Captain Wu had just finished the meeting and stepped outside. Seeing the large crowd gathered at the police station entrance, he approached to inquire what had happened. 0

I relayed the crowd's recent comments to Captain Wu. 0

After listening, Captain Wu's face grew serious. We then calmed the crowd before concluding our discussion. 0

Captain Wu called A Yao and me into his office, asking if we had any thoughts on the matter. 0

A Yao, not fully aware of the situation, shook his head and looked at me. At that moment, Captain Wu's gaze shifted to me as well. 0

I thought for a moment and gathered the crowd's words together, noticing a common point: River Bridge Cinema. 0

That River Bridge Cinema was where A Yao and I had watched a movie previously. 0

Coincidentally, so many ghosts had appeared there. This made me ponder whether it indicated something deeper. As I delved into my thoughts, I felt a chill run down my spine. 0

Seeing my sudden change in expression, Captain Wu and A Yao quickly asked what was wrong and if I felt unwell. I shook my head, but my demeanor turned grave. It was possible that the ghosts A Yao and I saw in the cinema were those missing persons. Of course, this was just speculation, but I immediately shared my suspicions with Captain Wu. 0

Upon hearing this, Captain Wu was startled and questioned whether I might be mistaken. With so many people having incidents at the cinema, it would have caused quite a stir; they couldn't possibly have heard nothing about it. 0

I understood Captain Wu's concerns; however, how could we explain the numerous ghosts appearing in the cinema? We would have to investigate further by returning to the cinema. 0

I voiced this idea, and after some hesitation, Captain Wu agreed. The presence of so many ghosts was indeed unsettling, while A Yao expressed worry and didn't want me to go. 0

After a brief standoff, both Captain Wu and A Yao consented. Before setting off with Captain Wu, I entrusted A Yao to another female officer. 0

Once A Yao was settled, I departed with Captain Wu. 0

On the way, Captain Wu joked about whether I was afraid someone might steal A Yao away. I chuckled and admitted it was partly true but not entirely. Then I recounted what had happened last night to Captain Wu. 0

Upon hearing this, Captain Wu immediately pulled over the car, looking at me incredulously. He asked how such a thing could happen and what was going on with Feng Jie. 0

I shook my head, suggesting it might be related to Qiman but that I couldn't find evidence at that moment. 0

Noticing that I had mentioned Qiman several times in front of him, Captain Wu realized the seriousness of the situation. He patted his chest and assured me, "Don't worry, little brother; I'll make sure to investigate Qiman thoroughly." 0

I let out a sound, and Captain Wu continued driving. 0

After a while, we arrived at River Bridge Cinema. 0

Captain Wu and I got out of the car. I looked up at the cinema's sign, but for some reason, it was obscured by a mass of black mist, making it impossible to see the five characters. The top layer had turned a dark blue color. 0

"What’s going on?" I instinctively said aloud. 0

Captain Wu looked at me and asked if I had seen something. 0

I nodded and pointed to the cinema's sign and the top layer, saying, "This area and the top layer both have issues with black mist." 0

Captain Wu paused for a moment and said, "Could there be something sinister in this cinema?" 0

I nodded, then shook my head, saying, "It's hard to say because there are many ghosts here, but I don't know why all these ghosts are gathered in this place." 0

Captain Wu nodded as if he understood and walked into the cinema with me. Since we were here to investigate a case, we naturally needed to contact the person in charge of this Home Theater. 0

Soon, the manager approached us and introduced himself as He Wei. 0

After exchanging pleasantries, I gave Captain Wu a signal. He understood and asked He Wei if there had been any abnormalities or incidents at the cinema recently. 0

He Wei seemed taken aback by Captain Wu's question and replied that nothing was wrong. 0

Captain Wu and I exchanged glances, and he continued to ask, "Have you hired any Feng Shui Masters or similar practitioners recently?" 0

He Wei looked at us strangely and shook his head after a moment. 0

Captain Wu was about to say something else when I subtly stopped him. I quietly nudged Captain Wu and said to He Wei, "How about this: could you take us to see each Screening Room?" 0

Since there were no customers at that moment, He Wei readily agreed and led us to various Screening Rooms. 0

Captain Wu and I carefully examined these Screening Rooms. Initially, the first few rooms we entered seemed normal; however, when we reached Room Seven, we sensed something unusual. 0

It was very cool inside, with a chill breeze blowing from an unknown source. 0

In an instant, I remembered that Room Seven was the theater where A Yao and I had been before. 0

I quietly reminded Captain Wu to be careful, as there was something here. 0

At that moment, He Wei's phone rang, seemingly about some work-related matter. Captain Wu and I let him leave since this place had nothing to do with him anyway. 0

Once He Wei was gone, Captain Wu directly hid behind me and asked, "Little brother, are those things here?" 0

I couldn't help but chuckle. Looking around, although there was a chilling atmosphere, I really didn't see any of those filthy things. I shook my head at Captain Wu. 0

Then, Captain Wu and I moved to the center of the room, standing back to back as we carefully examined our surroundings. 0

Before long, I heard some strange sounds, like footsteps. 0

My heart began to race because those footsteps were coming from around us. 0

I nudged Captain Wu and whispered in his ear, "Those things are coming." 0

Perhaps it was Captain Wu's first time facing so many ghosts; he became anxious and trembled as he asked me what to do. 0

Recalling the scene with A Yao here before, I immediately reacted and pulled Captain Wu down into a seat. 0

Captain Wu looked at me in confusion, wanting to ask what was wrong. I quickly shook my head, signaling him not to speak; we might be in danger. 0

Upon hearing this, Captain Wu immediately fell silent, staring at the screen with his back straight. If it weren't for the eerie atmosphere, I might have teased him a bit. 0

Not long after we sat down, suddenly the lights dimmed, and the screen in front of us lit up. 0

Captain Wu seemed a bit nervous and glanced at me. I gave him a reassuring look, indicating that everything was fine. 0

Only then did Captain Wu let out a breath, though his face still showed tension. 0

Soon after, a film started playing on the screen. Then I heard many footsteps approaching the Screening Room. Despite the sounds being very close, I couldn't see anyone. This meant that those ghosts had already arrived here, right around Captain Wu and me. 0

As I quietly observed the shadows of the ghosts, suddenly, Captain Wu's large hand pinched my waist. I nearly cried out from the surprise. I looked at Captain Wu with a resentful expression, only to find him staring in terror at the upper left corner at the front. 0

I followed Captain Wu's gaze and was nearly scared to death. At some point, a row of people dressed in black had taken their seats, their heads shrouded in dark mist. Moreover, the originally empty theater was now filled with people without me noticing when it happened. 0

I was genuinely startled. To make matters worse, I spotted two ghosts lingering by the aisle, their eyes missing as if they were searching for a place to sit. 0

I frowned, and suddenly, my heart raced. They must be looking for the seats occupied by me and Captain Wu. 0

My anxiety heightened. 0

Captain Wu was even more nervous than I was; he trembled all over. 0

The air turned icy with the appearance of these ghosts, making both of us shiver uncontrollably. 0

Neither of us dared to disturb the ghosts; we sat rigidly in our seats for at least half an hour during the movie. 0

After the film ended, the ghosts that filled the Screening Room finally vanished. Captain Wu and I took a deep breath and slumped back into our chairs. 0

"Little brother, why are there so many ghosts here?" Captain Wu wiped the cold sweat from his face and gasped as he spoke to me. 0
