"You don't know that there is a force here that opposes us. If we activate our own powers, we will be sensed by this opposing force, which will generate resistance against us. If you had continued to use your powers just now, this force would have grown stronger, ultimately trapping us here," the woman said. 0

My heart sank at her words, but this wasn't a solution either; it would still lead to death. 0

"I have an idea," Xiaomei said, looking at us. 0

My eyes lit up instantly, and I hurriedly asked Xiaomei what her plan was. 0

"Don't you have the Evil Arts planted by the Ghost Gate Sect Master?" Xiaomei turned to the woman and asked. 0

The woman was taken aback, somewhat confused by Xiaomei's words, but she nodded nonetheless. Xiaomei smiled and transferred the woman's blood to herself. In an instant, I saw a strange creature appear above Xiaomei's head. 0

Before I could react, the woman's voice came through, "What is happening? How did you also fall under the influence of the Ghost Gate Cult's Evil Arts?" 0

I was struck by her words. Could it be that the thing above Xiaomei's head was a manifestation of being affected by the Evil Arts? 0

"Xiaomei, what happened? Are you okay?" I asked with concern. 0

Xiaomei shook her head and said she was fine. Then she grabbed my hand, and I felt a sharp pain for a moment, but it quickly faded. Then the woman's surprised voice rang out again, "What is going on? How did you both fall under the Evil Arts?" 0

I looked at Xiaomei in confusion and finally understood; this was Xiaomei's plan. Was she trying to evade the power here by doing this? 0

Before I could ask her, Xiaomei spoke up on her own. "Yes, I did it on purpose because there are Evil Arts from the Ghost Gate Cult within her. It happens to resonate with the power here. Even if our presence can't completely mask it, we still carry the aura of the Ghost Gate Cult. The forces here won't be suspicious since they can't differentiate clearly. With this aura as protection, I believe they won't harm us unless we accidentally violate their taboos. So we must be cautious in everything we do." 0

Now I understood as we continued forward. However, after walking for a long time, we were still on the same path, which heightened my sense of vigilance. Could it be that we were facing another problem? 0

I took out the map in my hand and looked closely; indeed, I noticed something different. Logically speaking, we should have reached the Demon Moon Pool after walking for a while, but even after covering half the distance, there was still no sign of it. 0

"Wait," I called out to the woman and Xiaomei. 0

They stopped and looked at me after hearing my voice. 0

"What’s wrong?" Xiaomei asked. 0

"I noticed something strange here; you'll understand when you come closer." I handed over the blueprint in my hand. 0

Xiaomei and the woman leaned in to look at the blueprint, and I could see their expressions growing increasingly serious. At that moment, the woman's face turned extremely pale. 0

"This is bad; we might be dealing with a Fog Ghost," the woman said. 0

Xiaomei and I immediately asked her what a Fog Ghost was. 0

The woman's face was tense as she explained, "There are many guardian spirits inside this Listening Pavilion, meant to protect the Ancient Divine Beast. If outsiders enter, their spiritual energy will gradually manifest in these people." 0

"What kind of spiritual energy?" I sensed something was off. 0

"The Fog Ghost's spiritual energy causes us to feel a sense of superiority over one another, leading to self-destruction. It’s possible that this energy has already entered each of our bodies, so everyone needs to be careful." 0

As soon as the woman finished speaking, Xiaomei and I felt something was wrong; there was a palpable wave of energy surrounding us. 0

"This is bad; it's here," my expression changed immediately. 0

The wave around us intensified, rushing toward us and penetrating our bodies. At that moment, everything around us began to shift. 0

The surroundings turned into a blank void, devoid of any sound. 0

When I opened my eyes again, everything had changed. I had transformed into a general standing atop a city wall. Below me stood a sea of dark soldiers, and across from me stood another general. Though I couldn't see his features clearly, my instincts told me that he was my enemy. 0

At that moment, the sound of drums and gongs filled my ears. Listening to the rhythmic beats stirred an unusual feeling within me, a surge of excitement. 0

"General, we can launch our soldiers to attack the enemy now," a figure beside me said. 0

I took his words seriously and nodded. Once I gave the order, the soldiers relayed my command, determined to annihilate every last one of the enemies at any cost, leaving none alive. 0

For some reason, I felt an exhilarating thrill coursing through me, a sense of eagerness to engage in battle. 0

