Captain Wu couldn't hear my voice. He kept calling my name, sounding increasingly worried that something had happened to me. I quickly responded, assuring him that I was fine and suggested he look for Uncle Tiger, as I might have walked into a barrier. 0

Upon hearing this, Captain Wu became even more anxious, urging me to be extra careful. 0

I acknowledged him and hung up the phone. 0

Now, I was all alone. I set my bag down and took out some Joss Paper from inside. I lit it on fire and tossed it in front of me; this was meant to pay the ghosts for safe passage, ensuring that those who accepted the offering would not trouble me further. 0

The Joss Paper fell to the ground and quickly began to emit thick black smoke. 0

My heart sank further; this was not a good sign. It indicated that there were many ghosts around me, yet I couldn't see them all, which made me feel even more uneasy. 0

Just in case, I took out a pair of underwear from my bag and placed it on myself; this was said to scare off ghosts. 0

I was getting closer to the last room, and my heart raced faster with each step. 0

Suddenly, the flame ahead extinguished without warning, and with it, the light disappeared. My heart skipped a beat. 0

Then I heard a very strange sound. Frowning, I focused my gaze on the third-to-last room, where the noise seemed to be coming from. 0

I gasped quietly and cautiously approached the third room, opening the door. 0

Inside looked like an ordinary guest room, but the only difference was that there were two coffins present. 0

One was a Small Coffin. 0

The other was an Old Coffin. 0

I froze for a moment; then I heard a thumping sound coming from the Small Coffin. Startled, I wondered if there was still a living person inside. 0

But in such an environment, could that even be possible? 0

To be safe, I pulled out a talisman and discreetly held it in my hand as I walked toward the Small Coffin. The lid of the coffin kept moving restlessly. 0

I looked at the coffin lid in confusion; it didn't seem sealed at all. 0

At that moment, I noticed something written on the underside of the lid, resembling a spell or incantation, and it looked freshly inscribed. 0

Driven by curiosity, I reached out and touched it, only to inadvertently smudge the writing away. 0

Suddenly, the coffin lid was pushed open, releasing a cloud of dust that choked me. Before I could react, it felt as if someone had pressed down on my back. 0

“Giggle, brother, you’re here,” a chilling male voice whispered in my ear. 0

In an instant, a wave of numbness washed over my entire body, even my scalp tingled with unease. 0

The weight on my back grew heavier, as if it were automatically increasing. 0

“Brother, why aren’t you speaking? Hehe, let me tell you, you can’t escape from here. Giggling.” 0

In a flash, I sprang to my feet and forcefully shrugged off the oppressive presence on my shoulders. 0

As I turned around, I was met with the pale face of a child. 0

I knew this child was not human. 0

Just as I prepared to pull out the talisman in my hand to confront the child, I noticed their gaze fixated on it before returning to me. The smile on the child's lips was disturbingly eerie. 0

“Brother, are you planning to use that talisman against me?” the child asked, tilting their head. 0

A chill ran down my spine as I swallowed hard; this child seemed different from ordinary spirits—intelligent and cunning. 0

"As long as you don't oppose me," I said. 0

The child suddenly laughed and took a step closer to me, their expression shifting constantly. 0

A growing unease settled in my heart; I couldn't tell if this child was friend or foe. 0

Just as the child approached me, a noise came from outside, causing my heart to tremble again. At that moment, the child's face changed, and they rushed to my side, pulling me into a coffin with them. No sooner had we laid down than the lid closed over us. I opened my eyes wide in terror, ready to struggle when the child's voice reached my ears. "Brother, if you don't want to die, don't say a word. Do you know whose noise is coming from outside?" 0

The child's words stunned me into silence; it seemed they had no intention of harming me. 0

Then I heard the creaking of the door. My body tensed immediately, as if the noise I had just heard had entered this room. 0

Soon after, footsteps drew closer and closer. 0

Could it be a person? 0

Before long, the noise ceased. Just as I was about to get up, I realized I was being pressed down by some force. The child's voice echoed in my ears again. "Brother, don't go out; the thing outside hasn't left. It's watching us." 0

My body shuddered at that thought—if it was watching us, it surely knew where we were. 0

It seemed the child could sense my thoughts and quickly explained, "Brother, don't worry; that thing can't harm us." 0

Not long after the child spoke those words, I heard footsteps outside again, but they seemed to be moving away. 0

After a while, the child helped me out of the coffin. My heart still racing, I patted my chest and looked at the child with a mix of emotions swirling inside me. 0

"How long have you been here?" I asked. 0

"Always here, this world was originally one born from reproduction," the child said. 0

I was taken aback for a moment, born from reproduction. 0

The child nodded, stepped out of the room, glanced down the hallway, and after a while, waved for me to come over. 0

Pointing to a green dot that appeared on the left, the child said, "Brother, do you see that green dot? Walk towards it, and you'll find your way out. Also, don't come here; this place is not the source at all. It's merely a vessel for storing energy. The real source is on the mountain across from the hotel; that's where you'll find what you're looking for." 0

"What do you mean? This is an energy vessel? Is the entire hotel being treated as an energy vessel?" I asked in astonishment. 0

The child nodded and pointed out the window. "Brother, look at that mountain." 0

I immediately moved to the window and looked towards the mountain. The entire mountain was emanating an eerie green light. Not only that, but I also saw yellow light radiating from within the hotel, which was directly transmitted to the mountain across. 0

At that moment, the child walked over and said, "Brother, did you see that? To completely clear this barrier, we must sever the energy source within the mountain." 0

I turned back to look at the child. Severing the energy source within the mountain shouldn't be easy. Moreover, Captain Wu and I still had a significant case unresolved here, which also involved the Ghost Gate Cult. But could this be related to it? 0

After all, items from the hotel had appeared at the crime scene. 0

With a mindset of giving it a try, I asked the child if he knew about the Ghost Gate Cult. To my surprise, upon hearing those words, the child's expression turned ferocious in an instant, becoming somewhat frightening. 0

"What’s wrong with you?" I asked. 0

The child's expression quickly returned to normal as he shook his head and said it was nothing, pushing me out. 0

I had originally wanted to ask more about the Ghost Gate Cult, but as he pushed me, I was suddenly drawn into the small green dot before me. In an instant, I heard a whirring sound in my ears. When I opened my eyes again, I found myself back in a normal space. 0

At that moment, I heard footsteps approaching, seemingly in a hurry. To be safe, I hid away, unsure if it was an enemy. 0

To my surprise, it turned out to be Uncle Tiger and Captain Wu. 0

I immediately walked over to greet them. Captain Wu paused for a moment and asked if I was alright. 0

I shook my head, but Uncle Tiger's expression turned serious at that moment as he asked me what I had encountered earlier. 0

I was taken aback and didn't understand why Uncle Tiger was being so stern. 0

Uncle Tiger scolded me again, and only then did I start to explain what had happened. 0

Upon hearing my account, Uncle Tiger's expression remained tense, growing even more serious. 0

This piqued my curiosity, and I asked Uncle Tiger what was wrong. 0

After a while, Uncle Tiger finally spoke. "It seems like a storm is brewing. It's the Dragon Head Ritual again, along with the Heaven-Defying Ritual." 0

I was stunned and looked at Captain Wu, who nodded in agreement. It seemed that Captain Wu had informed Uncle Tiger about the events of the past few days. However, this was a good thing; it meant we could have some help on our side. 0
