I felt a jolt in my heart when I realized that the poison in that bottle was potent.
After preparing everything, I noticed that Azure Grain's expression had changed. She seemed to have become colder and more detached, likely due to what the clan leader had said to her.
However, this action had drawn a line between Azure Grain and me, turning us into enemies.
She was aligned with the Previous Empress, while I was the son of my mother. But no matter what, I would seek revenge for this.
I left the place where Azure Grain resided and returned to my palace. My thoughts drifted to Ruoxi; I wondered how she had been these past few days.
According to both celestial and earthly calculations, Ruoxi was nearing middle age now.
I waved my hand, and an image of Ruoxi appeared before me. Just as I had thought, her hair had indeed started to turn gray.

I put away the image just as footsteps approached from outside.
Looking over, I saw Xiaomei. She walked over, supporting her large belly. Upon seeing me, she prepared to bow, but I quickly stopped her.
"What brings you here?" I asked curiously.
Xiaomei smiled and said she came to see me, but then added that she had heard something.
Though Xiaomei didn't elaborate, I already anticipated what she was about to say.
I nodded and replied, "It's not just hearsay; it's true. However, I have my own plans and must proceed this way. Only then will Ruoxi and the entire heavenly realm be in a state of peace. I don't want anyone disrupting this peace; do you understand?"
Xiaomei, upon hearing my words, nodded and said, "I understand. I just feel that Princess will be wronged by this."
I knew what Xiaomei meant. Over the years, I had indeed caused Ruoxi a lot of grievances, but I would make sure to compensate her well.
"I know. Once this matter is over, I will make it up to Ruoxi and do my best to ensure she isn't harmed," I replied.

In the grand hall, many celestial beings had already arrived. They wore smiles on their faces and took their seats while exchanging pleasantries with those beside them.
Noticing that the time was nearly upon us, I appeared in the grand hall. Upon seeing me, the celestial beings bowed and congratulated me.
A smile spread across my face as I wished them joy in return.
At that moment, a voice announced the arrival of Consort Tian.
I knew Azure Grain had arrived; everyone’s gaze turned toward the entrance.
Unlike before, Azure Grain was dressed elegantly today, exuding a certain beauty. Surrounded by Celestial Maidens, she slowly walked toward me with a faint smile on her lips.

"Azure Grain, you look beautiful today," I said sincerely.
Upon hearing my words, Azure Grain froze for a moment before smiling and replying, "Heavenly Emperor, do you really like me?"
I understood what Azure Grain meant by that statement, but I couldn't tell the truth because I had to consider the bigger picture.
I put on a heartfelt expression and said to Azure Grain, "I truly love you."
As soon as I finished speaking, I noticed a flicker of complexity in her eyes.
After that, we began to drink from the same cup.
When Azure Grain handed me the wine, I saw a hint of reluctance in her eyes, mixed with helplessness. I took it from her, quickly rolled up my sleeve, and swapped the wine in my hand.
"From now on, we are family, Wang Jun," Azure Grain said, looking at me with an emotion I couldn't comprehend on her face.
I nodded and drank the wine. Seeing this, Azure Grain also downed her drink.
At that moment, I heard commotion outside; it seemed like two pairs of people were fighting. I knew it was the Previous Empress's people.
I looked at Azure Grain and asked, "Do you regret it?"

A hint of guilt appeared on Azure Grain's face. I remained silent as pain began to show on mine, and then I collapsed onto the ground.

As she finished speaking, voices echoed from outside the door. My heart raced; it was Old Five bringing reinforcements.

Azure Grain and the tribal leader turned pale at this sight. Just when things seemed dire, I appeared.
Upon seeing me, they all stopped in their tracks.
"Heavenly Emperor," they called my name respectfully. In fact, we had already coordinated with the Celestial Assembly beforehand; this was part of our plan.
