Several people slowly exited the room where the tragedy had occurred, walking heavily towards the opposite room. Here, in stark contrast to the earlier bloodshed and intensity, it appeared tranquil and spacious. The room contained only a simple bed, a few tables and chairs, and a bookcase seemingly awaiting the return of its owner. From the layout, it seemed to be a room prepared by Tesnan for his son Bolt, but now it was empty.
Mayor Eldrick entered the room, his eyes scanning each area with a dim expression, especially the empty bed. Thinking of Tesnan's tragic death and Bolt's unknown whereabouts, his mood seemed particularly heavy. "All of this... it's just too unbelievable," the mayor murmured to himself, his voice filled with sorrow and indignation.
The chief walked over and stood by his side, comforting him, "Mayor, we will do everything in our power to find Bolt and capture this ruthless killer."
"I know, chief," the mayor replied, "but all of this has happened so suddenly, I can hardly believe it. the Tesnan family... they shouldn't have met such a fate."
The police chief nodded solemnly, "Yes, this is a tragedy. But we must remain calm in order to find the truth."
The mayor took a deep breath, trying to calm his emotions. Then, they walked down the stairs together, their footsteps making a slight sound, echoing in the quiet night.
On the ground floor, the chief continued to carefully examine every possible trace and clue on the scene. He bent down, carefully observing the bloodstains on the floor, then turned to the walls and furniture, searching for any overlooked details. His expression was focused and serious, showing his seriousness about the case.
Meanwhile, Mayor Eldrick sat on the the Tesnan family's sofa, with a deep sense of confusion and bewilderment on his face. His gaze alternated between the empty room and a thoughtful stare into the distance. "If this suspect is really a monster, why would they take Bolt? What kind of monster are they?" The mayor muttered to himself, his eyes revealing a sense of perplexity and unease.
The chief of police returned from the back door area and joined the mayor's discussion. "I found some traces at the back door," the chief of police reported. "The bloodstains extend along the floor to the back door, and then disappear near the creek. It's as if the suspect disappeared into thin air along with Bolt."
The mayor stood up and walked towards the chief of police. "How do you think the suspect managed to do this? This disappearing act is not something an ordinary person can do."
The chief shook his head, looking puzzled: "This is beyond my understanding. Unless the suspect has some special ability, perhaps it's magic or some innate power. This kind of disappearance doesn't fit any normal explanation."
The mayor remained silent for a moment, then said, "This means we are facing an extraordinary enemy. We need more information, more support."
The chief's eyes flashed with a hint of hesitation as he turned to Mayor Eldrick and asked, "Mayor, do we need to investigate Shadowy Forest? It may hold the key clues to our case."
The mayor sighed deeply, his expression filled with worry and helplessness. "How could we possibly go? The danger of Shadowy Forest is clear to both of us. Even if we were to use all of our police force, facing the monsters there, it would be difficult to come out unscathed."
The chief nodded, a worried expression on his face. "Yes, I understand the danger of the Shadowy Forest. But if Bolt has really been taken there, he may be the key to this case."
After a moment of silence, the chief spoke again. "But right now, everyone is busy fighting the external enemies, in a state of war. If we need to notify the Shadow Watcher for assistance, I'm afraid we won't know how long we'll have to wait..."
The mayor stood up and walked to the window, gazing at the distant Shadowy Forest with a complex expression in his eyes. "Even so, we cannot give up like this. Bolt is innocent, and we must make every effort to find him."
The sheriff walked up to the mayor and affirmed, "I agree, Mayor. I will contact the Shadow Watcher as soon as possible to request their support. At the same time, we will continue the investigation in town to see if there are any other clues we can find."
The mayor nodded, his eyes determined. "Alright, Sheriff. This matter involves not only a family tragedy but also the safety of the entire town. We must act quickly."
As Mayor Eldrick and the sheriff delved into discussions on how to protect the townspeople and maintain the town's safety, a loud shout from the guards outside suddenly interrupted their conversation, causing both of them to involuntarily turn their heads towards the door.
A tall stranger appeared at the door. He was dressed in full leather armor, with a cloak draped over his shoulders and a deep hood covering half of his face, making him appear particularly mysterious and terrifying in the darkness. In the dim light, only part of his face below the eyes could be vaguely seen.
He had a finely crafted revolver hanging from his waist, and on the other side, he carried a large bulge wrapped in layers of black cloth. From its appearance, it was likely a giant sword. The stranger's appearance and attire were clearly unusual, causing everyone present to be on high alert.
Two security guards nervously demanded that the mysterious visitor step back loudly, but the other seemed completely indifferent, standing there stiffly as if sniffing the air around. The mayor and the police chief exchanged a glance, both seeing the alertness and curiosity in each other's eyes. The mayor took a step forward, asking firmly and calmly, "Who are you? What is your purpose for being here?"
The mysterious figure did not immediately respond, but instead continued to stand quietly, seemingly assessing the situation before them. This added to the tense atmosphere, enveloping the entire room in a sense of uncertainty and foreboding. The mayor and the sheriff realized that they might be facing a completely new, and perhaps more complex, situation.
