Chapter 196: A New Sister

The so-called Qin Young Master responded with a gentle smile that matched his demeanor: "My father heard that Blue Pavilion Master has just returned. Although his strength may not be at its peak and preparations are likely rushed, I may not be talented myself, but I am here on my father's orders to assist Blue Pavilion Master in any way I can."

This question seemed somewhat rhetorical, as Azure Wind Antelope had already mentioned the need to treat Lian Yun well. The intention of having Lian Yun take the stage was quite evident.
Asking how much stronger they were than Qin appeared humble, but it actually conveyed a sense of pride and indignation. It was as if they were saying that despite coming forward to assist you, you were rejecting them, which was quite disrespectful.

"Sister, do not be rude."

Lian Yun noticed that while this Qin Young Master looked at Meng Yixuan with indifference, his gaze towards the general held something different—something cold and ominous. As they followed Meng Yixuan upstairs and passed by the three of them, an unsettling chill crept up from her feet.
Lian Yun felt a bit helpless; this was truly an unexpected disaster. However, he did not show it, maintaining his usual demeanor.
After ascending a few more floors, it seemed that he wanted to ensure that the Qin Young Master wouldn't hear him before he said, "General, you should avoid being too subtle with that Qin Young Master. I feel like he has some inappropriate thoughts about you."
"Pfft~~ With Young Master Bai being so close to my junior sister, how could there be any inappropriate thoughts?" Meng Yixuan suddenly laughed.
With no outsiders around, Meng Yixuan seemed a bit more casual, giving off a more natural vibe.

Soon, the three of them reached the top floor of the main pavilion, where Lian Yun saw a stunning woman whose aura was no less than Meng Yixuan's but whose presence felt even more ethereal.
Before the three could speak, the woman said first, "Although my Azure Pavilion currently has the essence of Silk Green and Yellow Not Connecting, when it comes to beauty, we are still the best among the Twelve Cities. However, it seems that our guest has never properly looked at any of the ladies in our pavilion upon entering."
"Could it be that our guest has some special preferences?"
"Pfft~~ Pfft~~" Both the General and Meng Yixuan couldn't help but burst into laughter. Then Meng Yixuan covered her mouth in embarrassment while the General laughed heartily.
However, Lian Yun was momentarily confused and did not understand the meaning behind the woman's words.

Lian Yun instinctively scratched his head, but in doing so, he accidentally turned toward the general's face, and his hand was swiftly slapped away. He stood there for a moment, still somewhat bewildered.
Meng Yixuan continued, "Could it be that you already have someone you admire?"
A deep smile spread across Lian Yun's face as he replied, "There is indeed an Excellent Choice, one I dare not betray in this lifetime."
The woman shivered slightly, while Meng Yixuan looked up at him, her eyes sparkling with envy. Though they sold their talents and not their bodies, they were still part of the mortal world and understood the nature of men all too well.
If one only listened to Lian Yun, they might not take him seriously. However, despite their short acquaintance, she had come to know a little about his character.
She knew that Lian Yun was humble and courteous. To look directly at a beauty was a form of respect, yet Lian Yun could not instinctively do even that. This indicated that he truly held his Excellent Choice in his heart and would not waver unless he lost his senses.
While the two women sighed deeply at this revelation, the general made an inappropriate jest: "It must be that Le Yan you’re talking about. Tsk tsk, isn't it a bit early for you to be in love?"
