The villager looked at the village chief with a joyful expression and said, "Chief, it's truly a miracle! The villagers who were quarantined have just recovered. You should go see them!" 0

Upon hearing this, the chief was stunned, disbelief etched on his face. The villager probably anticipated the chief's reaction and didn't find it strange; after all, anyone would feel incredulous about such an event. 0

The chief quickly followed the villager, and those holding Little Ruoxi trailed behind him, seemingly curious about the situation. 0

They arrived at a small house, and the villager opened the door. Inside, everyone stood up, looking vibrant and full of energy. 0

For a moment, even the chief couldn't believe it—had they truly recovered? 0

"Are you really better?" the chief asked the people, his voice trembling. 0

"Yes, Chief, they are all well now," a doctor beside him informed. 0

Hearing the doctor's words, the chief became overwhelmed with excitement and turned to the doctor. "Since they are better, does that mean the villagers outside will also be cured?" 0

The doctor nodded, his face reflecting joy as he replied, "Yes, just now I checked on them and found that many of their severe symptoms have improved significantly." 0

"That's great! It seems our village has indeed been blessed by her protection," said the chief as he looked back at Little Ruoxi and embraced her. 0

A faint smile appeared on my lips; it seemed Little Ruoxi had brought good fortune to these villagers. 0

I returned to Heaven, relieved that I wouldn't have to worry about Little Ruoxi for a while. After what had just happened, I believed that the people in the small village would take good care of her. 0

"Heavenly Emperor, you're back!" As soon as I arrived in Heaven, I saw the Supreme Old Lord. 0

I nodded lightly. The Supreme Old Lord chuckled and said, "Heavenly Emperor, I have some good news for you." 0

I looked at Taishang Laojun with curiosity. He continued, "The celestial beings have selected a fairy for you; she is already in your palace." 0

"What?" I was taken aback and looked at Taishang Laojun with dissatisfaction. What was this about? Were they sending me a Celestial Maiden? Were they trying to make me take a consort? 0

"You just need to follow me," he said. 0

Upon arriving at the palace, I saw the Celestial Assembly and a row of beautiful fairies. 0

"Heavenly Emperor," the Celestial Beings bowed to me. 0

"What do you mean by this? Ruoxi just left, and now you want me to choose a consort?" My tone carried a hint of anger; these old fellows were truly bored. 0

"Heavenly Emperor, please do not be angry. We are doing this for your benefit." 0

The Celestial Beings immediately knelt down upon sensing my displeasure. 0

"Enough of this talk. Let's leave it at that for now." I waved my hand in frustration, dismissing them. 0

Later that evening, I returned to the Heavenly Observation Palace. A day had passed in the heavens, which meant a year must have gone by on earth. I wondered what Little Ruoxi would be like after a year. 0

I opened the scene before me; Ruoxi had grown a bit. Although she still looked like a child, she was already more beautiful than an ordinary child. Watching her grow from a tiny little one brought warmth to my heart. 0

"Little brother," came Captain Wu's voice from behind me. 0

I turned to see Captain Wu approaching and said, "Have you finished with matters in the Underworld?" 0

Captain Wu's face fell as he sat down on a nearby step. "Finished? I'm exhausted! You have no idea how tough it is dealing with the King of Hell in the Underworld—it's all about catching little ghosts." 0

I looked at Captain Wu in confusion, finding it amusing. "Aren't there Yin Chai and Yin Officials? Why don't you let them handle it?" 0

To my surprise, Captain Wu looked at me with disdain. "Do you think it's as easy for me as it is for you? If I had Yin Chai and Yin Officials, I wouldn't be suffering like this. Little brother, this is your fault; I'm the one enduring all this." 0

I understood what Captain Wu meant and awkwardly smiled. "So how do you want me to compensate you?" 0

"How about this: since you've become the Heavenly Emperor, accompany me to the Underworld and help me deal with those Evil Spirits. After that, I'll take care of the rest," Captain Wu suggested. 0

I nodded in agreement; it wasn't a big deal after all. 0

Together with Captain Wu, we arrived at the Underworld. As soon as we got there, an Evil Spirit charged at us. I quickly extended my hand to block it, and in an instant, the Evil Spirit vanished. 0

"Wow, little brother! How did you manage to kill my Evil Spirit just like that? You can't just eliminate them; I still need them!" Captain Wu looked at me with a pained expression. 0

I shook my head helplessly; if only Captain Wu had mentioned it earlier. Then, Captain Wu and I began to divide our tasks. He moved to one side while I went to the other, responsible for capturing the Evil Spirits. 0

