On this day, the police received a report from the security personnel at Linxiang Train Station about two suspicious boxes found within the station, while their owner had vanished. The police quickly organized forces to rush to the scene.
According to the security personnel at the train station, around seven in the morning, an elderly man brought two cardboard boxes. When passing through the X-Ray machine, the images displayed suggested that there were human limbs inside the second box.
"The image was still somewhat vague, but it was clear enough because there was a foot. The bones of this foot, along with its toes, were still distinguishable."
For the staff who had never encountered such an image on the Security Scanner, there was initial confusion. They quickly approached the owner of the box to inquire about its contents. The owner simply stated that it contained meat and some bones for human consumption, then hurriedly moved the box into the waiting hall.
When the staff informed the owner that the box needed to be opened for inspection before boarding, the owner replied that he would first go buy a ticket and return for the inspection. However, he left and never returned.
As time passed and the owner did not come back, the Security Personnel sensed something was amiss and promptly reported it to the police.
The police arrived at the scene shortly after and immediately cordoned off the area.
Upon investigating the surroundings, they found no traces left behind except for the two cardboard boxes. However, when they carefully opened the boxes, what they discovered left them utterly stunned: inside were dismembered human limbs.
One box contained the upper part of a person's body, starting from below the hips, lacking a head, with arms, ribs, and internal organs.
The Suspect had killed the Victim in a bathroom without submerging their head in the toilet. Using a kitchen knife, he severed the head and completed the dismemberment in the bathroom. He then placed parts of the Victim's body and extracted organs into pre-prepared bags and disposed of them in a river not far from his home in the early morning hours.
It turned out that after Li Maowu retired, he found himself with nothing to do at home but was eager to make money. He set his sights on the embalming profession despite strong opposition from his family. He believed that everyone faces life and death, and that no profession is inherently superior or inferior; moreover, it was a career that could bring both fame and fortune.
Ultimately, he entered the field of embalming and continued for over a decade. Excluding his pension, he earned five to six thousand a month just from being an embalmer. With this financial boost, he quickly became a sought-after bachelor in his locality.
One midnight, after finishing work and riding home, he passed by a row of foot massage shops where two young women outside called him in. This is how he met massage therapist Sun Liuyuan.
Perhaps finding young Sun Liuyuan appealing, Li Maowu became a regular customer. Over time, he felt that Sun Liuyuan was easy to talk to, and she often visited his home to help with laundry and cooking.
As time went on, this companionship brought Li Maowu a long-lost warmth after years of being single.
Gradually, Li Maowu began to care for Sun Liuyuan.
After their mutual confessions, Sun Liuyuan no longer worked as a massage therapist, and Li Maowu spent all his savings on her. He even secretly contemplated finding a suitable opportunity to discuss their wedding plans for September with his child.
