I told Captain Wu that I just saw the body of Qiman. CaptainWu was stunned for a moment and asked me where I was. I pointed to the place where Qiman just appeared. Captain Wu asked me if I was right, how could Qiman be here? I told Captain Wu what Xiaomei told me before, Captain Wu was stunned at first, and then asked me, What is there? I shook my head and said, Xiaomei is not clear about it, I don’t know, but Xiaomei seems to have not appeared for several days. Afterwards, Captain Wu and I searched for Qiman’s body nearby. Now, I am not afraid of Qiman, because there is something given by Uncle Tiger. "Little brother, look what this is," Captain Wu said, pointing to a pool of liquid on the ground. I stopped and looked at the pool of liquid pointed by Captain Wu. It seemed to be a pool of Black Blood, but how could there be Black Blood? I squatted down and sniffed, but unexpectedly... I smelled a stench, could it be Qiman's flow? "Little brother, there are some here, come and see" Captain Wu pointed to the front and said. I responded and pointed in the direction of Captain Wu. There really was a Black Blood that was exactly the same as the one on the ground. In an instant, I understood that as long as I followed these that were left on the ground, Black Blood, aren't you able to find Qiman? Captain Wu and I have been looking for traces on the ground, but unexpectedly we followed him to a remote place in tears. Captain Wu stopped and pulled me to prevent me from going forward. "Little brother, let's not go. You see, the terrain here does not use us. There are mountains on all sides, and there is only a forest in front of us. And, Don't you feel that she is deliberately leading us in, and maybe she has laid a trap for us?"
I nodded in agreement with Captain Wu's words, but we could no longer delay dealing with Qiman. Even if it was a trap, we had to handle it; otherwise, who knew what might happen next?
I certainly didn't want A Yao to suffer like this any longer.
After thinking for a moment, I said to Captain Wu, "It's fine. No matter what, we have to face it."
Seeing my determination, Captain Wu didn't say anything more. He simply nodded and followed me inside.
As we entered the forest ahead, the cawing of crows echoed around us, creating an unsettling atmosphere. The eerie sounds reverberated above us continuously.
"Little brother, I have a feeling that something is coming at us fast," Captain Wu remarked.
I glanced around; the atmosphere felt strange. From the moment we stepped in, it was as if we were already shaking hands with danger.
I quickly set down my bag and pulled out the compass inside to take some readings.
Captain Wu looked puzzled and asked what I was doing.
Without answering, I continued my measurements. The needle on the compass spun wildly, which was very concerning; the magnetic field here was abnormal.
This indicated that there was more than just Qiman here; there might be other entities as well.
I hurriedly took out another item from my bag and handed it to Captain Wu for self-defense. It was a pouch of Rice Dou filled with rice that could deal with supernatural beings.
This rice wasn't ordinary; it had been infused with special properties by Uncle Tiger.
Just then, the compass needle suddenly stopped moving and pointed to the left. My heart skipped a beat, and I immediately told Captain Wu, "Quick, scatter the rice in front of us!"
Upon hearing this, Captain Wu promptly followed my instructions and scattered a handful of rice ahead. In an instant, sparks flew up before us.
I immediately pulled Captain Wu over, and at the same time, a dark figure appeared amidst the sparks, resembling some kind of animal.
Without hesitation, I drew the wooden sword I had been holding, gritted my teeth, and charged at the black figure, plunging the sword deep into its body. Instantly, the creature let out a mournful cry, and within seconds, Captain Wu and I watched as it transformed into black mist and vanished.
I couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief; I hadn't expected to encounter danger so quickly.
Captain Wu stepped in front of me and asked, "Are you okay, little brother?"
I shook my head and assured him that I was fine. Just as we were about to move deeper inside, suddenly, laughter echoed around us—female laughter.
"Little brother, we have a new situation. We need to be careful," Captain Wu said to me.
I nodded cautiously, scanning our surroundings. At that moment, I suddenly recalled that the laughter sounded eerily like Qiman's voice.
Could it be that Qiman was watching us from somewhere?
The thought sent chills down my spine.
I warned Captain Wu to be on guard; danger might be lurking nearby. He instinctively drew his gun and surveyed the area with caution.
Just then, I felt someone behind me. I quickly turned around but was startled to find a face pressed close to mine. I gasped in shock, and in the next second, that face was right against my eyes. Instantly, everything went dark.
Pain followed along with Captain Wu's shout.
Then everything faded away; it seemed Qiman had made her move.
When we regained consciousness, we found ourselves tied up in a large pot.
I stared blankly for a moment before fear flooded my mind. Surely they weren't planning to cook us alive?
I looked over at Captain Wu; he was still unconscious. Panic set in as I called out his name repeatedly, but he showed no signs of waking. Just then, I heard footsteps approaching.
My heart sank sharply as I turned to look in the direction of the commotion, only to find Qiman's family there.
"What are you doing? Do you know this is illegal?" I shouted at them loudly.
To my surprise, they seemed unconcerned by my words and instead said something that sent chills down my spine.
"Illegal? Ha ha, that's something you say to humans. We are not human." After they finished speaking, my scalp tingled with fear.
I watched in horror as they peeled off their human skin, revealing white bones underneath.
I was momentarily stunned. What was happening here?
Could it be that Qiman's family were all monsters?
"Ha ha, are you scared? Don't worry, you'll die soon enough," one of the skeletal figures closest to me said, glaring at me with a sinister gaze.
"What exactly are you?" I suddenly felt a tightness in my chest.
They erupted into cackling laughter upon hearing my question. At that moment, Qiman slowly emerged, accompanied by an incredibly strange odor.
Upon seeing Qiman, the skeletal figures quickly retreated.
For some reason, I felt that Qiman was terrifying at that moment, like an Evil Spirit from hell, opening its mouth as if it wanted to devour me and Captain Wu.
Noticing that I was staring at her, Qiman smirked and said, "Wang Niu, if you have questions, just ask. I'm a good person. If you fall into the hands of others, they won't let you know before you die."
Others...
My heart skipped a beat. Were there more people watching me?
"Who are you? Who are they? Why do you want to harm us?"
Qiman chuckled lightly and sat down in front of me, the strange odor emanating from her almost choking me.
"Do you know about the Ghost Gate Cult?" Qiman suddenly asked.
The mention of the Ghost Gate Cult made my eyes widen. Why was it always about the Ghost Gate Cult? Could it be that Qiman was working with He Wei?
"What is your relationship with He Wei?" I asked, my voice filled with excitement.
Qiman looked at me indifferently, as if she had never heard of He Wei. "I don't know him. Because of the Ghost Gate Cult, I have to kill you. Only then can we Bone Demons obtain the secret techniques of the Ghost Gate Cult and truly become human, no longer needing to wear this damned human skin."
"You are part of the Ghost Gate Cult."
Qiman shook her head, leaning closer to me with a sinister smile on her lips. "Wang Niu, it seems you really don't know about the Ghost Gate Cult. And it appears you are also unaware of the Ghost Order."
