My heart suddenly ached, and I couldn't bear to meet Ruoxi's gaze.
Ruoxi seemed to be able to read my thoughts. She smiled and said, "Don't feel guilty; this is all what I want. You are my Wang Jun."
As she spoke, Ruoxi wrapped her arms around me.
I stiffened for a moment, feeling somewhat unaccustomed. The scent of Ruoxi was different from A Yao's, evoking a sense of strength within me.
I didn't push Ruoxi away because I had no reason to. My current identity had been revealed; in truth, Ruoxi was my legitimate wife, while A Yao was merely an accident.
Even so, my heart felt heavy. I couldn't shake the feeling that I was a bad person for hurting A Yao.
"Are you feeling guilty, Wang Jun?" Ruoxi asked as she pulled away from my embrace and looked at me.
I didn't want to lie to Ruoxi, so I nodded. She didn't say anything further but smiled instead. We fell into silence for a moment, and Ruoxi's hand rested on my chest, sending an unusual sensation through me.
Ruoxi began to unbutton my shirt, revealing the ten red dots on my chest. "Wang Jun, now you have inherited all the power of The King of the Earth. However, your identity is still not fully restored. You need to gather twelve red dots to become the true king."
"Where are the remaining two?" I asked.
"I don't know either," Ruoxi replied. "I can't sense their presence anymore."
Her words sparked something in me. "You mean before, you could feel them?"
Ruoxi nodded and confirmed that she could sense them, which was why she brought me here—because this place also held the remnants of my soul.
Upon hearing this, I finally understood why so many red dots had appeared on my chest.
"However, my husband, don't be anxious. I feel that the last two should be nearby," Ruoxi said.
"What do you mean by nearby?" Her words made me feel a surge of excitement.
Ruoxi nodded seriously, walked to the window, and pointed outside. "Wang Jun, come here. I want to show you something."
I immediately got out of bed and looked in the direction she was pointing. It was a riverside area that clearly did not belong to Paper Mache Street but was outside the barrier.
"What happened at that place?" I asked Ruoxi.
She replied, "Just now, there were traces of the two remaining souls there, but they disappeared in just a moment. The presence was very faint."
"Why don't we go take a look?" My heart suddenly raced with excitement.
Ruoxi turned to me and nodded. Just then, footsteps approached from outside the door; it was the Paper Mache Boss entering. He glanced out the window as if he had overheard our conversation and said, "Even if you go there, you won't find anything because the two remaining souls are not there."
"What do you mean? Do you know where they are?" I asked, feeling a bit agitated as I stepped closer to the Paper Mache Boss.
He smiled and said, "Of course I know. However, I have a condition for trading with you. After all, I've helped you quite a bit before; isn't it reasonable to bring this up?"
"What condition?" I quickly responded to the Paper Mache Boss.
The Paper Figurine Boss burst into laughter, as if my earlier response had already agreed to his terms. At that moment, Ruoxi stepped forward, walked up to me, and pulled me back, saying, "You know very well that this is impossible. How could he agree to you?"
As soon as Ruoxi spoke, the Paper Figurine Boss's expression darkened, a hint of anger flashing across his face. "How is it impossible? With his status, it is entirely feasible. There are no taboos that can trouble him."
Ruoxi's face also showed a rare anger. "You're right; there are no taboos that can trouble him, but it would come at a great cost."
I watched as Ruoxi and the Paper Figurine Boss argued back and forth, feeling a bit of a headache. What were these two talking about? I couldn't understand a single word.
"What do you want me to agree to?" I asked directly before the Paper Figurine Boss could speak, cutting off the argument between him and Ruoxi.
The Paper Figurine Boss turned his gaze toward me, chuckling as he said, "At least the little brother understands. As long as you agree, that's all that matters. I won't harm you."
Just as I was about to respond, Ruoxi interjected. Her expression was serious as she said, "Wang Jun, you cannot agree to him."
