In an instant, the dragon entered Wang Niu’s body.
“Ah!” As the dragon merged with him, Wang Niu let out a terrifying scream that filled Ruoxi with worry. For some reason, Wang Niu stood frozen in mid-air as if nailed down, seemingly losing consciousness and remaining completely still.
“What’s happening?” Ruoxi looked at Wang Niu with concern.
After a while, Wang Niu remained in that state, which made Ruoxi even more worried. If Wang Niu continued like this, he might be harmed by the power brought by the dragon. As these thoughts raced through her mind, Ruoxi's anxiety grew. She flew up and approached Wang Niu. Just as she was about to get closer, the dragon within Wang Niu suddenly manifested. Its eyes glowed green, and for some reason, Ruoxi felt an increasing sense of dread. She looked at Wang Niu and noticed his complexion becoming increasingly pale. The dragon that had been circling around him suddenly left his side and flew in front of him. It opened its mouth wide, seemingly absorbing the power from Wang Niu. Ruoxi's heart trembled—had she misunderstood the situation?
This dragon did not seem to have good intentions toward Wang Niu. Just as Ruoxi pondered this, Wang Niu suddenly let out a piercing scream that sent shivers down her spine. Unable to hold back any longer, she flew forward to reach him. If she didn't save Wang Niu soon, he might be in grave danger.
"Wang Niu, are you okay?" Ruoxi rushed in front of him, preparing to embrace him when suddenly the dragon appeared again, charging at her. Startled, Ruoxi quickly set Wang Niu down. Indeed, as soon as she released him, the dragon halted its attack on her and seized Wang Niu instead. Then, it re-entered Wang Niu's body, transferring its energy into him. In an instant, Wang Niu was filled with power.
"What is happening?" Ruoxi furrowed her brows, looking at Wang Niu with confusion.
At that moment, Wang Niu was brimming with energy. Suddenly, the entire mountain began to tremble as if it were about to collapse. Not only that, but a dragon pattern appeared on Wang Niu's body.
Ruoxi's gaze was fixed intently on him when golden light began to emanate from Wang Niu, as if the Heavenly Emperor himself had descended.
A hint of excitement flickered in Ruoxi's heart as she continued to watch Wang Niu closely.
At that moment, Wang Niu opened his eyes.
He fell from mid-air with a look of surprise in his eyes. He turned to Ruoxi and said, "Ruoxi, I feel like my whole body is filled with power!"
Ruoxi was momentarily stunned by his voice. She placed her hand on him as if testing something and then nodded in response. "Wang Niu," he exclaimed happily, "look! It seems like I have a spell now! This means I can help you rescue Uncle Chen!"
