When Laya woke up again, the first thing she heard was the intense argument between two people.
"What are you two arguing about?"
Liendel was startled and quickly walked to her bedside, adjusting her pillow so she could lean back more comfortably.
After thanking him, Laya turned to Sun Yan. "Can you tell me what you were discussing with Brother Liendel?"
"Miss Laya, it's like this. Psychic Power Mania is almost regarded as an incurable disease, but your appearance has shattered this desperate reality. I am Lieutenant Sun Yan of the Human Federation's Third Legion, and I sincerely invite you to attend the finest military academy of the Human Federation for in-depth study and training."
"I don't know why, but Psychic Power Mania seems to flare up particularly on the front lines against the alien beasts. With your help, perhaps we..."
"I want to go."
Liendel looked at the Queen sitting on the bed with a mix of shock and anger. Did she know what she was saying?
Laya held Liendel's large hand with both of hers, silently soothing his emotions.
"Lieutenant, I am willing to go to the military academy, but I need you to provide me with the complete regulations. Also, wherever I go, I need to bring my brother along. If that's not possible, I'm afraid I cannot accept your invitation to the military academy."
Liendel stared blankly at the eloquent Queen.
The newly born Queen was fragile and easily susceptible to death.
Previously, he had thought of her as soft-spoken, lacking temper, having no opinions of her own, and not good at refusing others. But now, there was an undeniable determination shining in her eyes, as if this newly awakened ruler was igniting her will for the first time.
Did she want to escape from the Zerg's cage? Yet she actively requested to bring him along.
In that moment, a torrent of emotions surged within Liendel.
Sun Yan hadn't thought much about it; he was happily reaching out to find solutions to this series of problems.
Once the room was left with just the two of them, Laya slightly tilted her head and gazed directly into Liendel's eyes.
"Liendel, did you hear that? Lieutenant said they need my abilities. I want to go to the military academy, to where I'm needed."
At that moment, Laya felt a bit anxious. "Liendel, will you come with me?"
She was uncertain about Liendel's answer.
Faced with the expectant expression of the Queen, Liendel ultimately averted his gaze and agreed, "It's up to you; I'll always be by your side."
In the evening, just like every other day, Liendel sat on the balcony watching the sun slowly set. He told himself that this would be the last time; from now on, he would consciously keep his distance from the Queen and never let himself fall deeper.
He could feel the Queen's Psychic Power gradually approaching their home.
The thought of that warm word injected a surge of heat into his cold heart, but it was quickly suppressed by his will.
Suddenly, Liendel opened his eyes wide and stood up abruptly. The Queen seemed to be getting further away.
He knew very well that the Queen considered this place her home; even if she enjoyed being close to other humans, she would never stay out at night!
He realized it must be those damned ants surrounding her.
A pure and fierce killing intent ignited in his brilliant golden eyes.
Liendel jumped off the balcony, his Zerg-enhanced vision easily locking onto the Queen's location.
Then he saw Queen surrounded by five burly men, looking as if she were being coerced.
Just three minutes earlier, the five men had blocked Laya on her way home.
"We apologize for meeting you in this manner, Miss Laya. A significant figure wishes to see you. We heard you are about to embark on a journey, and this is why we have resorted to such measures."
Laya's expression shifted slightly as she repeated the words "significant figure."
She was well aware of how precious her healing Psychic Power was. The only method in the entire galaxy capable of curing Mania, if exposed, would unleash a tremendous storm.
Sun Yan would certainly not make a fuss to avoid trouble, so the intentions of these individuals were quite intriguing.
Seeing Laya remain silent, one of the men grew impatient. "Please, Miss Laya, do not make this difficult for us. Otherwise, it might disturb the peaceful life of an elderly person here."
Laya's eyes widened, and anger ignited in her heart; these people were threatening her.
She quickly calmed herself, stabilizing her restless Psychic Power.
"Fine, I will go with you."
She wanted to see what the person behind this was planning.