"Fine. If that's the case, then we might as well wait for death. After all, this world will eventually be destroyed. And there's a secret that you don't know," the Paper Figurine Boss suddenly declared.
"What secret?" Ruoxi and I asked in unison.
"Ha! If you kill the leader of the Ghost Gate Cult, then this world will be doomed along with the Celestial Realm and the Underworld."
"What are you saying? That's impossible! The Heavenly Book doesn't mention anything about this," Ruoxi stepped forward to argue.
"Heh heh, do you still believe in the Heavenly Book? The Heavenly Book lost its credibility in the last cycle; what it predicts now is all false," the Paper Figurine Boss replied.
"What is going on?" Ruoxi's face turned pale.
The Paper Offering Boss smiled and took out a book, which was black. "This is the useful Heavenly Book, but it’s not called the Heavenly Book; it’s called the Grimoire. You probably don’t know this, but when the Three Realms were formed, the Heavenly Book and the Grimoire came into existence. They were created in different places, and no one knew about the Grimoire because it was said that when the Three Realms were formed, only the Heavenly Book would be born. The Heavenly Book can predict heavenly events, while the Grimoire was sealed away by murky energy, and no one could sense its presence."
Upon hearing this, Ruoxi trembled slightly and nearly fell to the ground, but fortunately, I caught her.
"Ruoxi, are you okay?" I asked with concern.
Ruoxi shook her head at me, indicating that she was fine. Then she turned her gaze back to the Paper Offering Boss and said, "What else do you know?"
The Paper Offering Boss chuckled and said, "I also know that after this young brother dealt with the Ghost Gate Cult, the entire Three Realms were destroyed, and..."
At this point, the Paper Offering Boss deliberately glanced at me but fell silent.
"You’re really despicable," Ruoxi scolded the Paper Offering Boss.
The Paper Offering Boss didn’t mind; his smile deepened as he looked at me, seemingly waiting for me to make a decision.
I glanced at Ruoxi and saw her expression filled with helplessness. I realized that what the Paper Offering Boss had just said must be true. Ruoxi seemed to be worried about something, and I naturally couldn’t let her worry about me any longer. I nodded at the Paper Offering Boss, and Ruoxi sighed.
A wave of oppression washed over me. Seeing this, the Paper Offering Boss smiled and said, "Isn’t that right? Besides, this isn’t necessarily a bad thing."
Ruoxi snorted coldly and stopped looking at the Paper Offering Boss. My attention remained on what the Paper Offering Boss had just said.
"You said this world will be destroyed," I asked.
The Paper Figurine Boss nodded and said, "Yes, I saw it in the Grimoire. However, the reason for the destruction is that you killed the leader of the Ghost Gate Cult."
I paused; was killing him not an option?
"The leader of the Ghost Gate Cult is your remaining soul," the Paper Figurine Boss said seriously.
In an instant, both Ruoxi and I were stunned.
"What did you say?" Ruoxi exclaimed, clearly agitated.
"I made myself clear. If I'm not mistaken, this young brother has already gathered ten red dots just now," the Paper Figurine Boss's eyes glimmered with a hint of excitement.
Ruoxi and I exchanged glances and nodded. The Paper Figurine Boss continued, "And recently, the leader of the Ghost Gate Cult has secretly colluded with the Celestial Officials and Yin Officials from the Heavenly Realm and Underworld to covertly seize positions in heaven and addresses on earth. It can be said that both the Heavenly Emperor and Yama Lord have already been controlled. Once anything happens to the leader of the Ghost Gate Cult, both the Heavenly Realm and Underworld will face disaster. Not to mention what will happen to the Yang Realm."
By this point, I had begun to believe the Paper Figurine Boss. The people I had seen at the Feast of Demons a few days ago were solid proof.

For a moment, Ruoxi and I were taken aback by what the Paper Figurine Boss had said, left speechless.
