Chapter 5: Should I Become a Disciple?
Lian Yun calmly withdrew his finger, but before he could relax, the Insect Emperor grabbed him and said, "Kid, do you want to take me as your master?"

It was clear that he was determined to force Lian Yun into becoming his disciple.

Azure Drift and Meng Yixuan looked on in horror. They knew that the Insect Emperor walked a fine line between good and evil; while he wouldn’t intentionally bully the weak, he could kill without blinking.
However, to their surprise, the Insect Emperor nodded happily and said, "Yes, yes! Girl is right; The Three Thousand Paths lead to the same destination. If you take me as your master and learn my skills, you can still practice swordsmanship. I’m very open-minded about this; I won’t force you."
"Cut it out! Old Insect Emperor, if you really care, why not just pass it directly to my brother? Why does he have to become your disciple?"

To completely expel it would essentially mean devouring all of his Spiritual Energy. Yet no matter how much trust the Insect Emperor placed in Lian Yun, he could not allow Lian Yun to absorb all of his Spiritual Energy or permit himself to suddenly be left without any power.
Hearing Lian Yun's words, the Insect Emperor was greatly pleased. He sat back down and extended a hand. Although it was invisible, Lian Yun could still feel him withdrawing the Vibrational Force from his arm.
This indicated that while the Insect Emperor appeared somewhat rough around the edges, he was actually very meticulous at heart. His earlier reluctance to withdraw was merely to test Lian Yun's abilities.
