At that moment, even Ye Kai himself seemed to be lost in the distant river of history.
The audience, however, had already been so shocked that they could hardly contain themselves. Almost everyone was drenched in cold sweat, trembling with fear, as if they were trapped in a nightmare from which they could never awaken.
After a long while, Ye Kai let out a low sigh once more. Suddenly, his eyes flashed with a chilling light, and he gripped his staff tightly. With a loud thud, the room was instantly filled with blinding white light.
"Monsters rampage, the Demon King reigns unchecked, but at the same time, there are humans who, under the guidance of Deity, have found their own path. In that most tumultuous and darkest of times, they ignited the flame of dignity and established the first and most brilliant civilization in human history—the Gandaya Civilization."
"Boom!"
Excitement!
Thrill!
Roaring!
Indescribable emotions surged within them, and uncontainable joy boiled over. Even their souls seemed to transcend in that moment, soaring high.
For the dignity of being 'human'!
For the freedom of countless innocent compatriots!
And for all those lives lost under the onslaught of monsters...
Fight!
To die without regret!!!
As long as life endures, the battle will never cease!!!
Amidst the cries of anguish and fury, a brutal and terrifying battle between humans and demons erupted suddenly.
Countless strong and robust humans awakened at that moment, unleashing a power so formidable that even the gods were shaken. This was a terrifying force known as superpower.
Every second, every moment, countless lives were lost.
Yet even in their final moments, as death approached, they radiated the most brilliant light of their lives—a Radiance that sang the Soul Song of Ode to Life in joyous celebration.
With their last ounce of strength, they detonated their souls at the moment when the monsters were about to tear them apart and feast upon them.
In a final burst of hearty laughter, they perished alongside countless demons.
It was precisely at this moment of explosive soul light that the Vengeful Spirits wandering the earth, filled with resentment and sorrow, were cleansed of their endless filth. In a chorus of uplifting roars and laughter, they wept and cried out as they reincarnated once more.
This is why to be born as a human means to descend into the world with tears.
They mourned for their ancient ancestors while rejoicing in the slim chance of survival that came from their sacrifices.
This is the Ode to Life!
This is also the battle hymn of existence!
This is the most cherished treasure left by the First Generation Civilization for future generations—Freedom and Dignity!!!
No freedom, better death!!!
Even when filled with rage and sorrow, even when their souls have endured torment, as long as that last flicker of life known as 'human' has not yet extinguished.
"Then, let the battle begin!!!
Fight until our bodies are broken!!!
Fight until our souls explode!!!
Even if we fight to the end, we will laugh maniacally as we perish alongside the monsters. This is the dignity of being 'human,' and the most noble trait of being alive.
The flashes of blades and swords, 'Blood Rain and Wind of Carnage,' these two phrases perfectly encapsulate that era.
From that moment on, countless humans began to awaken. Regardless of gender or age, even a Three-Year-Old Child possessed immense strength.
Countless warriors who had lost their loved ones frantically began hunting down monsters. Even if they transformed into demons themselves, they would annihilate those monsters that trampled upon the world and slaughtered humanity without mercy.
The cries of 'battle' echoed through the land, accompanied by hearty laughter and uplifting soul-shouting that swept across the earth.
It was this generation of humans, undeterred by their own exploration and fierce fighting, that created countless schools of combat: Divine Power, Wizards, Sorcerers, Superpowers, Spells, Divine Ability—almost every imaginable form of Representative power erupted with brilliant Radiance during that extraordinary time.
Ye Kai continued to speak slowly: 'In that era, there was a saying that resonated in the hearts of all humanity: as long as there is one human left alive, then The Spark of Life will continue to thrive, Eternal Legacy.'
'Eternal Legacy...'
'Can you imagine the struggle between life and death? Even if a hand is broken, one would kick and stomp with their feet. If the feet are broken too, then one would headbutt or bite. Even if their head is bloodied and bruised, even if all their teeth shatter, this person would still laugh defiantly at the last moment, exploding their soul to emit the most eternal Soul Radiance—Ode to Life.'
'Every person fought bravely; every individual pressed forward without hesitation. In the moment of passing, each life would unleash a final cry that tore apart countless monsters.'
'In that darkest era, it was precisely because of their relentless battles and the bravery of these beloved people that we have the beautiful life we enjoy today.'"
"When lives fade away and wither, when the flowers of the soul bloom, when the echoes of tragic howls resonate through the land, when this group..."
"When this group of lovely people fights for their last homeland, to guard the final glimmer of light in their hearts, even if it means transforming into demons, their determination truly evokes a grandeur that moves even the gods..."
"Do you understand?"
Ye Kai's staff paused slightly, its radiance dimming to leave only a basketball-sized orb of light hovering at its tip. He surveyed everyone around him and gently said, "Do you know? When I first saw a mother driven to madness, slaughtering monsters for her child, that kind of insanity paired with profound maternal love—do you comprehend the shock I felt at that moment?"
"But..."
Nick clenched his fists tightly in anger, his eyes reddening. He gritted his teeth and hissed, "What about the gods? Why don’t the gods come to help people? Why? Aren't gods supposed to love humanity? Aren't they supposed to be compassionate? Shouldn't they protect their own people? Why?"
"Why haven’t they appeared? Why do they allow monsters to slaughter humans? Why?"
Casting a glance at Nick, Ye Kai suddenly seemed to be enveloped in radiance. It was as if he were surrounded by a mysterious light emanating from within him. "Do you know?"
Again with this question!!!
Everyone felt a chill run through them; they had developed a deep reverence for Ye Kai's opening line.
"Gods cannot be killed, which is why an ancient saying endures: 'Divinity is immortal, divine essence is indestructible.' However, being unkillable does not mean they will not die. As long as they are willing, as long as they choose to do so, then they can die."
At this point, Ye Kai rose abruptly, slowly floating in mid-air. His expression transformed into one of authority, and an aura so profound it instilled fear erupted from him, pressing down on everyone like a weight upon their chests.
"In order to teach humanity how to fight, to help them find their own path, the Thunder God fell, the Wind God fell, the Fire God fell, the Water God fell, and the Earth God fell..."
"In order to drive away demons and restore peace to the land, so that no child would ever have to be born without seeing their parents again—and for this world—they all chose self-exile, shattering their divinity and transforming into countless flames of life that merged into new beings..."
"When you see companions who have been together for billions of years slowly fading away before your eyes with a comforting smile, do you understand my feelings?"
"When they look at you and say, 'From now on, this world depends on you,' do you know how much pain is in my heart?"
"When the last of the monsters was completely sealed away, and when humanity learned to weigh benefits and losses, constantly betraying companions, poisoning parents and mentors, brothers and sisters, do you know how I felt at that moment?"
"For the sake of humanity, for the sake of this world's creatures, do you know what great price we have paid?"
"All for you... just because of your words: 'O revered God, I praise you,' 'O revered God, please save us,' 'O revered God, I seek your forgiveness'..."