Then, my body began to move. I picked up my weapon and joined the soldiers in the fray. 0

I could see blood staining my hands and weapon as I pierced through one living person after another, each falling to my strikes. This sensation only fueled my excitement and addiction to the chaos. Before long, corpses surrounded me, even piling up behind me like a small mountain. 0

Yet, I had no intention of stopping; I continued to fight until only the opposing general and I remained. 0

The enemy general leaped down from the city wall and stood before me. I noticed a murderous intent in his eyes—a deadly resolve aimed at me. Strangely, when I met his gaze filled with hostility, a similar urge to kill surged within me. 0

At that moment, an overwhelming desire arose within me, as if something was holding me back from striking. Suddenly, a sharp pain shot through my head; it became unbearable. Unable to control the agony, I dropped my weapon and knelt on the ground in torment. 0

"Wang Niu, you must hold on!" Xiaomei's voice echoed in my mind. 0

In an instant, it felt as though my head might explode. Gradually, everything around me shifted again, accompanied by a flash of white light. 0

"Wang Niu, are you alright?" Xiaomei appeared beside me. 0

At that moment, the pain in my head vanished. I looked at Xiaomei and the woman beside her, both covered in blood, bewildered by what was happening. 0

"What happened to you?" I asked Xiaomei and the woman. 0

Xiaomei rolled her eyes at me and pointed to the marks on my body, saying, "Look at yourself." 0

It was then that I noticed I was covered in blood. 0

"What happened? I just saw a lot of people, and it seemed like I even killed someone," I said to them. 0

"The Fog Ghost is at work," the woman replied. 0

"If you had killed the general in front of you, we would all have died here," Xiaomei explained. "That general represents both of us. We, like you, entered the illusion set by the Fog Ghost. Fortunately, we both woke up and escaped from the illusion. We thought you would come out faster than us, but unexpectedly, you fell deeper into it. If we hadn't called out to you, you would have killed the general in front of you. Even though we've escaped, that general still represents us." 0

I sighed in relief. At that moment, the wall in front of us suddenly vanished, revealing a lotus pond. 0

"Look, the Fog Ghost has left; now we are at the Demon Moon Pool," the woman said, pointing at the lotus pond that had appeared before us. 0

"This is the Demon Moon Pool?" I was somewhat surprised. According to the map's route, this was indeed the Demon Moon Pool, but I expected it to be turbulent; instead, it looked no different from an ordinary pond. 0

On the map, this Demon Moon Pool was marked as a dangerous location. 0

"Don't let your guard down; the water in this Demon Moon Pool has a murderous aura. You need to be careful," Xiaomei said with a very serious expression. 0

I paused for a moment and asked Xiaomei what was wrong. 0

"Just look at the surface of the water in the Demon Moon Pool," Xiaomei replied. 0

I looked over and saw that the surface of the Demon Moon Pool was very calm; there was nothing unusual about it. I turned to Xiaomei and asked her if there was something beneath the water. 0

Xiaomei stepped forward, picked up a stone from the ground, and threw it into the pond. Before the stone even hit the surface of the water, I saw it instantly turn to dust. This scene made my eyes widen in shock; what was going on? Just moments ago, I hadn't seen anything clearly. 0

"That's the Water Spirit," the woman suddenly said as she walked over to Xiaomei. 0

"The Water Spirit?" I looked at the woman in confusion. 0

The woman nodded and explained, "This Water Spirit is also a type of guardian spirit. Its nature is very malicious; anything that passes over its water surface will be erased by its power, just like the stone we saw earlier." 0

I was somewhat astonished. The Demon Moon Pool wasn't particularly wide, but with a Water Spirit in the middle, it would be quite difficult to cross from above. 0

"Unless we have the help of a Fire Spirit," the woman added. 0

"Fire Spirit?" I repeated. 0

The woman nodded and looked up, where a dragon appeared. 0

Xiaomei and I followed her gaze and indeed saw a dragon above. Could this be the Fire Spirit she mentioned? 0

"Is that fire dragon what you mean?" Xiaomei asked. 0

"Yes, but this Fire Spirit has been asleep for a long time and cannot be awakened. It's quite troublesome," the woman frowned. 0

Xiaomei gazed thoughtfully at the Fire Spirit above. After a moment, she seemed to have an idea and said to me, "I know what to do. You need to awaken the Fire Spirit." 0
