“Dragon Meat, huh?” Kou Zhong poked Xu Ziling and whispered.
“If you’re so capable, go ask the master,” Xu Ziling replied, glancing at him sideways in a low voice.
Truthfully, both of them were curious about the taste of Dragon Meat, but in their eyes, it must be extraordinarily precious. Even if their master had some, it certainly wouldn’t be much. Thus, they began to murmur among themselves.
“Hmm!”
Fu Junruo furrowed her brows upon hearing their whispers and said, “I’ve never touched alcohol, so I hope the seniors can forgive me.” She quickly fixed a stern gaze on Kou Zhong and Xu Ziling, threateningly adding, “Of course, you two are too young to drink anyway. The rest of you can enjoy yourselves; don’t mind me.”
Kou Zhong and Xu Ziling were not only eager to taste Dragon Meat but also wanted to savor fine wine. However, upon hearing her words, disappointment was clearly written all over their faces.
Ye Kai chuckled lightly; he knew Fu genuinely cared for Kou Zhong and Xu Ziling. He smiled and said, “My wine is different from others. It’s fine if those two drink a little less; just don’t overindulge.”
Seeing his master’s support, Kou Zhong immediately brightened up and grabbed a bottle of icy blue cocktail. He pulled Xu Ziling over and excitedly shouted, “I knew Master was the best! Come on, you have to try this; it’s something Master brought from the Other World!”
Seeing his mischievous expression, Fu Junruo, who had been somewhat annoyed earlier, could only give him a mock glare filled with both reproach and amusement. How could she not understand what Kou Zhong meant?
After taking a gentle sip, she instantly fell in love with the sweet and sour flavor that also carried a refreshing fragrance.
Looking again at the icy blue drink in her crystal glass, she felt a pang of reluctance. Not only was it beautiful, but it also tasted so good. What would she do if she accidentally drank it all?
Watching the two mischievous boys gulping down the drink while calling her “Mother,” she felt annoyed yet couldn’t say much since this was a gift from their master.
Ye Kai observed Fu Junruo’s reaction with surprise and glanced at her a few more times. He then noticed Kou Zhong and Xu Ziling snickering beside her while exchanging sly looks.
“Mr. Song, where did we just come from?” he asked casually before requesting Alice to pass over several bottles of cocktails. He added with a smile, “Let’s all have a taste; when there’s nothing going on, this Sect enjoys having a few drinks.”
Hearing his master’s question, Kou Zhong raised his hand like an eager student and exclaimed, “I know! I know! Qin Zhao Xiang Wang exchanged fifteen cities for King Huiwen’s national treasure He Shi Bi. Zhao Wang sent Lin Xiangru to escort He Shi Bi to meet Qin Wang. Old Lin clung to his foolish method of bringing back the precious stone along with himself. Fortunately, Qin Wang was even more foolish and allowed him to return He Shi Bi to Zhao; that’s what they call—‘returning the jade intact.’”
Everyone smiled at the scene, but Liu Qing laughed the hardest, pointing at Kou Zhong and asking, "So what happened to the He Shi Bi afterward?"
Kou Zhong had only heard the story of "returning the jade to Zhao" from the White Old Master, so he could only respond to that. As for what happened after it returned to Zhao, he had no idea. Feeling awkward, he replied, "I suppose only the old master knows about that."
Upon hearing this, Liu Qing laughed even harder, leaning against Song Lu, her demeanor charming and playful, which made several older gentlemen steal glances at her.
Seeing Kou Zhong amuse his beloved concubine so much, Song Lu felt delighted and momentarily forgot about Ye Kai, the great master beside them. He laughed heartily and said, "The He Shi Bi eventually came into the hands of Qin Shi Huang, who ordered Li Si to inscribe the eight characters 'Commanded by, may it last long and prosper' in bird-and-insect seal script. The jade was then carved by a stone craftsman, thus the He Shi Bi became known as the He Di Seal."
"Eh?"
Just as everyone was laughing, they suddenly heard Ye Kai's voice filled with confusion, which drew all their attention. After all, even though they were chatting, most of their focus was on this great master.
"Master, what's wrong? Is something not right?" Kou Zhong asked curiously.
