A middle-aged man absorbed the essence of my other half, floating in mid-air with a smug expression on his face.
“Ha ha, I’m about to become a god!” he shouted excitedly.
Seeing his triumphant demeanor made me smirk slightly. Beside me, Ruoxi seemed anxious and nudged me, saying, “Wang Jun, why are you still so calm? Your essence is almost completely drained by him!”
I chuckled at Ruoxi’s worried expression and replied, “Don’t worry, you’ll understand soon enough.”
Ruoxi looked at me in confusion, while Feng Ju seemed to know something and smiled knowingly at me. “Wang Jun, you really are impressive.”
I nodded in agreement with Feng Ju, which only deepened Ruoxi's confusion as she kept asking what was going on and why we were acting so mysteriously.
Looking at Ruoxi’s adorable face, I couldn’t help but laugh and said, “Can’t you see? He’s already starting to change.”
Ruoxi paused for a moment before shifting her gaze to the middle-aged man. Suddenly, her eyes widened in surprise. “Oh my god, how did he end up like that?”
I nodded and turned my attention back to the floating man. He had been smiling, but that smile quickly faded.
“What’s happening?” Panic appeared on the middle-aged man’s face as his body swelled up like a round balloon.
“Your body can’t withstand my essence. If you force yourself to endure even half of it, you’ll suffer a backlash,” I explained to him.
Upon hearing this, his face turned pale as he begged me for mercy. “Great Divine Power, I was wrong! Please save me; I don’t want to die!”
“It’s too late now,” I said coldly.
With that, I unleashed my Divine Power and sent a wisp of Eerie Green Gas toward him. As the gas entered his body, green substances began to spread rapidly across him. In no time at all, he transformed into a green figure.
“Wang Jun, let’s find the Celestial Child and Imperial Child first,” Ruoxi urged me.
I nodded and summoned the power of the Heavenly Emperor to locate both the Celestial Child and Imperial Child.
Ruoxi approached the Celestial Child and the Imperial Child, bringing them closer. I glanced at both of them; they were tainted by some dark energy. Soon, I would have to use celestial energy to purge the darkness from within them.
"Ah!" The middle-aged man let out a wretched cry. At that moment, he was covered in green bubbles, swollen like a large ball, looking quite terrifying.
"Feng Ju, Ruoxi, we need to get out of here!" Suddenly, an idea struck me, and I quickly led Ruoxi and Feng Ju away. We hadn’t gone far when a loud explosion erupted right beside us.
The middle-aged man shattered into green fragments that scattered everywhere.
"That was close," Ruoxi said, taking a deep breath as she stared at the green remnants on the ground.
"Yes, Wang Jun, you must have anticipated that he would meet such an end, right?" Wind Lord asked me.
I nodded and turned my gaze to the Celestial Child and the Imperial Child in Ruoxi's hands; they were now our priority.
"Wang Jun, what do you plan to do?" Ruoxi asked me.
"It's fine; let's just see," I replied, instructing Ruoxi to lay the Celestial Child and the Imperial Child down gently.
Once they were placed on the ground, I began using celestial techniques to extract the dark energy from their bodies.
I watched as the dark energy was gradually pulled out from them.
"Wang Jun, does this mean they are getting better?" Feng Ju asked me.
I nodded and said, "They will wake up soon."
At that moment, Ruoxi seemed lost in thought, her expression distant. I nudged her gently. "What’s wrong?"
Ruoxi turned back to me with a thoughtful look and said, "It's nothing, Wang Jun. I just suddenly remembered something."
"What is it?" I instinctively asked Ruoxi.
Ruoxi thought for a moment and said to me, "What do you think about having the Celestial Child assist the Imperial Child?"
I was taken aback, looking at Ruoxi with some confusion. Her suggestion was indeed good, but the Celestial Child harbored a deep-seated nature that wouldn't be easy to eradicate.
"Wang Jun, are you worried about the Celestial Child's true nature?" Ruoxi saw right through me.
I nodded in agreement. If we wanted the Celestial Child to assist the Imperial Child, we would need to eliminate the Celestial Child's inherent nature and return it to its original state. Only then could the Celestial Child truly support the Imperial Child.
"Wang Jun, don't worry. With me here, you have nothing to fear," Ruoxi said confidently.
I was somewhat surprised and nodded at Ruoxi, entrusting both the Celestial Child and the Imperial Child to her care.
"Wang Jun, you really don't seem to care about Ruoxi at all," Feng Ju approached me after Ruoxi took away the Celestial Child and the Imperial Child.
"Who says I don't care about Ruoxi? The reason I came down to the mortal realm this time was so that Ruoxi could enjoy herself. Once everything with the Celestial Child is settled, you'll see how much I care for Ruoxi," I replied seriously to Feng Ju.
Feng Ju looked at me with an exaggerated expression and said, "Oh, you're taking advantage of me since Xiaomei isn't around, aren't you?"
I chuckled; anyway, the middle-aged man had already been dealt with. Feng Ju and I left that place and returned to Li Manor.
After bringing them back to Li Manor, Ruoxi began brainwashing everyone there. She switched the positions of the Imperial Child and the Celestial Child, making the Imperial Child the most favored young master of Li Manor while the Celestial Child became his companion.
"Wang Jun, do you think what Ruoxi did is okay?" Feng Ju looked hesitant. I understood what she meant, but how could my wife's actions be anything but good?
Naturally, I flattered her by saying it was great. Feng Ju looked at me with a helpless expression.
