As soon as the Flower Spirit understood, it cast a Spell on the White Butler. To our surprise, a wisp of black mist appeared around him.
In an instant, both the Flower Spirit and I realized that the White Butler was indeed a snake.
"Young Master, we have arrived," the White Butler announced as he stopped in front of a place.
It was a tavern. I glanced around before stepping inside, followed closely by the Flower Spirit. For some reason, the White Butler seemed reluctant.
"What's wrong, White Butler?" I turned to look at him.
The White Butler snapped back to reality and shook his head, looking somewhat embarrassed.
"Come inside with us; let's have a meal together," I suggested to the White Butler.
Upon hearing this, the White Butler quickly shook his head, appearing flustered. "How can that be? You are a noble person, and I am just a lowly servant. If I do this, the Flower Mother will surely blame me."
I let out a cold laugh; it seemed that the White Butler was afraid of something else.
"Are you looking down on me, White Butler?" I feigned anger as I stared at him.
The White Butler was taken aback by my words and didn't know how to respond. The Flower Spirit then explained to him, "White Butler, it's like this: in our household, there is a rule that if the master invites guests for a meal and they refuse, it implies disrespect towards the master. That's why our Young Master is upset. So please don't refuse him; we wouldn't want our Young Master to be angry."
Hearing this from the Flower Spirit, the White Butler had no choice but to agree.
We took our seats, and shortly after, a waiter approached us enthusiastically with a menu. "What would you like to eat, esteemed guests?"
I glanced at the menu and ordered some dishes. "Waiter, please bring me several jars of your Realgar Wine."
"Certainly!" With that, the waiter went off to prepare our food and drinks.
After I put down the menu, I noticed that the expression on the White Butler's face had turned quite unpleasant. I feigned a concerned look and said, "Butler, what's wrong? Are you feeling unwell?"
Upon seeing me looking at him, the White Butler displayed a guilty expression and quickly shook his head, saying, "No, it's just that I might feel too honored to be dining with the young masters."
"Is that so? But you're sweating profusely on your forehead," I remarked to the White Butler.
"Yes, I'm sorry to make you two young masters laugh," he replied.
After saying that, the White Butler deliberately wiped the fine sweat from his forehead.
"It's alright, Butler. Just relax," I reassured him.
"Okay." At that moment, the White Butler's expression improved slightly.
After a while, the dishes we ordered were served one by one, and soon after, the waiter brought over the wine.
"Butler, would you like to have a drink?" I asked him.
"Ah, I... I don't need it. I can't drink alcohol," the White Butler suddenly panicked, shaking his head and even standing up from his seat.
I immediately darkened my expression and stood up as well. "Butler, are you looking down on me?"
"No, young master! Is it alright if I drink?" The White Butler sighed and took the Realgar Wine I offered him.
In an instant, I saw the White Butler tremble violently for a moment; however, just a few seconds later, he returned to normal. I didn't expect his composure to be quite good.
I secretly exchanged a glance with the Flower Spirit, who understood my cue and poured another glass for the White Butler.
The expression on the White Butler's face suddenly turned sour.
The Flower Spirit smiled and said to the White Butler, "What's wrong? Are you not going to drink this cup of wine?"
The White Butler hesitated, feeling at a loss for how to respond.
The Flower Spirit continued to urge him.
"Alright then, I suppose I should comply," the White Butler said as he picked up the wine offered by the Flower Spirit and drank it down.
Just then, several servants hurried in and said to the White Butler, "White Butler, it's bad news! The Flower Mother urgently needs to see you. You should hurry back!"
After they spoke, the White Butler looked at us with a troubled expression. "Gentlemen, I..."
"Yes, we understand. You should go," I replied to the White Butler.
"Thank you, gentlemen." With that, the White Butler rushed off with the servants.
The Flower Spirit looked at the disappearing figure of the White Butler with a puzzled expression and said to me, "What could be so urgent for the Flower Mother?"
I chuckled and replied to the Flower Spirit, "I doubt it's anything urgent; it’s probably just about what the White Butler needs to explain to those people."
The Flower Spirit looked at me in confusion and asked, "What explanation?"
"Don't you remember that before we left, we saw the steward giving instructions to the servants?" I said to the Flower Spirit.
The Flower Spirit paused for a moment and then said, "That's right. Could it be..."
I nodded and followed the Flower Spirit out of the tavern, trailing behind the White Butler.
The butler walked into the backyard of the Red Lotus Pavilion, and I noticed that his expression was quite grim throughout the journey.
"Heavenly Emperor, this snake demon isn't about to transform, is it?" the Flower Spirit said to me.
My gaze remained fixed on the White Butler, and at that moment, a thick White Mist suddenly surrounded him.
"Look, the White Butler is about to change," I told the Flower Spirit.
As soon as I finished speaking, I saw the White Butler instantly transform into a massive Python.
"Heavenly Emperor, this... could he be Serene?" the Flower Spirit said, looking at me with doubt.
Just as I was about to respond, the Flower Mother emerged. Upon seeing the White Butler in his current form, she rushed forward in alarm. "Oh my goodness, Serene, what happened to you?"
Her words sent a shock through both me and the Flower Spirit. We hadn't expected that the White Butler was the person we had been searching for.
"Heavenly Emperor, look! The Flower Mother is helping him revert to his original form."
"It seems they are suspicious of us," my expression immediately turned serious.
Before long, the White Butler returned to his original appearance. "Godmother, those two are not a problem."
Upon hearing his words, the Flower Mother paused for a moment before saying, "Are you sure? If there’s an issue, it could be troublesome for me. Serene, you really shouldn’t have gotten involved with those Flower Fairies."
A complex expression crossed the White Butler's face. "Alright, Godmother, let’s not dwell on that."
Flower Mother could only close her mouth.
"Let's go," I said to Flower Spirit.
We returned to the tavern, and shortly after we sat down, White Butler walked in.
At that moment, White Butler looked much better than before.
"White Butler, the matter has been resolved," I said, feigning surprise as I looked at him.
"Yes, it’s all settled. Aren't there two young masters here?" White Butler replied as he took a seat and drank some Realgar Wine.
Flower Spirit and I observed White Butler's actions. It seemed that Flower Mother must have given him something that made him so bold.
"White Butler, are you alright?" I asked, looking at him with confusion.
White Butler paused for a moment and said, "Young master, what's wrong? I'm fine."
I burst into laughter and said, "No, it's just that you seem like a different person."
"What do you mean by that?" White Butler's expression stiffened, and a complex look flashed in his eyes.
"It's nothing serious. Just eat. We’re going to see a show soon," I replied.
White Butler didn't say anything further and joined us in eating, remaining quiet throughout the meal.
After we finished, I said to White Butler, "You go back first; we’ll manage on our own."
The White Butler was taken aback for a moment, originally wanting to say something, but he could only nod and head back first.
"Should we follow him, Heavenly Emperor?" Flower Spirit asked.
I shook my head. "Not yet. Let's prepare some things first."
It was only when night fell that we returned. However, upon arriving at the Red Lotus Pavilion, we found that the entrance was crowded with people.
There stood the White Butler and Flower Mother in the middle, beside them lay a massive Python.
"Heavenly Emperor, what is going on?" Flower Spirit asked me.
I shook my head and followed Flower Spirit inside. Flower Mother glanced at us intentionally, and just as we were about to ascend the stairs, she suddenly called out to us.
"Young Master, wait a moment."
Flower Spirit and I turned to look at Flower Mother, wondering what she wanted.
"What is it?"
Flower Mother was momentarily stunned, not expecting my reaction to be so calm. "Did you not notice that there is a Python here?"
