The man understood the kindness and affection of women, but his heart was bound to humanity. The demons and monsters had been eliminated, and only one step remained to allow humanity to live happily once more. Thus, the man took a shocking step. 0

He killed the woman, and in her final moments, tears filled her eyes. "Why is it that in both lives, you never held me in your heart?" 0

After she spoke, the woman transformed into a point of light and vanished before the man's eyes. 0

It seemed the man realized something, and tears appeared on his face. 0

At that moment, I understood that the man bore a striking resemblance to me, while the woman in the scene looked remarkably like Ruoxi. 0

In an instant, the image felt as if it had exploded, causing me such pain that I nearly bit my own tongue. Then, I fell into darkness, losing consciousness. I had no idea how long it lasted until I felt a chill enveloping me, prompting me to open my eyes. 0

It was Captain Wu and Xiaomei. 0

I blinked, somewhat dazed. What had just happened? 0

Xiaomei's gaze remained as cold as before. "What did you see just now?" 0

"I saw the past," I replied. 0

I knew that what I had just witnessed was not simple nor conjured from thin air. 0

I sensed it must be connected to the third red dot on my chest. 0

Xiaomei's expression softened slightly as she said, "Do you understand the sacrifice Princess made for you? And this is not all; you will gradually discover more. Enough talk; hurry and merge with Princess." 0

I nodded and walked over to Ruoxi alongside Xiaomei. After a short while, Ruoxi's condition worsened again. 0

"What is happening? Why are we aging so rapidly?" I couldn't help but ask Xiaomei. 0

Xiaomei sighed and said, "That half of the cultivation is very important to the Princess. Losing half of it means becoming an ordinary person. Don't forget, the Princess has lived through several lifetimes." 0

"Does that mean Miss Ruoxi is also a monster?" Captain Wu, upon hearing this, became visibly agitated and took a step back. 0

Xiaomei immediately glared at Captain Wu and said, "You're the monster! Our Princess is a Heavenly God. If you say another word, I'll eat you right now!" 0

With that, Xiaomei transformed into her fox form. Seeing this, Captain Wu stepped back a few more paces, fear evident on his face. I felt a bit helpless and asked Xiaomei if she could help me merge with Ruoxi. 0

Xiaomei then returned to her original form and nodded at me. Merging required intense concentration, so I asked Captain Wu to stand guard outside and not let anyone in. 0

After Captain Wu left, Xiaomei instructed me to help Ruoxi sit up and face her. 0

I nodded and climbed onto the bed to sit opposite Ruoxi. 0

Xiaomei stood beside us, guiding the process. 0

I closed my eyes and focused entirely on merging with Ruoxi. 0

Suddenly, I felt a wave of heat enveloping both me and Ruoxi. The warmth intensified, and soon I was sweating profusely. 0

I realized this was the energy within me and Ruoxi interacting with each other. 0

I endured the intense heat as beads of sweat trickled down my body. This state persisted for quite some time. 0

Eventually, I sensed the heat beginning to subside, and it felt as though Ruoxi and I were merging into one. A refreshing coolness washed over my heart. 0

Gradually, a surge of power flowed from my body into Ruoxi's. After a while, a cool gas also entered my body; it seemed like our energies were exchanging. 0

"Success," Xiaomei's voice reminded me. 0

I felt a surge of joy and opened my eyes. Ruoxi was lying on the bed, and my heart ached as I helped her sit up. Her face was drenched in sweat, so I reached out to wipe it away before gently laying her back down. 0

Now, Ruoxi's complexion had returned to a healthy flush, just like before, and I couldn't help but feel relieved. 0

"This time you have a bit of conscience. Remember, you can betray anyone, but not the Princess, understand? Otherwise, I'll be the first to kill you," Xiaomei warned me. 0

I nodded, thinking of something I wanted to ask her. But as I opened my mouth, Xiaomei shot me a glare and said, "I don't know. Don't ask me. If you think it's true, then it is; if not, then it's not. The timing isn't right. If I say anything now, it will ruin everything." 0

