Chapter 4: The Sea of Filth
The Qingming Event in Yin City rewards participants with Supreme Soul Coins, and like Yin-Yang City, it is a public Dungeon. However, it is one of the few events that restricts combat. Although it should be a safe affair, Yan chose not to participate to avoid revealing unnecessary information.
Thus, Yan arrived at the Cloud Emperor's Mansion two days in advance to wait.
When Lian Yun arrived, there was no need for conversation; they simply sat across from each other, focusing on their cultivation. They confirmed the insights transmitted between their main body and avatar, feeling reassured that there were no discrepancies due to the differences between Yin City and Yin-Yang City.
After exchanging supplies, they parted ways. Lian Yun left first, while Yan could afford to wait a few more days.
Upon returning to Xianyang City, Lian Yun accepted a mission to hunt Filth from Li Qing. Following this, a new interface titled 'Filth Realm' appeared on their personal attributes panel.
The Filth Realm had two properties: one was teleportation, indicating that they could be transported there at any time. The second was Filth; upon clicking it, a list of Filth appeared below.
Filth Horns, Filth Bugs, Impure Beasts...
All these entries were gray. According to Li Qing, defeating the corresponding Filth would illuminate the entries on the list. Once the list was opened, they could directly receive Imperial Coin rewards.
Occasionally, the Emperor would randomly issue missions that would also be displayed on the Filth Realm page for easy claiming, which was quite convenient.
Originally, Lian Yun could have gone directly to the Filth Realm. However, considering that it was a place accessible only to those of Peerless Monarch strength and the hostility from foreign individuals, Lian Yun decided it was best to accompany the Insect Emperor first.

"This is the only safe place here; surrounding us is Filth. Currently in a liquid state, it cannot be eliminated until it forms individual entities. The areas around the island are usually cleared by others; thus, if you want to hunt Filth, you'll have to venture far from the island."
"By the way, how large is your spatial storage?"
"Twenty-one cubic meters," Lian Yun replied with slight confusion.
"I can't believe there are so many. Listen carefully, this place is the only safe zone, so there are no Teleportation Arrays outside. If you want to return, you generally need to establish a spatial teleportation portal. A personal teleportation portal can create one cubic space. Since you have twenty-one cubes, you can establish twenty-one Teleportation Arrays."
"The portals you create are fixed locations, so don't build them carelessly; instead, set them up at the edges of areas where Filth is densely populated. However, the area you choose cannot be random. For example, if it's a place where I frequently battle, and you set up a portal there, I won't let you fight in that spot, let alone others."
"However, the Filth Realm is vast, and with only about a hundred combatants, there are plenty of places to establish portals. Zhang Yilian likes to roam around; when the time comes, let him give you a combat coordinate."
"Additionally, personal spatial teleportation portals can only be used by the individual who created them, so don't think about using someone else's. Moreover, each teleportation costs one hundred thousand Imperial Coins, so under normal circumstances, we wouldn't use the portals lightly. However, if we encounter an insurmountable danger, we can teleport back to the Twelve Cities for free; it's a means of survival."
The Insect Emperor seemed unusually responsible as he introduced Lian Yun to these concepts.
Lian Yun nodded slightly, finally understanding why Li Qing had hinted at choosing the personal space reward after the High Emperor Beast Tide.
"Although this place is considered safe, the central area is where the Half Emperor rests. Don't wander in without reason; even if you have business here, don't enter recklessly. The edge of this area is generally one-third Land of Huaxia; the rest is foreign territory. Don't overstep your bounds easily to avoid giving others a reason to encircle and eliminate you."
Lian Yun's expression grew slightly serious as he nodded.
If no one had informed him of this, Lian Yun might have inadvertently crossed a line and brought unnecessary trouble upon himself.
"Alright, we also have clear divisions within Land of Huaxia. Anyway, there's not much to see on this island; just choose a spot next to us as your base!"
Clearly, the Insect Emperor, Fang Wu, and Zhang Yilian formed an alliance. However, from the Insect Emperor's words, it seemed that their relationship was merely a combination of interests—there might be some friendship involved, but it certainly wasn't deep enough for life-and-death bonds.
Since the Insect Emperor had just asked Zhang Yilian for one coordinate, it meant that Lian Yun needed to purchase twenty coordinates. If he didn't buy them, Lian Yun would have to explore the entire Filth Realm on his own. This would not only take a long time but could also lead him into someone else's territory.
If he happened to pass through the Half Emperor's area, even a single misstep could lead to his doom.
Following the Insect Emperor for over ten miles brought them to a flat area with three houses forged from metalwork. They weren't luxurious or grandiose but had a unique charm.
It felt like an equipment piece that provided immense security when residing within it.
Lian Yun noticed many aspects of Fang Wu's forging skills displayed in those structures.
To be honest, upon seeing the three houses, Lian Yun felt an urge to enter one of them. However, Lian Yun had never had much desire for food, clothing, or shelter, so he did not go inside.
Instead, Lian Yun found a large rock nearby and, using Sword One as a pointer, carved out a hole with several Sword Techniques. He then placed the stone from the hole next to the three houses.
The Insect Emperor said nothing about this; after a moment of silence, he spoke, "Zhang Yilian usually returns once a week or once a month. I'll take you to a place I often visit so you can witness true Filth!"
"Is it the kind of Filth Bug that has Insect Qi?" Lian Yun asked with some interest.
The Insect Emperor's brow twitched slightly at that. It was something even Half Emperors would not easily provoke, yet this person dared to mention it...
Although he did not know how Lian Yun would utilize Insect Qi, he was certain that it would be beneficial for him.
With that thought in mind, he nodded and took off into the air with Lian Yun.
Flying with Sword Control was three times more difficult than in the Twelve Names area. This was likely due to the thick Filth on the surface of the sea, which created pressure! However, it also made Lian Yun realize one important thing: he needed to maintain a fighting spirit at all times; otherwise, if he fell into the sea, it would likely be disastrous.
During their flight, the Insect Emperor seemed to ponder deeply before saying, "The place where I established the Teleportation Array was outside this region. Now we are deep within it, close to the center. If you can handle it, you can set up a portal there."
