In the dark space inside the entrance, it was impossible to see what lay within.
"Wang Jun, should we go in?" Feng Ju asked me.
I glanced around; although there seemed to be something wrong inside, it didn't appear to be too serious. I nodded at Feng Ju and stepped inside. As soon as I entered, I felt a wave of Yin Qi rushing toward me.
Instinctively, I covered my mouth and turned my gaze to the other side, where the Yin Qi seemed even denser.
"Feng Ju, perhaps what we're looking for is over there," I said to Feng Ju.
Feng Ju followed my gaze to the left, his brow furrowing deeper. Then, I saw Black and White Impermanence appear before us. "Heavenly Emperor, King Yan."
"Yes, you two go over there and check if there are any lingering souls."
Black and White Impermanence paused for a moment after hearing Feng Ju's words before heading left. After a while, when nothing happened, I found it strange; it couldn't be this calm. So, I followed Feng Ju as we moved toward the left.
It was a narrow path filled with various plants.
"Wang Jun, don't you think there's something off about these plants?" Feng Ju suddenly asked me.
I hesitated for a moment as I surveyed the plants; they seemed normal enough.
"What's wrong? Aren't these plants perfectly fine?" I replied to Feng Ju.
Feng Ju shook his head. "These plants are actually not normal. Just look."
With that, Feng Ju crouched down and pulled one of the plants out. "Wang Jun, take a look at their roots."
I looked at the roots of the plant in Feng Ju's hand, and saw that they were a deep crimson, as red as blood.
"This is watered with human blood," I suddenly exclaimed in surprise.
Feng Ju nodded at me and said, "Yes, it is nourished with human blood. Not only that, these plants belong to the realm of the dead. As long as these entities exist, the ghost of that Great Achievement will remain. To eliminate the minister's ghost, we must first get rid of these entities."
I glanced at the entities at my feet, and at that moment, the moonlight became exceptionally bright.
It illuminated all these entities, and just as Feng Ju and I were about to remove them, the moonlight was unexpectedly absorbed by these entities.
I widened my eyes in shock. Before long, the moonlight vanished completely, and instead, the entities grew larger and taller after absorbing the moonlight. Their branches became incredibly robust.
"Wang Jun, look! The energy within these entities has reached a critical point. If we don't eliminate them now, it could pose a danger in the future," Feng Ju said to me.
I nodded; it would be troublesome if we had to deal with them later. Then, I summoned my celestial energy and eradicated these entities. In an instant, they transformed into wisps of black mist and disappeared into thin air.
"Wang Jun, look! Where did that cloud of black mist come from? Could it be related to these entities?" After speaking, Feng Ju pointed to a spot. I turned my gaze there; it seemed to conceal a hidden place. Perhaps the minister's ghost was there.
Just as we were about to approach, a mournful voice suddenly echoed through the air.
Upon hearing this sound, Feng Ju and I immediately moved toward its source. To our surprise, we reached a dead end; before us stood a wall.
"Look, Wang Jun, there's a wall here," Feng Ju said to me.
I extended my hand and placed it against the wall. Suddenly, I felt a faint ripple of dark energy emanating from it.
"There is a hidden secret here," I said to Feng Ju.
Upon hearing my words, Feng Ju placed a hand on the wall. As her expression grew increasingly astonished, she opened the wall before I could say anything.
To our surprise, what appeared before us was indeed a small hidden chamber.
"Wang Jun, look!" Feng Ju exclaimed excitedly. I nodded and turned my gaze to see a coffin standing in the center. Not only that, but there were also several small barrels arranged around it.
A sense of unease washed over me as I crouched down to inspect what was inside the barrels. To my horror, they were all filled with blood.
"This is the Yin Blood Formation," Feng Ju said to me.
My face fell at the realization. The Yin Blood Formation was based on the blood of living people. If it reached a certain point, the souls could transform into an undying monster.
I stood up, my eyes fixed on the coffin in front of me, suspecting that the soul might be inside it.
Noticing my gaze, Feng Ju asked, "Wang Jun, did you see something?"
I nodded and raised my hand. Instantly, a strong wave of energy surged through the air, pushing open the coffin lid.
"Look, it's the minister's soul," Feng Ju pointed at the shadow inside the coffin.
I glanced at it and controlled the shadow within the coffin. At that moment, the soul was still in an unawakened state; eliminating it now would be best. If it awakened, combined with the Yin Qi and negative energy here, it would become even more difficult to deal with.
"Feng Ju, quickly use Hellfire to burn it!" I urged her.
Feng Ju nodded at my command and summoned Hellfire. In no time, the coffin was engulfed in flames.
"Ah!" At that moment, a mournful cry echoed from within the coffin. The shadow I had confined inside suddenly began to thrash against the coffin violently, producing loud banging sounds.
I furrowed my brow; it must be the Hellfire that awakened this restless spirit.
I took action and transmitted my power to Feng Ju. In just a moment, the shadow stabilized, but it continued to disrupt the barriers I had set up.
"Wang Jun, look!"
Feng Ju's voice caught my attention. I turned to see wisps of red mist emerging from the coffin, which made me take it seriously. I quickly halted Feng Ju's celestial energy.
This spirit was too cunning; it actually attempted to absorb our celestial energy.
"Wang Jun, what should we do now?"
I watched as more and more red mist filled the coffin, my mind racing for a solution.
At that moment, the red mist broke through my confinement and enveloped both me and Feng Ju. Although we were surrounded by the mist, we could still see each other.
Feng Ju communicated with me telepathically, "Wang Jun, there’s a spirit's aura in this red mist. As long as we hit the spirit, we’ll be fine."
Upon hearing this, I replied to Feng Ju, "Alright, but you need to help me."
After hearing my words, Feng Ju leaned closer, and I quickly whispered into her ear.
The red mist continued to thicken as Feng Ju unleashed several bursts of celestial energy towards four directions.
I kept observing, and sure enough, a dark shadow emerged from within the red mist.
I immediately aimed at the black shadow and attacked. In an instant, I saw the shadow transform into the shape of a person.
Without hesitation, I unleashed a beam of light, striking swiftly. Before the shadow could react, it was hit by the light, and in that moment, both Feng Ju and I heard a chilling scream.
As the scream echoed around us, the red mist surrounding us began to dissipate.
“Wang Jun, look! It's that ghost!” Feng Ju exclaimed, simultaneously casting a Spell to pin the ghost in place, preventing it from escaping again.
Just as Feng Ju finished speaking, we watched as the ghost slowly morphed into a human figure, resembling exactly what we had seen earlier in the Stone Tomb.
“Why do you want to destroy me? I have no grievances with you! Why?” The ghost suddenly became frantic, roaring at us.
“Why? You have no right to ask,” Feng Ju replied coldly to the ghost.
“Hmph, who are you?” The ghost's face twisted into a terrifying expression.
Neither Feng Ju nor I felt fear; instead, we calmly addressed the ghost. “You need not know. Do you understand that when this ghost dies, it must go to the Underworld and cannot cause chaos in the Yang Realm or harm those living here?”
