The black threads lifted me off the ground, pulling me step by step toward the Dark Abyss.

I secretly attempted to summon the power of the Heavenly Emperor but found that I couldn't muster any strength at all. A wave of fear washed over me as I realized that all my energy had vanished without a trace.
I stared wide-eyed at Uncle Tiger and Captain Wu.
They seemed to have guessed my thoughts and chuckled. "You should remember the drink you had," Captain Wu said.
My heart sank. Could there have been poison in that drink? But I had prepared it myself; that was impossible.
Captain Wu laughed heartily. "Wang Niu, how should I put this? You’re clever but also quite foolish. That drink was indeed prepared by you, but you forgot where its water source came from."
Upon hearing Captain Wu's words, realization struck me like lightning. The water source was from the Heavenly River—could it be?

"You truly are demons," I said in astonishment as I looked at Uncle Tiger and Captain Wu. At that moment, I felt an illusion in my heart, as if the Captain Wu and Uncle Tiger I once knew had died, and the two before me were nothing but wicked demons.
"Heh heh, what of it? This was all mine to begin with. It was your father, the Former Celestial Emperor, who changed everything. Besides, you have been enjoying my possessions for quite some time now," Uncle Tiger replied.

"Wang Jun, don't worry. I'm by your side," came Ruoxi's voice in my ear. I trembled; could this voice really be Ruoxi's?
I felt a surge of excitement in my heart. Just as I was about to speak to Ruoxi, she urged, "Wang Jun, don't say anything; otherwise, their vigilance will increase."
I immediately closed my mouth. Just as Uncle Tiger and Captain Wu were about to attack me, two bright orbs suddenly appeared behind them.
These orbs tightly surrounded Uncle Tiger and Captain Wu, instantly controlling them.
"What is happening?" A hint of panic flashed across Uncle Tiger's face.
"It seems someone has activated the Light Shield," Captain Wu's tone grew urgent.
