When the King of Hell mentioned the website Ш urЦo3, he stopped speaking. 0

"But how can you guarantee that once everything is settled, you won't turn against us?" I asked. 0

The King of Hell chuckled lightly. "Isn't your role to protect the mortal realm? To be honest, I'm not particularly interested in it." 0

I fell silent for a moment before asking, "Have you already devised a plan?" 0

He nodded. "As long as we sign a contract, we can establish a cooperative relationship, and then we can implement our plans together." 0

As he spoke, the King of Hell drew something in front of him, and suddenly, a book appeared before us. It displayed some conditions regarding our cooperation. 0

"Take a look. If there are no issues, then please sign it," he said. 0

I examined it closely and found no problems. This could indeed be beneficial. I still needed two fragments of lost souls to solidify my identity as the King of the Underworld. If we faced the Ghost Gate Sect Master alone, it would be quite challenging, and the turmoil above would only add to the pressure. It would be better to cooperate first and eliminate the main enemy before proceeding. 0

I raised my hand, ready to place my fingerprint on the document when suddenly a voice echoed in my head: "Wang Niu, don't decide; it's a trap." 0

In an instant, I felt as if I were pinned in place. The voice belonged to Xiaomei. 0

"What’s wrong?" The King of Hell asked when he saw me halt my actions. 0

"Let me think about it for a few days," I replied. 0

The King of Hell's expression darkened slightly, but he said nothing further. He then instructed his subordinates to take us to a resting area and stated that we must provide him with an answer in three days; otherwise, we would face the consequences. 0

After the Ghost Soldiers left, I quickly closed the door, and Xiaomei immediately emerged from my shoulder. 0

"I said, Wang Niu, how could you be so foolish? You almost ruined yourself," Xiaomei said anxiously. 0

I was taken aback, not quite understanding what Xiaomei meant, and asked, "What do you mean? Isn't that book written very fairly? It doesn't pose any threat to us; I read it clearly." 0

Xiaomei tapped my head and said, "Are you really that dense? That book is the Yin Book, which can change at any time. As long as you put your handprint on it, you must comply with whatever it states. If not, you'll be punished by the Yin Book. What if after you've helped the King of Hell resolve everything, he changes his mind and alters the content in the Yin Book, condemning you to death? Would you go along with that?" 0

"What? Is there such a thing?" Captain Wu exclaimed in shock. 0

Xiaomei rolled her eyes and replied angrily, "Of course! Do you think I'm lying to you?" 0

"But we have to sign in three days; otherwise, we have our own ways. This is the King of Hell's territory; even a strong dragon can't overpower a local snake," I voiced my concerns. 0

"Don't worry; we still have time. Do you know why King Yan has been driven to kill by the Heavenly God?" Xiaomei looked at us and asked. 0

Captain Wu and I exchanged puzzled glances as Xiaomei continued, "I found this from the memories of the King of the Earth. Even though you already have ten fragmented souls, some of your memories are still not fully unlocked. But I can know this: from the sealed memories, when the King of the Earth faced trouble back then, chaos erupted in the human realm. People suffered everywhere, and the souls within the King of the Earth were forcibly separated. Originally, he could have returned in his previous life, but during his return process, he was stopped by someone—namely, King Yan. Using the powers of the Underworld, King Yan scattered those fragmented souls again, preventing them from reuniting. Thus, in that previous life, chaos reigned in the human realm because the King of the Earth did not return to protect it while things above were also disturbed. There was no time to send someone down to govern. At that moment, King Yan took advantage of the turmoil between heaven and earth to come down and capture some newborn children from the human realm, erasing their names from the death ledger in the Underworld. With that stroke, those children ceased to exist in the human realm. However, this did not erase their parents' memories; their children vanished without reason while no one around them knew they had ever existed. This led those grieving parents to suspicion. By chance, these parents gathered together and suspected that it was King Yan's doing. They began collecting evidence against him over a long period. During this time, King Yan became aware and sent Yin Soldiers to retrieve that evidence from the human realm." 0

"But how could these parents hand over their hard-earned evidence to King Yan? So he decided to kill them one by one. Originally, he thought this would end everything. However, he did not anticipate that he had overlooked a pair of parents who encountered a heavenly deity sent down to manage affairs in the human realm and handed over their collected evidence." 0

"This deity was responsible and originally a person from the human realm in a past life. Upon seeing the evidence, he became furious and reported it to Heavenly God. Since humans are subjects of Heavenly God and so many had died at King Yan's hands, Heavenly God became enraged and dispatched many deities to search for King Yan in the Underworld but found none of those children there. Even with evidence in hand, they could not punish him; thus, Heavenly God confined King Yan within the Underworld." 0

After Xiaomei finished speaking, a surge of anger welled up inside me; I never expected King Yan to be such a person. 0

"In order to eliminate King Yan, we must find those missing children and release their souls; only then can we subdue him because those children's souls are evidence of King Yan violating Heavenly Rules. With that evidence, he can be dealt with by heavenly powers," Xiaomei explained. 0

I pondered for a moment but still felt a lingering worry—wasn't heaven still in chaos? How could they spare energy to deal with King Yan? 0

Seeing my worried expression, Xiaomei said, "I know what you're concerned about. Even though things are chaotic up there, the power of Heavenly Rules still exists within all three realms." 0

Upon hearing this, I felt a sense of relief wash over me. I asked Xiaomei what we should do, considering how vast the Underworld was and how we could possibly find the lost souls of those children. 0

Xiaomei pulled out an object—a white bottle filled with liquid. 0

"What is this?" I asked curiously. 0

"This is the tears of their parents. With this, we can locate the children's souls. I know of a place in the Underworld that is suspicious, called the River of Forgetfulness. That place is filled with stars," Xiaomei explained. 0

"That's not right. Even if it's full of stars, that's normal," Captain Wu interjected. 0

Xiaomei retorted, "Have you forgotten? This is the Underworld; there are no stars or moon here." 0

Captain Wu was left speechless by Xiaomei's words. 0

I glanced at Captain Wu's aggrieved expression and chuckled lightly. "We can't go out now anyway; there are too many Yin Soldiers outside. If we go out, it might not be safe. We need to find the right time." 0

Xiaomei walked to the door and opened it, seemingly checking something. After a while, she closed the door and said, "In one hour, we'll go out. However, we only have ten minutes to leave this place. Because after one hour, it will be daylight in the Underworld—the time we need to avoid. Every ghost or King of Hell in the Underworld has to seal themselves away to avoid being harmed by daylight. So for them, this time is dangerous, but for us, it's a good opportunity. Do you understand? As long as we leave this area within those ten minutes, we'll be fine." 0

After listening to her, Captain Wu and I nodded in agreement. To ensure our plan was foolproof, Xiaomei created two dummies that resembled me and Captain Wu. 0

With these dummies in place, we wouldn't reveal any flaws when the Underworld's inhabitants conducted their inspections. 0
