Chapter 07: The Sensation
After Lian Yun followed the Insect Emperor out of the Treasure Merchant Association, the surroundings were completely dark, yet Central Square was as bright as day.
Then, voices filled the air with shock: "The Insect Emperor actually brought someone along. Could this mean something has changed?"
"The key point is, how could the Leader of Azure Pavilion be with the Insect Emperor? Is there some connection between them?"
"Who is this man? I've never seen him before, but it seems that to receive special treatment from the Insect Emperor, he must possess extraordinary strength."

The crowd buzzed with discussion, and at that moment, Lian Yun was the center of attention.
Neither the Insect Emperor nor Lian Yun seemed particularly affected by the chatter, but the general was filled with pride and joy, responding loudly.

However, the general was momentarily at a loss, unsure of how to respond.
The Insect Emperor seemed to genuinely enjoy teasing the General, saying, "You just love to brag. It's only natural for you to appear in the top ten; your words are hanging in the air."
It was unclear what the Insect Emperor's intentions were, considering that the General was merely ranked among the top hundred, not necessarily the top ten.
However, provoked by the Insect Emperor's remarks, the General immediately retorted, "Nonsense! I will definitely make it into the top ten."
"And what if you don't?" The Insect Emperor turned around, looking at Lian Yun's back with a smirk.
The General glared angrily, but then suddenly had an idea to tease the Insect Emperor back. She patted Lian Yun's shoulder and boldly declared, "If I don't make it into the top ten, I'll have my little brother become your disciple."
"Deal! It's a promise!" The Insect Emperor readily agreed and turned to leave with a light step.
Lian Yun could only facepalm in exasperation, realizing that she had just been sold out. She thought about how difficult it would be to get into the top ten; even if she couldn't make it herself, she would have to help the General get there.
At that moment, the General seemed to realize she might have been tricked and deflated like a wilted eggplant. Like a child who had made a mistake, she turned to Lian Yun and said, "It's Old Bug's fault for being so infuriating. You have to help me; otherwise, you'll fall into Old Bug's misery too."
Though she acknowledged her mistake, her words held no hint of mercy.
Lian Yun retorted, "What else can we do? Once we enter the secret realm, you should learn from a real general first."
"A real general? Which one? The famous one from history? Is he impressive?" The General perked up immediately. Before Lian Yun could finish her thought, she bombarded her with questions, inadvertently revealing some of Lian Yun's secrets.
This left Lian Yun feeling even more helpless, as if she had encountered someone unworthy.
Meanwhile, ahead of them, the Insect Emperor paused briefly before an inexplicable chill swept through the air. Then he quickened his pace again, leaving everyone wondering what mischief he was plotting.
However, the reactions of those around were no better than before.
The Insect Emperor teasing a girl was indeed rare, but it wasn't shocking. After all, everyone has moments when their childlike heart remains intact. Although the Insect Emperor walked a fine line between good and evil, he wasn't devoid of humanity.
But what did the Insect Emperor's words mean?
Being in the top ten of the Year Beast Secret Realm was almost equivalent to being in the top ten of the Twelve Cities. The top ten of the Twelve Cities represented an existence that could easily defeat ordinary Monarchs, and it wasn't a simple challenge.
This man, whom no one had ever seen before, actually possessed the ability to be among the top ten? A king belonging to the top ten of Yin Yang City?
And what were the conditions set by the Leader? It was clearly a benefit for Bai Yun, and somewhat presumptuous.
