As time returned to the present, Liendel's heart was filled with a brutal killing intent. How dare these ants approach the Queen?
The intense emotion struck Laya immediately.
She shifted her angle slightly and raised her head, and indeed, she spotted the Silver-Haired Zerg on the rooftop not far away, who had firmly locked onto her and the few people around her.
Laya's pupils constricted sharply; these people could not die now, or the residents of the town would be in danger.
Just as Liendel was about to strike, Laya could no longer hesitate, even though she was truly reluctant to resort to this method.
Psychic Power erupted in an instant as she issued her first command as Queen.
"Stop."
Liendel's eyes widened suddenly, his expression momentarily blank.
Laya quickly channeled her Psychic Power, conveying her entire plan to Liendel, feeling a bit more at ease afterward.
What she didn't know was that Liendel hadn't heard a single word of the subsequent information.
In fact, at that moment, Liendel's mind was on the brink of collapse. The Queen was issuing commands again; how many more times did she need to control him before this nightmare would end?
The past nightmares surged like a flood, attempting to drag him into boundless madness.
Under the intense impact of negative emotions, the black lines in Liendel's Brain Region revived once more, energetically entwining with his mental source.
He knelt partially, trembling violently all over. Beneath the dimly lit sky, a beast-like wail echoed through the night.
Laya was unaware that Liendel was on the brink of losing control. She followed several men to a vast estate, where she soon encountered a middle-aged man with graying temples. His name was Yuan Zheng, an important official of the Celestial Palace Star government, which granted him the privilege of knowing the secrets of Laya's Psychic Power. However, he had ulterior motives.
Seeing Laya approach, Yuan Zheng smiled and nodded at her.
"Miss Laya, you have finally arrived. Please, take a seat."
"Don't pretend to be nice just because you didn't use those methods to summon me here. Just get to the point," Laya replied sharply.
Yuan Zheng chuckled again, faint wrinkles appearing on his not-so-young face.
"I apologize for my subordinate's immature behavior; the situation has become quite urgent. Lieutenant Sun wants to take you away from Celestial Palace Star because he has recognized the value of your abilities and wishes to draw you into the vortex of power as one of his trump cards."
Yuan Zheng sighed deeply, looking genuinely concerned for her. "Miss Laya, I assume you wouldn't want to leave Celestial Palace Star in such a muddled manner? Lieutenant Sun will be coming for you soon. To protect you, I had no choice but to bring you here quickly. It’s relatively safe here; stay with me for a while. As for your brother, I will find a way to keep him safe as well."
He feigned concern for her future, but he was unaware that beneath the surface of the girl's powerful Psychic Power, she had already seen through all his intentions.
"So this is your true purpose."
Yuan Zheng was taken aback. "What?"
In his eyes, the naive and easily deceived girl lifted her head, her expression blank, but a mocking light flickered in her eyes.
"These words must be about you," she said.
Hearing Laya's completely confident tone, Yuan Zheng truly panicked.
What was he doing here as an intelligence operative? Wasn't she supposed to be an innocent girl with little experience? How could she be so sharp and perceptive?
As expected of a cunning politician, Yuan Zheng quickly adjusted his emotions and prepared to continue the argument.
Suddenly, an extremely faint sound echoed, and a stream of white liquid sprayed against the window, corroding it into dust in an instant.
Sun Yan reacted swiftly, immediately jumping aside.
"What’s going on? Someone come quickly!"
Laya stared intently outside as a massive white spider slowly crawled into view. It was as tall as a floor, its body gleaming silver, exuding a terrifying yet strangely holy aura.
However, Laya was not frightened by its horrifying appearance. Through her Psychic Power link, she could confirm one thing: the White Spider was Liendel.
Her anxiety only grew. How could Liendel have turned into this? Why did it seem like he couldn't hear her voice anymore? What had happened to him?
