Chapter 1: The Establishment of the Guild
There was one more thing that had to be mentioned: if it weren't for Li Si, Lian Yun might not have known how to use the Three Golden Hairs. Even if he wanted to know, he would have to complete some arduous tasks to obtain the answer.
Li Si had always been associated with the Three Golden Hairs, which was one reason for this. It might also be a special favor from the Emperor towards Xianyang City, and that contributed to the situation as well.
In fact, when Lian Yun communicated with the Three Golden Hairs, his own consciousness was within his Dantian, creating a somewhat awkward feeling as if he were talking to himself while addressing a different body.
Next came the issue of cultivating the Three Golden Hairs. This wasn't a big problem; although Lian Yun himself wasn't a Spirit, he had a certain understanding of Spirit growth.
Moreover, in the early stages, he could draw on the experiences of over twenty Ghost Slaves.
After all, the thoughts of the Three Golden Hairs were his own thoughts. They would autonomously inquire about the cultivation methods from the Ghost Slaves, so Lian Yun's main consciousness returned to his body.
Then he saw Li Si smiling mysteriously.
Feeling that his body was still quite weak, Lian Yun decided to discuss with Li Si his intention to establish a guild.
Upon learning that establishing a force required a Baron title and one million White Spirit Coins, Lian Yun felt somewhat speechless; it seemed quite burdensome.
Nevertheless, Lian Yun went home and retrieved one million White Spirit Coins. This was merely a requirement; even if Lian Yun offered one hundred Diamond Spirit Coins, Li Si wouldn't gain any benefits from it. Thus, Lian Yun naturally wouldn't waste them.
After receiving Li Si's confirmation, Lian Yun officially established a guild named Cloud Realm.
The newly formed guild was at a low-tier level and could only accommodate two hundred members. However, all positions were filled: Lian Yun served as Realm Master, with two Vice Realm Master positions available and five Elder seats. Future position levels could be defined freely.
Lian Yun thought for a moment and appointed Ma Wenlong as a Vice Realm Master. The remaining positions would be divided by him later. However, after some consideration, he decided to look for Lin Xiaoyao's name.
This cousin had arrived in Yin Yang City on the same day as him and had not been heard from since. Although Lian Yun wasn't particularly worried about his safety, he still cared somewhat. Therefore, he planned to bring him into the guild for easier contact.
However, after searching for Lin Xiaoyao and Lin Wulang among other names without finding any trace of him, he could only helplessly give up. He had no idea what name this cousin had chosen for himself.
Afterward, Lian Yun planned to bring the General into the fold. By simply entering the General's name, he found her presence; however, she held the status of an Elder in the Azure Pavilion, making it impossible for Lian Yun to pull her in directly. Not only that, but he suddenly received a prompt indicating he had gained the status of a Guest Elder in the Azure Pavilion.
Confused, Lian Yun confirmed this and then handed over a White Spirit Coin to Li Si to receive the Azure Pavilion badge. Just as he got it, he heard the General laugh heartily, "Haha, little brother, the force you've just established is merely a third-rate power. Only when you reach at least a second-rate power can you open up Guest Elder positions. At that time, you can bring me in."
Lian Yun merely wanted a convenient way to stay in touch; he had no special intentions. Now that he had the Azure Pavilion badge, there was no need to bring the General in.
With a simple response, Lian Yun stored the badge in his spatial pocket and prepared to receive the Cloud Realm badge. However, Li Si informed him that he needed to set the shape of the badge himself.
For Lian Yun, any plain black circle would suffice as long as it allowed communication. But considering that he would eventually hand over this force, he thought carefully about it.
In the end, he decided on a design featuring a white cloud with four long swords inserted into it, representing the four major departments: Mechanism, Battle, Kill, and Palace.
However, before Lian Yun could finalize this design and claim his badge, someone else altered it. Thus, what he received from Li Si was a badge shaped like a character for "realm," resembling a cloud. The token bore two ancient characters for "cloud," giving it an air of antiquity.
It wasn't extravagant but had its own charm.
On the back of Lian Yun's token was another character that likely indicated his position. This way, badges with similar appearances could serve to conceal the identities of certain important figures.
Naturally, Lian Yun didn't mind this; he just felt somewhat speechless. Had he known Ma Wenlong had already planned everything out, he wouldn't have bothered thinking so hard.
Later on, Lian Yun received a letter from Ma Wenlong stating that members of the Cloud Realm had acquired resources and were taking on tasks they previously hesitated to attempt. He only needed to complete mission officer tasks and Dungeon missions within ten days without rushing.
Thus, Lian Yun spent one million Honor Points to purchase the title of Viscount.
Although nearly half of his Honor Points were gone, some things couldn't be saved; they had to be used to gain more opportunities. For instance, while a Baron title only provided a one percent bonus on mission rewards, a Viscount title offered a three percent bonus.
Therefore, Lian Yun believed that purchasing the Viscount title with Honor Points would eventually pay off; if not used early on, his initial missions would lack this bonus—essentially wasting opportunities.
Additionally, as a Viscount, he could own five acres of residential land but would need to spend Honor Points to expand it. This seemed unnecessary to waste.
The guild had already been established. Since Ma Wenlong wasn't in a hurry regarding mission officers or guild-exclusive secret realms, Lian Yun left the lord's mansion and returned to his estate courtyard to take out Withered Glory and play.
He did not intentionally seek to increase the number of Greatswords; he simply wanted to restore his mental state.
This was the only drawback of having three clones, as it felt like his soul had been fragmented, making recovery quite difficult.
Fortunately, Lian Yun still had Mental Potions, which served as nourishment to help his soul recover more quickly.
Even so, when Lian Yun consumed all the Mental Potions, he had only managed to recover to eighty percent.
To this end, Lian Yun specifically went to the Treasure Alliance in Chang'an City and laid down a thousand Diamond Spirit Coins, asking them to help him gather more Mental Potions and a couple of outfits that could shield him from prying eyes.
This time, Qian Duoduo could not refuse. It was important to note that Mental Potions were not something that could be purchased with White Spirit Coins; without Diamond Spirit Coins, he could not assist Lian Yun. All he could do was use the thousand Diamond Spirit Coins to buy as many bottles of Mental Potion as possible for Lian Yun.
Seeing Lian Yun's pale complexion, he couldn't help but express a bit of concern.
Lian Yun smiled gratefully in response and left without further explanation.
Upon returning to Xianyang City, Lian Yun first restored his physical realm to the Peak of Kings and then planned to push through several Ranking Lists.
