"Don't worry, when I called you, do you remember the lantern we saw at the corner? Go let the female ghost take it down, then let her put her blood inside, and after that, bow three times to the lantern to wake it up." 0

Xiaomei's words instantly excited me, and I immediately relayed her message to the female ghost. 0

Upon hearing this, the female ghost showed a reluctant expression, which made my heart feel uneasy. What if she changed her mind again? 0

I secretly glanced at Captain Wu, but to my surprise, he looked quite helpless. 0

After a while, the female ghost finally agreed and said she wanted me to accompany her; otherwise, what if we ran away? 0

Reluctantly, I followed the female ghost to the corner. She took down the lantern above and then dripped her blood into it as I instructed. 0

"You can bow now," the female ghost told me. 0

I nodded, and she bowed a few times to the lantern. After finishing, she looked at herself and said, "Why hasn't my resentment dissipated yet?" 0

I was somewhat speechless but still spoke to her in a very gentle tone, "It won't happen that quickly. Just wait a bit longer; maybe your resentment will fade away." 0

The female ghost responded with an "mm" and fell silent. I also kept quiet. As time passed, her resentment still hadn't disappeared, which made me anxious. I kept calling Xiaomei's name in my mind, but there was no response from her. 0

My heart raced even more. What if Xiaomei let me down at this critical moment? 0

"Why isn't it working? Are you trying to deceive me?" The female ghost suddenly became impatient. 0

I was startled and quickly replied, "How could we deceive you? It definitely takes time to eliminate resentment. You've been here for so long; it can't just disappear that quickly." 0

The female ghost glared at me fiercely. In an instant, I felt cold sweat on my palms and back. I took a deep breath, and just then, I noticed that the resentment on the female ghost was gradually fading away. This immediately eased my anxious heart. 0

"You see, the resentment is fading away," I said, pointing at the ghost's body. 0

The ghost looked at herself and, seeing the resentment dissipating, a smile spread across her face. 0

Before long, all the resentment on the ghost had completely vanished, which made me very happy. It seemed that Captain Wu and I had escaped danger. 0

After the resentment disappeared from the ghost, the atmosphere in the alley changed as well. The once gloomy ambiance suddenly brightened, as if sunlight and fresh air could finally seep in from outside. 0

I felt a surge of joy and said to the ghost, "Let's go outside." 0

The ghost nodded, and we walked toward the exit just as Captain Wu entered from outside, holding two umbrellas. 0

"Come on, you two go inside. This way, it will be easier for us to take you out," Captain Wu said. 0

Not long after his words, the ghost and the Ghost Bride transformed into a wisp of smoke and entered the umbrellas. 0

I admired Captain Wu for his thoughtfulness; I hadn’t expected him to plan so well. 0

Captain Wu and I left the alley. Since we were carrying two ghosts with us, we didn’t head straight back to the police station but instead returned to our place. Just then, Uncle Tiger came back. As soon as I spotted him, I immediately told Captain Wu to stop the car. 0

After getting out of the car, I directly informed Uncle Tiger about everything that had happened. 0

Upon hearing this, Uncle Tiger's expression instantly darkened. He scolded me loudly for casually signing a Ghost Contract with a ghost. 0

Faced with Uncle Tiger's furious outburst, I felt somewhat at a loss for words; I didn’t even know what to say. 0

After a moment of stalemate, Uncle Tiger sighed and said, "Do you know what the consequences are when you sign a Ghost Contract?" 0

I then relayed what the female ghost had told us to Uncle Tiger, but to my surprise, he shook his head and said it wasn't that simple. 0

Hearing this made me feel uneasy for some reason, and I asked Uncle Tiger what was wrong. 0

Uncle Tiger shook his head and said, "Remember this in the future: you can't just sign a Ghost Contract casually, especially you. You're different from others." 0

His words caught my attention immediately. Did Uncle Tiger know something I didn't? 0

"Uncle Tiger, are you hiding something from me?" I asked him cautiously. 0

Uncle Tiger gave my head a firm tap and said, "Don't ask what you shouldn't. You'll find out in due time. Now, let me help you and Captain Wu deal with the mess you've gotten yourselves into." 0

