Three days later, everyone gathered together, and Captain Wu eagerly asked Uncle Tiger what the plan was. 0

Uncle Tiger smiled and asked Captain Wu how the chickens were doing. Captain Wu chuckled and replied that they were all fine, with no abnormalities. 0

Uncle Tiger nodded thoughtfully, then turned to Feng Jie and asked, "Miss, you might need to lure out the Mountain Demon yourself. It's a bit dangerous; are you still willing?" 0

Everyone looked at Feng Jie, who bit her lip, her face showing a complex expression. 0

Seeing this, I couldn't help but speak up. "Uncle Tiger, is there any other way? This seems a bit cruel for Feng Jie; after all, it's a Mountain Demon, not a human." 0

Uncle Tiger replied, "There are other methods, but A Yao and the victims can't wait that long. Having this young lady voluntarily lure out the Mountain Demon is a last resort." 0

After he spoke, everyone fell silent. Such a decision was indeed difficult. Feng Jie looked around at everyone, her face filled with hesitation, but in the end, she agreed. 0

This surprised everyone present and earned them respect for Feng Jie's sacrifice. 0

Uncle Tiger nodded reassuringly at Feng Jie and said, "Don't worry; in the early stages, the Mountain Demon won't harm you. Later on, I'll give you something that the Mountain Demon fears, so it won't pose a threat to you." 0

Feng Jie nodded. Then Uncle Tiger shared his plan with everyone. 0

After hearing it, everyone admired Uncle Tiger's strategy. Captain Wu glanced at me and joked, "Little brother, if you comb your hair back, you'd really look like a proper driver." 0

I shot Captain Wu an annoyed glare and urged him to quickly find someone to dress Feng Jie up as a wealthy young lady. We were helping him solve a problem; he had to cooperate fully. 0

Captain Wu nodded repeatedly, assuring me that he would take care of it. Before long, he called over some people—mostly hairstylists and makeup artists. 0

Soon enough, Feng Jie was surrounded by these individuals. They worked on her for quite some time without finishing, which made both me and Captain Wu feel helpless. No wonder some women take nearly an hour to get ready before going out. 0

As evening approached, they finally stepped back one by one. When we saw Feng Jie again, we were all stunned. At that moment, she seemed transformed into another person—so beautiful it was breathtaking, like a star from television. 0

As everyone looked at her, Feng Jie felt a bit shy and asked back. Uncle Tiger nodded, saying that it was almost enough, but something was still missing. Everyone looked at Uncle Tiger in confusion as he pulled out a black pouch from his pocket. He instructed Feng Yi to keep it on her person without opening it, or it would become ineffective. 0

Curious, I asked Uncle Tiger what was inside the pouch, but he shot me a glare, and I reluctantly closed my mouth. 0

Afterward, we began to execute our plan. Feng Jie and I walked out of the hospital and, upon reaching the entrance, spotted a very cool car. Just then, Captain Wu came out and called us over, saying that the car was for our mission and to be careful while driving since renting it had cost quite a bit. 0

This was my first time seeing such a nice car, and I couldn't help but feel excited. I immediately jumped in and urged Feng Jie to get in quickly. She seemed cautious, worried about damaging anything inside the vehicle. 0

Captain Wu appeared somewhat uneasy about me driving; he asked if I knew how to drive and hoped I wouldn't cause him to lose money on the rental. I felt a bit annoyed; after all, I had obtained my driver's license back in school. Although I didn't have the money to buy a car, I might need one for work in the future. So, I practiced driving until Captain Wu felt reassured. Before leaving, he reminded me several times to be careful. 0

Reluctantly, I started the car and headed straight for an entertainment venue as per Uncle Tiger's instructions. He had told Captain Wu to place the "chickens" in several bustling entertainment spots over the next three days to investigate the whereabouts of the Mountain Demon. The fact that none of those "chickens" had been harmed indicated that the Mountain Demon had not shown up yet. However, it was certain that it would appear after three days of rest; although it had regained some Vital Energy during that time, it urgently needed a new target to replenish its essence. 0

On the way, I glanced at the rearview mirror and noticed that Feng Jie looked increasingly frightened, which tugged at my heartstrings since she was just a girl. 0

"Are you okay?" I asked. 0

Feng Jie looked up and smiled weakly in response but still appeared tense. 0

Unsure how to comfort her, I fell silent until we arrived at one of the more popular entertainment venues. 0