With the Divine Power of the Heavenly Emperor, capturing these Evil Spirits was a piece of cake. In no time, I had gathered all the Evil Spirits in this area into my Pouch. 0

"Wow, how did you do that so quickly?" Captain Wu exclaimed, his jaw dropping in surprise. 0

I smiled and handed the Pouch in my hand to Captain Wu. After a while, he also finished capturing the Evil Spirits on his side. 0

We sat down, and Captain Wu looked at me as if he remembered something. "Where's Ruoxi? I haven't seen her. Did she go off to do something again?" 0

I paused for a moment before replying, "Sort of." 0

"What do you mean?" Captain Wu asked, looking puzzled. 0

I stood up and brushed off the dirt from my clothes. "Here's the thing: a village has been suffering because of me. To make up for the pain I've caused, Ruoxi went to face some trials. But this is also beneficial for her." 0

Captain Wu stood up as well, seemingly not quite understanding. "Little brother, that's not very loyal of you. Ruoxi just came back, and now you're sending her off to suffer again." 0

I knew all this too well, but if I didn't do it this way, how would those immortals agree? Being the Heavenly Emperor came with its own burdens. 0

Seeing that I remained silent, Captain Wu didn't press further. 0

"Since we've dealt with the Evil Spirits from the Underworld, I'm leaving now." 0

"Wait," Captain Wu stopped me. "Didn't you say Ruoxi is in the mortal realm? Let's go check on her; those old folks won't know." 0

I was just thinking along those lines when we arrived at the small village. After a year, it was clear that this little village had improved significantly. 0

"Where's Ruoxi?" Captain Wu asked as he looked around. 0

I glanced over and spotted a spirited little girl on her tiptoes trying to pick some flowers. 0

That was Little Ruoxi. I walked over and picked the flowers she wanted, placing them in her hands. 0

"Is this what you want?" I gently asked Little Ruoxi. 0

Little Ruoxi laughed, making a series of 'eh eh eh' sounds. 0

"How did she become so small?" Captain Wu looked astonished. 0

I nodded and said, "This is also part of the tribulation." 0

Captain Wu pouted, about to say something when suddenly, a loud commotion erupted ahead. Both Captain Wu and I turned to see a villager rushing towards us, looking anxious. 0

"Not good! There's trouble! Bandits are coming!" 0

The villager's shout sent the entire village into a panic. No one knew what to do. The village chief stepped forward to calm the frightened villagers. "Everyone, don't panic! Let's leave the village for now and wait until the bandits are gone. Gather your most important belongings and leave immediately!" 0

With the chief's words, everyone sprang into action, rushing into their homes to grab their things. 0

After a while, all the villagers had gathered outside. Seeing that it was nearly time to leave, the chief began to lead them away. However, they forgot about Little Ruoxi. 0

Because Little Ruoxi was so young and unaware of what was happening, she continued to play in a corner. 0

"What’s going on? Why didn’t they take Ruoxi with them?" Captain Wu grew anxious and was about to call out to them when I stopped him. This could cause trouble for Little Ruoxi's tribulation. 0

"Don't go yet. Let's see if Little Ruoxi is alright. If she's fine, we can ignore it," I said to Captain Wu. 0

He nodded in agreement. After the villagers left, the bandits quickly arrived. 0

Seeing the empty village, they immediately became furious. A figure who seemed to be the Bandit Leader dismounted from his horse and stood in the center, scanning the area until he spotted Little Ruoxi in the corner. A cold expression crossed his face as he walked towards her. 0

"Are we really not going to intervene?" Captain Wu asked urgently. 0

I shook my head, feeling remarkably calm inside. 0

"Boss, all the people in this little village have left. They've taken their most precious food with them. What should we do?" one of the bandits approached the leader. 0

"You all figure it out yourselves," the leader glared at him fiercely. 0

"Yes, yes, boss." The bandits began to search for food. 0

The leader picked up Little Ruoxi and looked at her with a serious expression. 0

"Little brother, are you really going to just let this happen?" Captain Wu seemed quite anxious. 0

"No, it's not that I'm ignoring it. Right now, the Bandit Leader has no ill intentions toward Little Ruoxi; there's nothing to manage," I replied. 0

"You say your family doesn't care about you anymore. How about joining us as a bandit?" the Bandit Leader said to Little Ruoxi. 0

Seeing someone pick her up, Little Ruoxi blinked at the Bandit Leader, her little hands playfully swatting at his face, looking very happy. 0

"Does that mean you agree?" the Bandit Leader smiled. 0

"Hee hee hee, fun, fun!" Little Ruoxi appeared innocent and adorable. 0

"Alright, from now on, I’ll be your godfather," the Bandit Leader said joyfully. 0
