Almost everyone was busy, their expressions serious, with a glimmer of calmness and wisdom in their eyes.
But only Ye Kai stood out as the sole individual in the laboratory who appeared relaxed, even wearing a strange smile as he observed everything before him.
"Energy block ready!"
"Backup power ready!"
"High-frequency oscillation transceiver ready!"
"Gamma ray aggregator ready!"
"Radioactive isotope detector ready!"
Listening to the series of technical terms, Ye Kai began to prepare himself.
He needed to retract the machine at the very moment it was about to activate, and he also had to throw out the imitation device. Of course, while the thrown device possessed some functionality, it was only capable of opening a wormhole.
However, whether this wormhole could actually take shape was explained by the deity to have a 54% chance of occurring. But it would not transport them to the past or ancient times; instead, it would open a hair-thin portal leading to the Cosmic Starry Sky.
Yet, this machine would also explode into fragments in an instant.
At present, they were absolutely unlikely to recreate a complete time machine.
Given their current technological level, they could not produce materials capable of withstanding the immense impact from a Powerful Being when opening a wormhole.
Of course, whether that would change in the future was uncertain for Ye Kai. Perhaps success was possible; after all, this world had changed significantly, and technological progress had accelerated severalfold.
Just as Dr. Frank Reno was about to press the activation button, Ye Kai's pupils suddenly dilated several times, hypnotizing everyone in an instant.
He then quickly stored the Time Locator, which stood in the center of the room, into the System Space and took out a similar device.
Everything was completed in less than two seconds, showcasing how excited Ye Kai was.
"Activate!"
As he retracted his Ability, no one noticed anything unusual; Dr. Frank Reno remained fervently pressing down.
"Zzzz!!!"
A series of crackling sounds erupted, and a blinding blue-white Radiance burst forth from a point in the center of the machine, nearly preventing everyone from opening their eyes.
"Buzz!"
The dazzling light lasted for less than three seconds before abruptly retracting back to that central point. Then, a strange wave instantly radiated out, causing everyone to tremble.
However, at that moment, Ye Kai felt a tingling sensation on his scalp.
This was because the wave was characteristic of a wormhole opening, a conclusion reached through divine detection.
"Bang!!!"
Suddenly, a powerful shockwave erupted again, instantly destroying the Time Locator and revealing a scene that left everyone dumbfounded.
Visible blue-white ripples appeared around that point. Under everyone's gaze, they resembled a clawing octopus, tearing apart everything within reach and dragging it back to that point.
Then, everything returned to calm.
If it weren't for the countless fragments of machines scattered around and the deep cuts etched into the ground, almost everyone would think they were hallucinating or seeing things.
Because everything had happened too quickly.
So fast that it left no time for anyone to react; from the appearance of the fluctuations to the conclusion of the entire event, it was barely a matter of seven or eight seconds.
At this moment, Ye Kai let out a long sigh of relief. At least the catastrophic explosion he had imagined did not occur, and only a few researchers sustained minor injuries.
"We really did it!"
"That scene just now was definitely a spatial wormhole!"
"Frank Lino, Ph.D., we succeeded!"

He wanted to tell these people the truth and see their expressions upon learning it; that would surely be amusing.
After chatting with several key researchers, he strolled out of the lab.
After all, this place would need extensive repairs; otherwise, it would be unusable as a laboratory again.
Everything that could be gained had been obtained, so now it was up to the divine.
"God, has the fusion been completed?" Ye Kai's eyes sparkled with excitement. He felt that his decision to come to this dimension was truly the right one.
“Lord God, the current Fusion is at 1%. The estimated time for complete Fusion is 1:1:55.”
“Is it really going to take that long?”
Ye Kai was momentarily speechless. Although he didn't immediately collapse, the time given by the deity struck him hard.
However, he was unaware that his actions had caused ripples among the upper echelons of New York, with some prominent figures already preparing to confront him.
After all, the secret military research base beneath the Brooklyn Antique Shop was not something to be taken lightly!
It housed a wealth of data and cutting-edge research achievements. Now, anyone even slightly sensitive to the term 'secret' could realize that there was an undiscovered laboratory hidden here!
Thus, staying here was no longer an option.
It couldn't be protected!

When Robert saw this report, he was visibly upset. Frowning deeply, he slammed his hand on the table, startling several staff members.

But now, their nearly infallible commander was throwing a tantrum?!
Who could explain what was going on? Was the short-statured leader back at it again?
Unfortunately, just as everyone was in shock, Robert Keynes slammed his hand down on the table once more and coldly said, "Notify Mr. President that I need to see him immediately."
"But at this time..." a blonde female secretary hesitated to speak.
"Now, right now, immediately!!!"
Robert shot up from his seat, his face dark with anger as he shouted, "Everyone needs to get serious! The war isn't over yet, and you think you can slack off?"

Everyone was speechless. If it weren't for the fact that they couldn't overpower him and he held the highest rank, someone would have likely punched him by now.