After parking the car, I turned to look at Feng Jie. At that moment, her face was covered in beads of sweat, and her hands were tightly clasped together. 0

I felt uneasy about her state; if anything went wrong now, no one could bear the consequences. 0

I decided to stay with Feng Jie in the car for a while, trying to think of ways to help her relax. 0

After some time, Feng Jie gradually calmed down. Once we got out of the car, I reminded her once more to prioritize her safety before attempting to lure out the Mountain Demon. 0

Earlier, I had briefly described the appearance of the Mountain Demon to Feng Jie. She acknowledged my words and walked alone into the entertainment venue. 0

I kept my eyes fixed on the entrance, feeling an inexplicable quickening of my heart. I had initially intended to follow Feng Jie inside, but recalling Uncle Tiger's instructions, I had no choice but to wait outside for her. 0

Time passed slowly, and Feng Jie still hadn't come out. My anxiety grew as I wondered what was happening inside. 0

Just as I was about to rush in, Feng Jie emerged, accompanied by a strange man. The man seemed quite interested in her, placing a large hand on her shoulder. Seeing that Feng Jie was about to be taken advantage of, I hurried over and separated them, calling out to her that it was time for us to go home. 0

Feng Jie responded accordingly, and the man had no choice but to back off. 0

Once we were in the car, Feng Jie let out a long sigh, visibly relaxing from her earlier tension. I asked her about what had happened inside. 0

Feng Jie's gaze drifted toward the window. Confused, I followed her line of sight and noticed she was looking at the man from before. 0

Before I could ask anything, Feng Jie spoke up. "Wang Niu, that man standing at the door—I feel he is the Mountain Demon you mentioned." 0

I was taken aback and questioned Feng Jie if she might have mistaken him for someone else; they were clearly two different people. 0

Feng Jie firmly denied my suggestion. After entering the venue, although she felt nervous at first, she gradually calmed down. She chose a prominent seat in the middle, and soon many men approached her to flirt. However, she skillfully deflected their advances. Just as those men left, the man at the entrance suddenly appeared beside her and started chatting her up. 0

While talking to him, Feng Jie caught a strange scent—something akin to decay. The man leaned in closely, breathing heavily on her, which made her feel dizzy. She wondered if Uncle Tiger's earlier actions had affected her state of mind, pulling her back to reality. 0

Realizing something was off, Feng Jie made an excuse to leave. To her surprise, the man followed closely behind her until she reached where I saw them together. 0

I listened intently to Feng Jie's account while replaying my earlier encounter with the man in my mind. In my worry for Feng Jie, I had forgotten about any unusual smells. After pondering for a while without reaching any conclusions, I dropped Feng Jie off at school since it was getting late. 0

Afterward, I returned to the hospital and happened upon Uncle Tiger working on something for A Yao; it looked like he was cutting fabric. I paused for a moment—was A Yao in trouble again? 0

At that moment, Uncle Tiger turned around and asked how things went. 0

I glanced at A Yao before recounting everything that had happened with Feng Jie to Uncle Tiger. He nodded approvingly about Feng Jie and said, "She's a good girl. Tomorrow, go get a talisman from her; then you'll know if the man she encountered last night is indeed the Mountain Demon." 0

I let out a sigh, my thoughts returning to A Yao. I asked Uncle Tiger if A Yao was in a bad condition. 0

Uncle Tiger replied, "Yes, so we need to hurry and catch the Mountain Demon. Wang Niu, you should help her put on the clothes you've prepared, and then call Captain Wu to come over." 0

I agreed and first called Captain Wu before helping A Yao sit up and putting the clothes on her. 0

Several days had passed, and A Yao was still in a coma, which made me even more worried. 0

After a long while, Captain Wu finally arrived, looking out of breath as if he had just finished something important. 0

Curiously, I asked Captain Wu if something significant had happened. He nodded and said that a large hospital in the city had reported a case of many corpses going missing; they had just returned from investigating the scene. 0

I asked in confusion, "Are corpses really being stolen?" 0

Captain Wu shook his head helplessly, seemingly unable to understand why someone would steal corpses. Suddenly, Uncle Tiger stood up and handed several pieces of clothing to Captain Wu, instructing him to find a way for the victimized girls to wear them, saying it was for soul binding. 0

Captain Wu looked taken aback, clearly not understanding at first. Uncle Tiger explained that the souls of those victims had been absorbed by the Mountain Demon. Without their souls, those victims could gradually become vegetative, which would be no different from being dead. Therefore, soul binding was necessary. 0
