I exchanged glances with Uncle Tiger, and it seemed that, just as he had said, this was related to our family. 0

However, Grandpa didn’t seem keen on discussing it in front of me. He sent me away and spoke to Uncle Tiger alone. I waited for quite a while before Uncle Tiger finally emerged from my house. Anxiously, I asked him what Grandpa had said. 0

Uncle Tiger hesitated, unwilling to share much with me. Perhaps he had promised Grandpa not to tell me anything. Because of this, the weight in my heart grew heavier. 0

Uncle Tiger urged me not to overthink things and to calm down. He said that matters concerning A Yao couldn’t be rushed and suggested I stay in the village for a few more days. 0

I had no choice but to heed Uncle Tiger’s words; after all, he felt like my anchor. 0

In the following days, Uncle Tiger subtly taught me how to cut clothes and shared many secrets with me. 0

Although I couldn’t immediately inherit all of Uncle Tiger’s skills, I could grasp a few techniques. 0

One morning, Uncle Tiger took an iron rod and said he was going to the back mountain to dig for something. He told me to continue practicing cutting clothes at home. By afternoon, he still hadn’t returned, but I had managed to cut out several shrouds, though the patterns didn’t look quite right. 0

At that moment, Aunt Zhang rushed into the village, calling out Uncle Tiger’s name loudly. 0

I sensed something was wrong and stepped outside to ask Aunt Zhang what was happening. 0

Aunt Zhang swallowed hard and recounted everything to me. She said her child might have been possessed; there were large black patches on his stomach, and he was making animal sounds. If this continued, he might not survive. 0

Hearing this made my heart race, but I put on a calm facade and reassured Aunt Zhang not to worry; Uncle Tiger would be back soon. After saying this, I poured her a glass of water and sat with her as we waited for Uncle Tiger. 0

However, time passed without any sign of him returning. Aunt Zhang became increasingly restless and began to cry, repeatedly lamenting about her unfortunate child. 0

I looked at Aunt Zhang helplessly; if this continued, someone might lose their life. At that moment, an idea struck me. Gritting my teeth, I grabbed the clothes I had cut from the table and asked Aunt Zhang to lead the way. I would go with her to see if we could resolve the situation. 0

Aunt Zhang hesitated at first but then remembered that I had been with Uncle Tiger since childhood and might know something useful. Without further delay, she took me to her home. 0

As soon as we reached her doorstep, strange occurrences began. Animal cries echoed from Aunt Zhang’s house. Moreover, on the window, there seemed to be a shadow reflected—this wasn’t a human silhouette; it resembled some kind of animal. 0

Aunt Zhang suddenly panicked, her voice trembling as she exclaimed, "Oh my God, what if that monster eats our child?" 0

I steadied myself and tried to comfort Aunt Zhang, urging her not to panic and definitely not to go inside. But Aunt Zhang was too frantic, her mind solely focused on the child inside the house. She dashed in without a second thought. 0

Before I could grab her, her scream echoed from within the house, leaving me with no choice but to rush in after her. 0

As soon as I entered, I saw Aunt Zhang lying on the floor, the room in disarray, but there was no sign of the child. 0

My heart sank. Aunt Zhang's child was only ten months old and couldn't walk yet—how could they possibly be missing? 0

I pushed my worries aside and first attended to Aunt Zhang, helping her up. I called out to her several times, but she remained in a dazed state. Just then, an unusual itchiness crept into my ears. Instinctively, I reached out and moved my hand, but in the next moment, a chilling sensation washed over me. 0

Something was brushing against my fingertips—something soft and furry. My breath quickened. Could it be the monster I had just seen through the window paper? 0

I whipped around and came face-to-face with a creature that had a human body and a cat's face. My pupils dilated in shock. Before I could scream, the monster lunged at me, knocking me to the ground with a piercing shriek that nearly shattered my eardrums. 0

It was incredibly strong, pinning me down so I couldn't move. In that moment of vulnerability, I got a clearer look at the creature—and it struck me like a bolt of lightning. 0

It looked like Aunt Zhang's child, but with a monstrous face. 0

The creature seemed to sense my inability to fight back and grinned at me with an eerie smile that sent shivers down my spine. 0

At that moment, Uncle Tiger's earlier words echoed in my mind. 0

There were monsters that loved to inhabit children's bodies because their essence was pure, allowing them to feed until they were full. However, this posed a grave danger to the children; if the monster remained inside for too long, the child would die. These monsters were known as Half-Cat Beasts. 0

The way to deal with a Half-Cat Beast was to apply a man's pure yang blood directly onto its head. This would weaken it enough for you to pull it out of the child's body and eliminate it. 0

