When I saw the figure of the Qipao Woman, I was nearly scared to death. What kind of person was this? Her face was covered in shards of glass, and worse still, her eyes had been hollowed out. 0

I was momentarily frozen in fear as I noticed the corners of her mouth curling up slightly, letting out a few eerie chuckles directed at me. My scalp prickled; her voice was nothing like before—it sounded like a terrifying evil spirit in the darkness. 0

"Wang Niu, run!" Suddenly, a familiar female voice reached my ears. 0

I paused, trying to recall whose voice it was, but I couldn't remember at that moment. Just then, the Qipao Woman opened her mouth wide and lunged at my head. 0

Reacting instinctively, I grabbed a wooden stick that had been lying nearby and swung it forcefully at the Qipao Woman. She let out a piercing scream. 0

Seizing the opportunity, I dashed down to the second floor. As I neared the first floor, a white figure appeared before me. 0

When I finally recognized the figure, I was stunned. How could it be Feng Jie? 0

"You! What are you doing here?" I exclaimed in surprise. Feng Jie’s presence shocked me—could it be that the Qipao Woman was actually Feng Jie? 0

Feng Jie seemed to read my thoughts and smirked coldly at me, sending chills down my spine. After a few seconds, she spoke, "Wang Niu, if I wanted to kill you, I would have done it long ago. Why would I need to help you?" 0

Her words left me astonished. Was she here to help me? 0

Suddenly, the laughter I had heard earlier echoed in my mind. Could it have been Feng Jie? Comparing the two sounds made it clear—it really was her. 0

"You..." I struggled to find the right words. 0

Feng Jie continued to smirk at me and pointed out the path ahead. "Do you think this is still the same road as before?" 0

I blinked in confusion, not understanding what Feng Jie meant. Seeing my bewilderment, she mocked me, "Wang Niu, with someone like you, you think you can protect A Yao? Ha! That's just wishful thinking." 0

My face immediately flushed. After all, I was a man, and being teased like that by Feng Jie made me feel embarrassed. However, Feng Jie didn't continue to mock me; instead, she told me that this was a path of yin and yang. 0

This only deepened my confusion. The road in front of me was one I walked every day and was very familiar with. How could it be the yin and yang path that Feng Jie spoke of? 0

Feng Jie didn't say anything further but turned her attention elsewhere. Suddenly, I felt a chill in front of me, as if something had brushed against my eyes, causing an itch. Instinctively, I reached up to touch it. When I opened my eyes again, I found that the road had vanished, replaced by a sheer cliff. In the middle of this cliff stood a swaying bridge. 0

I jumped back in shock. At that moment, Feng Jie turned around and said, "Wang Niu, did you see that? If you step onto this path, you'll be separated from A Yao by yin and yang." 0

I was momentarily speechless. After a moment, I had no choice but to ask Feng Jie what I should do; it seemed impossible to go forward or backward. 0

Feng Jie glanced upstairs and said to me, "It's simple. Close your eyes and walk up the stairs. Rely on your memory to find your dormitory. Just don't open your eyes during the process. Once you're inside your dorm, go straight to sleep, and by tomorrow, everything will return to normal." 0

I nodded but still felt quite puzzled and asked Feng Jie what was going on. 0

Feng Jie snorted lightly and said, "Wang Niu, this is something you've stirred up. That woman in the qipao doesn't belong here; she was summoned by someone. Her mission is to take you away." 0

I frowned, about to think it over when Feng Jie suddenly pushed me and said, "Hurry up! Be careful of those around you. Remember, Wang Niu, you owe me a favor." 0

With that, Feng Jie disappeared. Suddenly, the entire corridor erupted with terrifying noises. I snapped back to reality and quickly followed Feng Jie's instructions: I closed my eyes and relied on my memory to return to my dormitory, lying down on my bed as quickly as possible. 0

Though the noises continued for a while, I tightly covered my ears until it eventually quieted down. 0

After tossing and turning all night, sleep soon enveloped me completely, and I slept until dawn. 0

