I looked at Captain Wu, who was pointing at the middle of Jiao Long's body. "There’s a pearl here," he said. 0

I glanced over and saw something shiny inside Jiao Long's body that indeed resembled a pearl. I picked it up and found that the glowing orb was warm and quite soft. 0

"This seems like an egg," Captain Wu said curiously, touching it with his hand and discovering the soft texture. 0

I nodded in agreement with Captain Wu's observation. At that moment, the egg began to change; somehow, it detached from my grasp. 0

Suddenly, a beam of light burst forth from within and entered my body, bringing with it a wave of heat. 0

I furrowed my brow as this warmth flowed from my throat down into my chest and settled there. 0

I was taken aback and pulled at my shirt, only to find a red dot had appeared on my chest. 0

To my surprise, there were already four red dots on my chest. I had no idea what these dots represented. 0

Captain Wu noticed the red dots on my chest and exclaimed, "Little brother, those red dots on your chest must need to gather a certain number before they can unleash their true power." 0

I paused for a moment and admitted I didn’t know. However, Captain Wu's words served as a reminder, prompting me to connect all the information I had. 0

A sudden realization struck me, but I shook my head and looked at the fallen Jiao Long. After we extracted the item, Jiao Long's body shrank until it turned to ash. 0

"Is this Jiao Long dead?" Captain Wu asked. 0

I confirmed with a nod and suggested that Captain Wu take out the map. Although we were at school, it was large, and we needed to refer to the map for specific locations. 0

Captain Wu retrieved the map, and we began analyzing it closely. I glanced at it while searching my memory and finally pinpointed the location in the school's basement. Since our school had a medical department, the Dissection Room was located there. 0

I frowned; just mentioning the Dissection Room made me uneasy. I remembered sneaking into the basement with Chen Ming once; it felt incredibly eerie inside. 0

Taking a deep breath, I followed Captain Wu to the entrance of the basement. This part of the school still seemed intact. 0

"Why is there no one here? This feels off," Captain Wu remarked. 0

I nodded cautiously, glancing around. The surroundings were eerily quiet; usually, such a calm environment concealed great danger. 0

"Should we go in?" Captain Wu asked me. 0

I looked back at the entrance before shifting my gaze to Captain Wu. "Yes, but wait a moment. I need to scout first." 0

With that, I took out the Paper Man from my pocket and dripped my blood onto it. Perhaps due to the fourth red dot that had appeared on my chest, my blood quickly emitted a faint red glow upon touching the Paper Man, which then slowly seeped into its interior. 0

Next, I noticed white mist emerging from the Paper Man's body. Not only that, but the Paper Man in my hand began to twitch. 0

"Little brother, what's happening?" Captain Wu's face showed some concern. 0

"It's nothing; the Paper Man is coming back to life." After saying this, I placed the Paper Man on the ground. 0

A cloud of White Mist instantly enveloped the Paper Man. Moments later, it stood up as if it were a living person. 0

Captain Wu seemed a bit frightened and stepped behind me. I couldn't help but chuckle. Turning to the Paper Man, I pointed towards the basement entrance. The Paper Man understood my intention and walked into the entrance. 0

"Little brother, what are you doing?" Captain Wu asked. 0

"I'm checking the situation inside; it's safer this way," I explained. 0

Captain Wu paused for a moment and said, "Is this really effective? What can a Paper Man do?" 0

I smiled and replied, "This isn't an ordinary Paper Man." 0

Seeing my mysterious demeanor, Captain Wu perked up and asked if there was something special about the Paper Man. 0

I nodded and explained that I had infused a bit of consciousness into it, meaning the Paper Man would serve as our eyes. Once it emerged, it would relay what it saw back to us. 0

After hearing this, Captain Wu appeared quite excited as we both waited quietly. 0

Time passed for quite a while, but the Paper Man still hadn't returned. Captain Wu grew anxious and said, "Little brother, is there something wrong with your Paper Man?" 0

I confidently told Captain Wu, "No one can harm the Paper Man except for the leader of the Ghost Gate Cult. Everyone else is no match." 0

Captain Wu opened his mouth, then closed it again, nodding in agreement. Seeing his expression made my heart sink with worry. At that moment, I caught sight of the Paper Man's shadow and felt a surge of excitement. 0

The Paper Man approached me, and I immediately asked if there were many people trapped inside him. 0

He nodded eagerly and then drew a detailed map of the interior right in front of Captain Wu and me, complete with annotations. 0

"Little brother, I think there's something strange about this blueprint," Captain Wu remarked as he studied it. 0

I turned to him and asked, "What do you mean by strange?" 0

Captain Wu pointed at the lines drawn by the small Paper Man. "Look here and here. I've been to your school before, especially the Dissection Room. It wasn't like this before; take another look." 0

His words caught my attention. I examined the drawing more closely and noticed that the basement seemed much more spacious, as if someone had opened it up. 0

I quickly thought about it; next to the Dissection Room was the classroom where bodies were stored. Could they be connected? 0

The realization hit me hard—there must be many people trapped down there. The thought of bringing so many people out was daunting. 0

"I think we're in big trouble; it's not easy with so many people," I voiced my concerns. 0

Captain Wu frowned deeply and sighed, "We can't just leave half of them behind." 0

I immediately replied, "No, everyone here must be taken with us. Let me think of a way." 0

Suddenly, I felt a warm sensation in my head, as if something was about to emerge. A cloud of black mist floated out from my mind and landed on the ground, revealing a child. 0

"Brother Wang Niu, I have a plan," the child said proudly. 0

My eyes lit up instantly as I asked him what his plan was. 0

The child extended his hand and pointed into the air. In an instant, I felt a wave of energy, and moments later, a scene appeared before me. 0

I was a bit confused and didn't understand what the child meant, so I asked him. 0

The child smiled and explained, "Brother Wang Niu, with so many people, it's impossible to safely take them away unless I let them enter my Illusory Barrier. Once we reach a safe place, I will release them from the barrier. This way, they will be safe, and we won't have to take any risks. But there is a condition." 0

"What condition?" I looked at the child, but he seemed quite embarrassed. I quickly lost my patience and pressed him for an answer. 0

The child chuckled and said, "I will need to draw some Yang Qi from them. It's essential because my illusion needs to be nourished by the Yang Qi of humans; otherwise, it will backfire on me." 0

Upon hearing this, my heart grew heavy. If that were the case, would it harm those people's bodies or minds? 0

The child seemed to sense my concern and said, "Brother Wang Niu, don't worry! This amount of Yang Qi won't cause them any harm." 0

With that reassurance, I felt relieved and agreed to the child's plan. 0

I memorized the route drawn by the Paper Man and followed Captain Wu and the child into the basement. 0

Just as we were about to enter, the child suddenly stopped us and said, "Be careful; there's Miasma here. If you inhale it, it could lead to serious trouble." 0

Captain Wu and I exchanged surprised glances before turning our attention back to what lay ahead. Before us was a wide path with nothing in sight. 0

The child seemed to understand our confusion and suddenly stretched out his hand to draw in front of him. Slowly, Captain Wu and I began to notice something was off; thin strands of black mist appeared before us, and in just a moment, the mist grew thicker and heavier. 0
