"What's wrong with you? Why do you look like that?" 0

Ling Er suddenly walked towards Wang Niu. A shiver ran through Wang Niu, and he instinctively took a few steps back. He didn't respond. Ling Er stared at him sharply, as if she could read something from his face. "Are you afraid of me?" 0

Wang Niu was taken aback by Ling Er's words and quickly explained, "No, no! You misunderstood, I’m not." 0

Ling Er's expression shifted to one of disappointment. "Have you been listening to him, thinking I'm a ghost?" 0

Her bluntness made Wang Niu feel uncomfortable; he didn't know how to respond to her. 0

Seeing his reaction, Ling Er sighed helplessly. "If I wanted to harm you, would I have saved you? Remember this: I won’t hurt you. Now, extend your hand." 0

Wang Niu hesitated for a moment before extending his hand. The large black mark in the center of his palm was still very noticeable. He glanced at Ling Er, feeling conflicted about whether he should ask her something. 0

Just as Ling Er was about to remove the black mark from his hand, she noticed the turmoil on Wang Niu's face. She frowned and said, "If you want to ask something, just go ahead." 0

"Did you do this to me?" Wang Niu gritted his teeth and finally asked. 0

Ling Er looked at him with a puzzled expression. "Why would you say that? Did that person tell you that?" 0

Wang Niu fell silent. It seemed Ling Er understood something as she said to him, "It wasn’t me; it was that person." 0

Wang Niu paused for a moment. "That person you're talking about is Old Li?" 0

Ling Er didn’t answer but instead removed the black mark from his hand. Once she finished, she spoke again, "You can go now. Remember not to mention anything about my visit to that person. Also, tell him you've already had mouth-to-mouth with the female corpse." 0

Wang Niu nodded in response and was about to leave when Ling Er's voice called out to him again. "Aren't you curious about who is really trying to harm you?" 0

Hearing this, Wang Niu stopped in his tracks and turned his gaze back to Ling Er. 0

"Is there something you're not telling me?" 0

Ling Er looked at Wang Niu without saying a word. 0

Wang Niu could only purse his lips. Just then, Ling Er spoke again, "Queen, you'll know soon enough. By then, you'll see that I mean you no harm; in fact, I'm here to protect you." 0

Although this statement left Wang Niu feeling puzzled, he chose to remain silent as he walked out of the Tomb. 0

Once he emerged from the Tomb, Old Li immediately surrounded him, anxiously asking, "What happened? Did you follow my instructions?" 0

Wang Niu didn't respond; his mind was a whirlwind of Ling Er's words. 0

Seeing him unresponsive, Old Li's expression changed dramatically. "Did something happen to you?" 0

As he spoke, Old Li grabbed Wang Niu's hand to check it. When he noticed that the black symbol on Wang Niu's hand had disappeared, his face suddenly relaxed. 0

"What happened to you?" Old Li asked, puzzled. 0

Wang Niu snapped back to reality and replied, "Nothing. It was just really scary in the graveyard." 0

Noticing Wang Niu's troubled demeanor, Old Li decided not to press further. He then led Wang Niu away. By the time they returned to their dormitory, it was already late at night. Instead of going back to his own place, Old Li chose to stay in the same dormitory as Wang Niu. 0

Wang Niu felt indifferent about it; after all, the frightening experiences he'd encountered earlier had already shaken him. Having Old Li with him felt reassuring. 0

Once they reached their living quarters, Wang Niu tidied up the empty bed for Old Li. Soon after, both of them drifted off to sleep. For some reason, the night felt particularly calm. 0

Wang Niu thought it would be a peaceful night; however, he had no idea that greater dangers lurked ahead. 0

In the middle of the night, a strange sound suddenly pierced his ears, like someone munching on something. His heart skipped a beat, and as he tried to open his eyes, he realized he couldn't move at all. Even the thought of opening his eyes filled him with dread, causing panic to swell within him. The sound continued to echo around him. 0

He sensed the arrival of fear but felt utterly helpless. 0

Time seemed to stretch indefinitely before the sound gradually faded away. 0

He thought the danger had passed, but in reality, it lingered nearby. Just then, he felt a tearing sensation coursing through his body. 0

It felt as if this pain would consume him; he could sense cold sweat breaking out all over his body. 0

As dawn approached, that feeling finally ceased. 0

“Wake up.” 0

An urgent voice reached his ears, jolting him awake from his slumber. When he opened his eyes, he was stunned. 0

His body was covered in blood, and Old Li was staring at him with the look one might give a monster. 0

Wang Niu suddenly recalled the events of the previous night. 0

“What... what happened to me?” Panic surged within him. 0

Old Li's expression darkened as he scrutinized Wang Niu. The more Old Li stared at him, the more uneasy Wang Niu felt. 0

“Master Li, please say something.” 0

Old Li remained silent for a moment, fixing his gaze on Wang Niu before finally speaking. “Did you really follow my instructions last night?” 0

Wang Niu was immediately taken aback by Lao Li's question. 0

After a moment, he finally spoke up, "Master Lao Li, what exactly is going on?" 0

"You know, you've been targeted by a vengeful spirit," Lao Li said calmly. However, this only heightened Wang Niu's anxiety. 0

"What? Why is that happening?" 0

"Why is it happening? What did you do?" 0

Wang Niu began to recall the events of last night. He seemed to have tripped and ended up falling directly onto a tomb. Could that be the reason? 0

He quickly relayed this to Lao Li. Upon hearing this, Lao Li appeared to remember something and said, "I almost forgot about that. Extend your hand." 0

Wang Niu hesitated for a moment, unsure of Lao Li's intentions, but he still extended his hand. 0

Lao Li took his hand and examined it with great seriousness. After a while, his expression turned grave. 0

"What is going on? Why do you seem to be missing a soul?" 0

Lao Li's words nearly frightened Wang Niu to death. What did it mean to be missing a soul? 0

"Master Lao Li, what do you mean by that?" 0

"Didn't you feel anything unusual last night?" 0

Wang Niu's heart sank as he sensed something ominous and spoke up to Lao Li. 0

"That's bad. It seems your soul has been eaten by that ghost." 0

"What?" Wang Niu immediately lost his composure, jumping out of bed and staring at Old Li in shock. Old Li was not surprised by his reaction. 0

"If that ghost has eaten your soul, then you're finished." 0

"What should I do, Master Li? Please tell me!" Wang Niu's face turned pale. 0

Old Li furrowed his brow and looked at Wang Niu. "There's only one way to save you: you need to sign a contract with me." 0

"What do you mean?" Wang Niu was taken aback. 0

Old Li continued to explain, "Right now, you have no energy at all and can't fight against those things. What you need to do is make a contract with me and become my disciple. That way, the ghost won't pay attention to you, and I can help you regain your soul." 0

Wang Niu was stunned. He had heard of contracts between people before, so he asked Old Li, "Can it really be done like this?" 0

Old Li suddenly sneered at him. "If you don't trust me, that's up to you. But I only give you three days to think about it. If you decide not to go through with it, then I can't help you anymore. I'm doing this for your own good." 0

After saying that, Old Li stormed off. Wang Niu watched his retreating figure, feeling a mix of emotions inside. 0

Suddenly, he thought of someone—Ling Er. 0

He quickly left the room and, seeing no one around, headed to the cafeteria. When he arrived, an elderly woman walked out and gave him a strange look that made Wang Niu uncomfortable. He entered the cafeteria but didn't see Ling Er anywhere. He paused for a moment; she was usually here—where could she have gone? 0