I felt a bit wronged but didn't dare to say anything. Just then, Captain Wu got out of the car, holding two umbrellas and grinning as he walked up to Uncle Tiger. 0

Uncle Tiger shot Captain Wu a glare and took the two umbrellas from him. 0

"Uncle, what's inside these?" 0

Before Captain Wu could finish his sentence, Uncle Tiger interjected, "I know what it is; it's just two ghosts, right?" 0

Captain Wu looked at Uncle Tiger in surprise, but Uncle Tiger ignored him and instructed me to go to his room and fetch his bag. 0

I was taken aback. I remembered that Uncle Tiger hadn't brought a bag when he arrived earlier. However, I didn't ask any further questions and hurried into Uncle Tiger's room. To my astonishment, the bag he mentioned was lying on the bed. I picked it up immediately, but as soon as I did, I frowned; the bag looked small but was surprisingly heavy. 0

I handed the bag to Uncle Tiger, who passed me two umbrellas he was holding and instructed me to open them. He then told the spirits inside to stand under the umbrellas to avoid getting sunburned. I nodded, and Uncle Tiger began rummaging through the bag, though I had no idea what he was looking for. 0

Once I opened the umbrellas, the female ghost and the Ghost Bride appeared. I relayed Uncle Tiger's instructions to them. 0

After a while, Uncle Tiger pulled out a Black Ink Talisman and some Black Ink from the bag, mixing them together before drawing a circle on the ground. 0

Once everything was ready, Uncle Tiger instructed the two female ghosts to step inside the circle. As they entered, sparks suddenly erupted from their bodies. 0

I jumped back in shock and nervously asked Uncle Tiger if they were alright. Although they were ghosts, we had just signed a Ghost Contract with them; it wouldn't be right to harm them now. 0

Uncle Tiger shot me a glare and said, "Don't always be so impatient." 0

I awkwardly smiled and apologized. 0

Uncle Tiger didn't say anything further. At that moment, I noticed that the Ghostly Aura surrounding the female ghost and the Ghost Bride had vanished; it seemed they were truly about to turn human. 0

But then an unexpected event occurred. A cloud of white mist suddenly erupted from the ground, exploding and injuring both the female ghost and the Ghost Bride. Just as I was about to help them up, Uncle Tiger stopped me with a serious expression. "Do you want to get them—and yourself—killed?" 0

I froze and asked Uncle Tiger what was happening; weren't they fine just a moment ago? 0

Uncle Tiger frowned, thought for a moment, then said to me, "We're still missing one thing: their bodies." 0

I was taken aback—where could we find their bodies? 0

Captain Wu quickly reacted, asking the female ghost and the Ghost Bride if they knew where their bodies were. 0

The female ghost and the Ghost Bride weakly nodded in acknowledgment, indicating that they did know. 0

Upon learning of their bodies, we prepared to search for the ghost and handed the Ghost Bride over to Uncle Tiger. 0

As we were leaving, Uncle Tiger called me back and handed me his bag, saying that if anything happened, I could use the items inside to deal with it. 0

I glanced at the contents of the bag and was taken aback; I didn't know how to use any of these things. 0

Uncle Tiger looked at me and seemed to understand my concerns, assuring me that someone would tell me how to use them. 0

After saying this, Uncle Tiger picked up two umbrellas from the ground and carefully placed the ghost and the Ghost Bride back inside. He then walked into the house. Seeing this, I took the bag and got into the car with Captain Wu. 0

Captain Wu, with his keen eyes, noticed what Uncle Tiger had given me and joked, "Little brother, Uncle Tiger really treats you well, giving you all this stuff." 0

I replied with a simple "yeah," acknowledging that Uncle Tiger treated me like his own son. 0

Soon after, Captain Wu drove us to a Cursed Graveyard. The ghost's body was on the ground here, and we chose this location because it was broad daylight, which helped avoid unnecessary dangers. 0

According to the ghost's words, Captain Wu and I searched for a large tree in the Cursed Graveyard; the ghost's body was buried beneath it. 0

However, after searching for a while, we couldn't find any trees. 0
