“Steve? Help!”
Ye Kai glanced at Howard, who shrugged in confusion. He then stood up and walked toward the door.
“Ye, come quickly! Erskine is hurt, badly! You need to hurry…”
Steve felt a deep gratitude for Abraham Erskine, who was like a second father to him. Without him, there would be no Captain America today.
Now, he was nearly frantic, holding back his injuries as tears streamed down his face while he shouted.
“What?”
Howard jumped up in shock and exclaimed, “Ye, you need to use your serum to save him! Hurry!”
“How is that possible?”
Ye Kai furrowed his brow and transformed into a blur as he dashed through the living room and out the front door. Upon seeing Steve cradling Erskine, he immediately said, “Keep him still. Don’t move. Let me take a look.”
“Hmm? It seems my future child's godfather has some other 'secrets' too!”
After a brief flicker of uncertainty in his eyes, Howard followed closely behind. He was quite familiar with Erskine; although their fields of expertise differed, it didn’t hinder their friendship.
Moreover, Erskine possessed the Super Serum, the powerful serum that could transform a man barely 5'7" into Captain America!
If it could be mass-produced, wouldn’t that mean America would become the most powerful nation? And if he could obtain production rights…
Looking at Erskine's pale face and the fading light in his eyes, Ye Kai’s expression darkened. After scanning with divine insight, he realized that Erskine's injuries were far from simple.
“Lord God, please place Abraham Erskine into the Bio Warrior incubation chamber. In one hour, he will recover.”
After signaling to Steve and the others to step back, Ye Kai unhesitatingly transferred Erskine into the System Space. His tone softened slightly as he added, “Don’t worry, he’ll be fine. As long as he’s not dead on the spot, I’m confident I can ensure his complete recovery.”
However, deep inside, Ye Kai was filled with rage. Not only did Erskine have gunshot wounds, but there was also a strange energy cluster within him. Moreover, a significant amount of deadly poison was found in his blood.
Ye Kai valued Erskine highly as the first researcher to follow him—not just for his Super Serum but also for the man’s character.
Anyone who has seen the movie knows that even when facing death, Erskine smiled and pointed at Captain America’s heart, uttering those words that moved him deeply: “Remember, be a good person.”
Ye Kai admitted that he could not be a good person, nor was he one. Yet he admired someone like Erskine, who had his own beliefs and pursuits.
Throughout history, how many people have been able to think of others even in the face of death or at the moment of dying?
He didn’t know many such individuals, but whenever he encountered one, he would sincerely admire them because that is what true greatness is.
Taking a deep breath, Ye Kai turned and strode into the room, coldly stating, “Everyone else stay on guard. Steve, come with me.”
Looking at his friend sitting on the living room sofa, Steve felt a wave of guilt wash over him, hesitating to speak.
Howard noticed too; it seemed that this time Ye Kai was genuinely angry. In all their time together, this was the first time he had seen such an expression.
Though Ye Kai often erupted in anger every morning, it was merely a release of morning grumpiness. Now, however, Howard sensed a murderous intent—an overwhelming aura of danger.
“Cut off one head and two more will grow in its place.”
Ye Kai suppressed his fury and scoffed lightly. “Hydra’s agents?”
He was truly fed up with the agents of Hydra. He had already dealt with the Hydra agent that was supposed to appear when Steve completed his transformation.
Unfortunately, that was just one of many; there were still more agents lurking in the shadows.
However, during this period of leisurely living and the arrival of various top-tier researchers, he had to divide his attention so much that he nearly forgot about Hydra.
Steve paused for a moment, then recalled the mystery surrounding his friend, awkwardly nodding in agreement. "Yes, it's the Hydra agents."
"Hydra!"
Howard's expression turned serious. He had a deep-seated wariness towards Hydra because these people were outright lunatics, fanatically devoted to their leader—John Schmidt.
For this guy, these agents would never care about their own lives. Even if they were strapped with bombs to commit suicide, they would fervently shout 'Hail Hydra.'
Howard found this cult-like organization of agents troublesome. He didn't have any good solutions; all he could do was increase the level of vigilance.
"Damn Schmidt," Ye Kai muttered under his breath before coldly declaring, "You don't need to worry about this. I will make John Schmidt understand the consequences of angering me, and he will pay dearly for his actions!"
Upon hearing this, both Steve and Howard felt a jolt in their hearts and silently began to mourn for the Hydra agents.
Only those who spent time with Ye Kai truly understood his mindset; he would never let anyone get away with wronging him without consequences.
After someone reassured them that Erskine was not in danger, the two exchanged glances and began to feel a sense of schadenfreude.
After all, whether it was Colonel Philip, Agent Carter, or themselves, they had all practically begged Ye Kai to step in, knowing he had many Super Soldiers at his disposal.
Each of them possessed physical qualities comparable to Steve, along with exceptional combat abilities. Moreover, they still had no idea how many such talents existed!
How could this not delight the military, even making them eager to recruit?
However, no matter who came or what promises were made, there was no way to make him relent; this guy was simply impervious to persuasion.
But now…
Seeing the strange smiles on Steve and Howard's faces, Ye Kai rolled his eyes and said, "You want to know how much power I have in my hands? This time, I'll let you see for yourselves."
With a light wave of his hand, more than a dozen fully armed Bio Warriors suddenly appeared in the living room, and soon after, many more followed.
There were so many that Steve and Howard went from expressions of shock to astonishment, eventually turning into blank stares.
At this point, Ye Kai felt a bit impatient. He stepped outside onto the lawn and performed a massive summoning, bringing forth five hundred fully armed Bio Warriors.
Adding those he had summoned earlier, the total exceeded six hundred, nearing seven hundred.
Although these Bio Warriors were not wearing Holy Rune Armor, their fierce presence, synchronized movements, and battle cries left everyone stunned in awe.