I was taken aback for a moment. Realizing that Xiaomei was my guardian spirit, I decided not to press further. 0

Xiaomei and I stepped outside, and Captain Wu looked surprised to see us emerge so quickly. He approached us and said, "Little brother, I'm afraid we still need to save some people." 0

I asked Captain Wu what was going on. 0

He explained that while Xiaomei and I were merging with Ruoxi, the people we rescued informed him that many others like them had been captured by the Ghost Gate Cult and taken to a certain location. Those captives were referred to by the cult as 'food,' meaning they were intended to be cooked. 0

Upon hearing this, a wave of nausea washed over me. I couldn't believe how twisted the Ghost Gate Cult was; they actually consumed living beings. 0

I asked Captain Wu where exactly this location was. 0

Captain Wu replied that the people we rescued could lead us there. 0

After thinking for a moment, I felt uneasy about this plan and shook my head. "We can take what that person said and draw it out as a map. Otherwise, we'll have too many things to consider later on, and we might not be able to rescue those people." 0

Captain Wu considered my words and found them reasonable. He turned around and headed toward the area behind him. After a while, he returned with a piece of paper in hand. 0

"Little brother, this is the location they mentioned. I've drawn it out for you; take a look," he said as he handed me the map. 0

I let out a sound and took the blueprint, examining it carefully. This place— 0

"This is the location of our school," I said. 0

Upon hearing this, Captain Wu took the blueprint from my hands, looked it over again, and said, "Now that you mention it, it does look like it. Let's head out." 0

I nodded and asked Xiaomei to keep an eye on everything here. 0

Although this area had turned into ruins, I was still familiar with the layout since I had lived here for a while. 0

By the time we arrived at the school, the sky had already darkened. Captain Wu's face showed some unease as he glanced up at the sky multiple times, which piqued my curiosity. I asked him what was wrong. 0

"At this time of day, a Demon Dragon usually appears in the sky," Captain Wu replied. 0

I looked at him in confusion and asked what a Demon Dragon was. 0

Just as Captain Wu was about to speak, there was movement in the sky—a massive shadow was circling above us. 0

"Is that the Demon Dragon you mentioned?" I asked Captain Wu. 0

He nodded and said, "We need to be careful. If this Demon Dragon spots us, we could be burned alive by its demonic fire." 0

As he spoke, a long shadow suddenly lunged toward me and Captain Wu from the sky. Reacting quickly, I grabbed Captain Wu and dodged. 0

"That's not a Demon Dragon; it's a Jiao Long," I said. 0

"A Jiao Long?" Captain Wu sounded surprised. 0

I nodded and explained, "Dragons represent righteous power and cannot be manipulated by the Ghost Gate Cult. Only a Jiao Long can be. This Jiao Long looks very much like a True Dragon but lacks the True Dragon's aura of righteousness." 0

"What should we do?" 0

I pondered for a moment, and as I spoke, a strange sensation surged within me, lifting me off the ground. Captain Wu was momentarily stunned and quickly tried to grab hold of me, but it was futile. 0

I ascended into the sky, locking eyes with Jiao Long. Her large eyes gleamed with an eerie blue light, signaling her anger. 0

At that moment, a beam of light enveloped both Jiao Long and me. 0

The light struck Jiao Long's eyes, causing her to instinctively cover them with her front claws. 0

"Brother Wang Niu, why are you just standing there? Hurry up and take out your sword and stab it!" A child's voice called out. 0

Sword. 0

I was taken aback. Where did the sword come from? 0

Suddenly, I felt a warmth in my chest, accompanied by a slight itch. Instinctively, I looked down to see the third red dot on my chest flying out, transforming into a sphere of light. Then, as the light faded, a sword appeared—exactly like the one I had encountered with Captain Wu at that cave. 0

With Jiao Long present, I couldn't afford to dwell on my confusion any longer. I immediately grasped the sword, only to realize that it seemed to possess a will of its own. 0