I reassured Feng Ju, "Don't worry; Ruoxi always knows what she's doing. There's no need for unnecessary concern."
Feng Ju fell silent after I spoke.
I walked over to Ruoxi and placed my hand on her forehead. "Are you tired? You just used your celestial energy to switch everything back, so you must be exhausted. Let me share some energy with you."
Ruoxi nodded in response to my words, accepting my celestial energy.
After a while, her complexion improved.
"Wang Jun, I suddenly remembered something. We haven't returned to the heavens for quite a while. You should go back and take a look; I can handle things here," Ruoxi said, looking at me with a sense of understanding.
Her reminder made me realize that it had indeed been a long time since we last visited the heavens.
"Are you sure you can manage? If you feel tired, just send me a message immediately, okay?" I looked at Ruoxi with concern.
Ruoxi nodded at me. After exchanging glances with Feng Ju, I flew back to the heavens.
"Wang Jun, you really did find yourself a good wife," Feng Ju remarked.
I nodded in agreement with Feng Ju's words when suddenly, the voice of Taishang Laojun came from behind us, sounding somewhat anxious.
Feng Ju and I turned to look at Taishang Laojun. "What happened?"
"It's not good, Heavenly Emperor," Taishang Laojun said, panting heavily. I frowned; it seemed like there was always trouble in the heavens.
"What is it?" I asked Taishang Laojun.
Taishang Laojun took a breath and said, "The New Demon Lord from the Demon Realm has been in the Heavenly Realm for a few days now."
Upon hearing this, I looked at Taishang Laojun in confusion. The Demon Lord from the Demon Realm? This caught me off guard; when did such a figure appear?
"Why did you wait a few days to tell me?" I glared angrily at Taishang Laojun as I walked out of the main hall.
Taishang Laojun followed closely behind, explaining, "I couldn't get away until now. As soon as I was free, I came to inform the Heavenly Emperor."
I shot a glance at Taishang Laojun, who shivered and added, "Heavenly Emperor, this New Demon Lord seems to have some hostility. You need to be careful."
"Yes, don't worry," I replied.
We soon arrived at the main hall. As we stepped inside, we saw a man dressed in a black robe sitting on the dragon throne with an air of confidence.
"Hey, New Demon Lord, what do you think you're doing? Do you know that position is not for you to sit in?" Taishang Laojun quickly addressed the New Demon Lord.
Hearing Taishang Laojun's words, the New Demon Lord turned his gaze toward me and Wind Lord, scanning us both before asking, "Which one of you is the Heavenly Emperor?"
I looked calmly at the New Demon Lord. Wind Lord, furious at this question, charged at the New Demon Lord without hesitation. The two began to fight fiercely, their strengths evenly matched. It seemed that the New Demon Lord was looking for trouble; however, since he had come here to provoke us, he shouldn't blame me for being rude.
I secretly unleashed a palm strike toward the New Demon Lord while he was engaged in battle with Wind Lord.
The moment my strike landed on him, he was forcefully slammed against a pillar behind him. Instantly, the New Demon Lord spat out black blood and collapsed to the ground. Wind Lord halted upon witnessing this scene.
I approached the fallen New Demon Lord step by step, a cold smirk on my lips. "So you're here to stir up trouble, are you?"
Realizing that I had ambushed him, the New Demon Lord's tone turned even more hostile. "Hmph! You're really despicable for daring to sneak attack me."
I chuckled lightly. "Despicable? What about it? Didn't you take advantage of my absence to cause chaos in the heavens? Now tell me your intentions."
The New Demon Lord's expression twitched at my words, rendering him speechless. I smiled at his flustered demeanor. "What happened to your arrogance just now?"
With that, a murderous aura erupted from my eyes as I charged toward the New Demon Lord. He was momentarily stunned by my killing intent. However, he quickly regained his composure and sprang up from the ground, saying, "What do you want to do?"
I smiled lightly, fixing my gaze on him. "That question should be mine. What do you want?"
The New Demon Lord seemed to recall something, looking at me with a fearless expression. "Hmph, since you asked, I'll tell you. I'm here to settle accounts with your Heavenly Realm. Why do you get to confine our Demon Realm to such a small piece of land?"
I furrowed my brow, realizing what the New Demon Lord meant. So, he had come down from the heavens for a territorial dispute.
"What do you plan to do?" I asked calmly, maintaining my gaze.
Beside me, the Wind Lord grew angry upon hearing our exchange. Standing by my side, he said, "Wang Jun, why are you even talking to him? This person is clearly here to cause trouble. The Demon Realm is not small; don't listen to his nonsense."
I glanced at Feng Ju. To be honest, the Demon Realm was very unfamiliar to me. Without understanding the situation, I wouldn't make any judgments. I waved my hand in the air, and soon enough, an image of the Demon Realm appeared before us.
After observing the Demon Realm, my expression darkened as I turned my gaze back to the New Demon Lord. "Is this what you call a small Demon Realm?"
The New Demon Lord's face seemed to falter slightly, likely having seen what I just witnessed. After a moment, he lifted his head and looked at me again. "Isn't it? The Demon Realm is inherently small. Look at your Heavenly Realm; the entire sky is your territory. But we in the Demon Realm can only stay on this small piece of land."
"Are you joking? A small piece of land? That area is quite large; you saw it just now. Are you saying that your Demon Realm wants a piece of territory in the sky too?" My tone grew increasingly angry.