Now when he called "Master," it came out smoothly. Ye Kai didn't mind and found it quite amusing that he had taken Twin Dragons as his disciples. However, something even more interesting was about to happen!
"That hiding girl, aren't you coming over yet?"
By the riverbank stood a girl in white with bare feet. Her dark hair framed a graceful figure reminiscent of rolling hills. Her skin was as translucent as snow yet full of vitality, complemented by a pair of dreamy eyes.
Ye Kai instantly recognized this ethereal woman but was even more curious about how she ended up here.
"Since you invite me, Wanwan shall comply!"
At that moment, Wanwan's stunning figure shot like an arrow from the willow tree on her side of the bank. Just as she was about to land, it felt as if all the air in the space had been suddenly sucked away, creating an unbearable sensation.
Watching Wanwan in her white attire and bare feet was like seeing a ghost emerge from the deepest black hole. Before she even arrived, a slender ribbon had already flown out from her snow-white sleeve, curling toward them like a venomous snake.
Though her presence was strikingly fierce, there was strangely no sound of wind or any energy slicing through the air.
“Ha ha ha, what an interesting technique! You all better not make a move.”
Ye Kai suddenly burst into laughter, dramatically gesturing with his hand. Song Shidao's sword was already unsheathed, but it was Ye Kai using Psychokinesis to execute the Sword Control Technique.
Honestly, he felt a strange sensation, as if with his arrival, the plot here was about to become chaotic!
“Ding!”
With a crisp sound of metal clashing, Wanwan had descended and slowly retracted the Magic Field along with the ribbon, exclaiming playfully, “No more! No more! Senior is bullying me!”
“Ha ha ha... You little girl, when has this sect ever bullied you? It’s just that you’ve been exposed by this sect, and now you’re throwing a tantrum.”
Ye Kai was genuinely excited and also puzzled. He didn’t seem to have that strong ‘stud’ mentality; instead, he found himself genuinely fond of the quirky elf, Wanwan.
In fact, he could assure that there was not even a hint of romantic interest; rather, there was an added sense of elderly affection.
Perhaps it was influenced by the Original Work; anyway, he was muddled enough to decide to help this girl with just one glance.
After all, he was here to enjoy himself. Since the deity hadn’t issued any tasks yet, he might as well have some fun.
Even if things went awry, it wouldn’t be a big deal.
With a firm resolve, he felt like he had just experienced the exhilarating sensation of receiving a message saying ‘The break has begun after a week of intense study.’
In short, it felt incredibly refreshing.
“Oh dear, Senior, you’re quite the expert! Wanwan chased after you and nearly died from exhaustion. You were so ruthless! No way! You must compensate me!” Wanwan felt a bit curious; this man seemed to appreciate her but also had a hint of pity for her.
This intrigued her greatly. After all, she came from Yin Kui Sect and was the saintess of this generation. Having gone through countless schemes and intrigues, she had great confidence in her judgment and intuition.
The man’s eyes held no hint of desire; instead, they reflected the affection of an elder, which unexpectedly stirred a slight fondness within her.
Ye Kai smiled as he looked at the pouting elven girl before him. Her innocent demeanor was an undeniable charm, making his heart race.
“Hahaha, you little girl, come here and chat with me! I’m quite curious about why you’ve chased me down,” he said with a hearty laugh.
Seeing Wanwan still maintaining her stubbornly cute stance, refusing to approach unless he agreed, Ye Kai chuckled and shook his head. “Come on, girl. You see, if you want to catch the sun, I really have no way to help you with that, hahaha…”
What he didn’t notice was the bewildered expressions on everyone else’s faces.
They weren’t fools; even Kou Zhong and Xu Ziling were no exception. Although they had just undergone a transformation, they could sense Wanwan’s extraordinary nature at a glance.
Of course, the most important thing was that this woman was simply too enchanting. When she first appeared, everyone thought she was a ruthless killer.
But then she transformed into this adorable girl, and every smile and glance seemed to draw everyone’s attention as if she were gazing directly at them.
She was simply like a fairy!
But what was going on with their master? Did this mean he was about to gain another junior sister?
Kou Zhong and Xu Ziling exchanged curious glances and quietly stepped forward to stand beside their master, taking in the beauty before them.