With determination coursing through me, I bit down on my finger until it bled and pressed my blood onto the head of the Half-Cat Beast before me. But it was cunning; it easily dodged my attempt and darted up onto the beams of the house. 0

I kept my eyes fixed on the Half-Cat Beast, fearing it would drop the child. With every leap it took, my heart raced faster. 0

We remained in a stalemate for quite some time, with the Half-Cat Beast refusing to come down from the beam. This situation couldn't continue, so I quickly thought through my options. However, the Half-Cat Beast seized that moment and lunged at me, its gaze growing more ferocious. 0

My arms were scratched by the Half-Cat Beast. I had initially intended to retaliate, but considering that its body was connected to Aunt Zhang's child, I had no choice but to let the Half-Cat Beast be. 0

It seemed to sense this hesitation and let out a cackling laugh directed at me. 0

For some reason, a wave of dizziness washed over me, and suddenly the Half-Cat Beast appeared to multiply before my eyes, accompanied by two glowing green orbs. 0

Gradually, my consciousness began to drift away, as if trapped within something. 0

At that moment, I felt my body rising unsteadily and moving toward the door, as if a voice was calling out to me. 0

Just then, a sharp pain struck my head, and it was this pain that pulled my awareness back into my body. 0

I slowly opened my eyes and saw Uncle Tiger covered in mud standing before me. Relieved, I called out to him. Uncle Tiger seemed to sense something was wrong; he told me not to speak and handed me a talisman before confronting the Half-Cat Beast. 0

Seeing its plan thwarted, the Half-Cat Beast roared angrily at Uncle Tiger and lunged at him fiercely. Uncle Tiger likely feared harming the child as well, so he remained in a defensive stance. 0

As a result, Uncle Tiger quickly found himself at a disadvantage. The Half-Cat Beast appeared quite pleased with itself, continuously cackling in challenge at Uncle Tiger. 0

Unfazed by the provocation, Uncle Tiger summoned a talisman with his left hand and swiftly pressed it against the Half-Cat Beast's head. The beast let out a wretched cry as Uncle Tiger seized the opportunity to pin it to the ground, shouting loudly, "You vile creature, come out!" 0

The Half-Cat Beast was not intimidated; instead, it grew bolder and continued to wreak havoc within the child's body, confident that Uncle Tiger wouldn't dare harm it. My heart raced with anxiety. 0

Uncle Tiger snorted coldly and without hesitation bit his finger, pressing his blood onto the Half-Cat Beast's head. He gave no chance for the half-demon beast; I could see its shadow beginning to emerge from the child's body. 0

Uncle Tiger immediately called out to me, instructing me to press my blood onto the Half-Cat Beast's head as well. I nodded in response, enduring the pain as I stood up quickly and pressed my blood against its head. With a sizzling sound, the Half-Cat Beast emerged from the child's body. Uncle Tiger then lifted the child into his arms and firmly grasped the Half-Cat Beast by its neck. 0

No one knew why the Half-Cat Beast was crying pitifully, its appearance evoking a sense of compassion in those who saw it, causing Uncle Tiger to halt his actions. 0

"Let me go," the Half-Cat Beast surprisingly spoke in a human voice. 0

For some reason, I found myself slowly speaking up, pleading for the Half-Cat Beast. Uncle Tiger hesitated as he looked at the creature, but just then, the Half-Cat Beast revealed a fierce glint in its eyes and lunged at Uncle Tiger's neck. 0

Uncle Tiger reacted swiftly, gripping the Half-Cat Beast's neck tightly and pressing his blood against its head once more. This time, the Half-Cat Beast was obliterated, dissipating into a cloud of black smoke that quickly vanished. 0

I let out a deep breath; that scene had been incredibly tense. 0

Uncle Tiger brushed off the dust from his clothes and approached me, insisting that I hand over the child to him, or else the child would fall into a state of dementia. 0

After cradling the child in his arms, Uncle Tiger gently patted the child's head. Suddenly, the child let out a heart-wrenching cry. 0

"Uncle, is the child alright?" I asked. 0

Uncle Tiger reassured me, "It's nothing serious. The child's soul has returned. As long as we take good care of them for a few days, everything will be fine." 0

I felt relieved but then recalled the earlier encounter with the Half-Cat Beast and asked, "Uncle, do all monsters speak?" 0

For some reason, Uncle Tiger's expression suddenly changed. In a serious tone, he warned me, "Wang Niu, I must caution you: never show sympathy towards any monster. If you do, disaster will surely follow. Remember this." 0