When I finally woke up, it was already noon. 0

At that moment, my phone rang. Looking at the screen, I saw it was A Yao calling. 0

I immediately answered the call, and A Yao's voice came through, anxiously asking why I hadn't answered her calls and if something was wrong. 0

A Yao's concerned tone warmed my heart and filled me with happiness. It felt wonderful to have a girlfriend like A Yao who cared for me at all times. I reassured her that everything was fine, explaining that I had come back late last night and hadn’t heard her calls. I told her to wait for me a moment while I rushed to find her. 0

After hanging up, I noticed that A Yao had called me several times. 0

Not wanting to keep A Yao waiting any longer, especially since I already felt guilty about it, I quickly washed up, threw on some clothes, and left the dormitory. 0

I arrived at the place where A Yao and I had agreed to meet. There she was, holding a cup of milk tea in one hand and some food in the other. Upon seeing me, A Yao joyfully walked over and handed me what she had brought, saying it was for me and urging me to eat quickly. 0

To be honest, A Yao's gesture nearly brought tears to my eyes. I sniffled a bit and accepted the items she offered. 0

Seeing A Yao looking so energetic put my mind at ease; it seemed she had slept well last night. Could it be because Feng Jie hadn’t bothered her? 0

However, out of concern for A Yao's safety, I still asked if anything had happened to her last night. 0

At first, A Yao shook her head, but then her expression changed. I noticed something was off and grew anxious, asking her what was wrong. If there was something bothering her, she needed to tell me; she mustn’t hide anything from me. 0

A Yao spoke up, “Wang Niu, I'm still scared. Even though Feng Jie didn’t bother me last night, I had a terrifying nightmare. Do you remember the scene we saw in the cinema that day?” 0

Her words surprised me slightly. It was unsettling how coincidental it was; could there really be something in the cinema? How else could so many ghosts appear? And what did Feng Jie mean by that remark last night? 0

Seeing that I was lost in thought, A Yao quietly stood beside me without interrupting. 0

As I pondered these things, suddenly the sound of high heels echoed in my ears. For some reason, my heart instinctively trembled at the sound as I snapped back to reality. 0

The sound of the high heels grew louder, and I instinctively searched for its source. At that moment, a pair of red high heels appeared before my eyes. Not only that, but the owner’s feet were exceptionally pale—almost unnaturally so. 0

I lifted my gaze, only to find myself looking into Qiman's eyes. For some reason, I was reminded of the woman in the cheongsam from last night. It was then that I noticed Qiman was also wearing a cheongsam. 0

Seeing me staring at her, Qiman flashed me a strange smile before turning to A Yao behind me, greeting her with a sweet smile and warm enthusiasm. 0

A Yao seemed equally pleased to see Qiman, chatting away as if she hadn’t taken my earlier words to heart. This left me feeling somewhat helpless; how could A Yao be so kind-hearted? 0

To prevent A Yao from interacting with Qiman too casually, I approached her and said, "Why don’t you come with me to see Captain Wu? He got injured last night and is in the hospital. After all, he has helped me a lot." 0

Of course, this statement was a lie, merely a ruse to distract Qiman. 0

A Yao looked at me hesitantly and replied, "Wang Niu, I just made plans with Qiman to have dinner together. Wouldn’t it be rude to leave her?" 0

After saying this, A Yao glanced apologetically at Qiman. I expected Qiman to insist that A Yao stay for dinner, but surprisingly, she suggested that A Yao accompany me first. 0

This woman was truly hard to read. Soon after, I took A Yao to the police station. 0

A Yao looked at me quizzically and asked why we weren’t going to the hospital to see Captain Wu. I chuckled lightly and explained that it was just a trick to mislead Qiman. However, we were indeed here to see Captain Wu; he had been in quite a dire situation last night. 0

A Yao gasped in surprise and asked what had happened. 0

I didn’t divulge the details to A Yao and brushed it off casually. Fortunately, she didn’t seem suspicious and followed me into the police station. 0
