In Taipei City, a tunnel leading to the "Underworld" was unexpectedly discovered, known as the most sinister tunnel in all of China—the Xinhai Tunnel.
Above the tunnel lies a vast cemetery, and whenever it rains, water mixed with corpses seeps from the top of the tunnel.
Even more terrifying is that the tunnel's exit leads directly to the Taipei Second Funeral Parlor.
Traveling south means heading to the funeral home for the deceased, while going north signifies leaving the funeral home after cremation to be buried in the cemetery.
Thus, anyone who drives through this tunnel is referred to as a "departed soul."

The incident took place in 2009 in Wenshan District, Taiwan. As the saying goes, "Everyone says sports cars are great; only fools buy trucks. If you can't marry a young wife, you end up with one you can't use."
Hearing that long-distance driving could bring wealth, Song Rentou sold everything he had to buy a truck and eagerly started his freight business.
It was his first time on the road, and he had to pass through the long Xinhai Tunnel, notorious in Taipei for its eerie reputation, claimed to be the most terrifying place in all of Taiwan—without exception.
Since its construction, countless inexplicable events have been reported there, with bloodshed occurring repeatedly and lives lost each time. Thus, seasoned drivers would rather take a detour of several dozen miles through mountain roads than risk traveling through this tunnel.
Unaware of its dangers, novice driver Song Rentou pressed down on the accelerator and drove straight into the tunnel. However, as soon as he entered, his vehicle inexplicably stalled.
After several unsuccessful attempts to restart it, he jumped out of the car to check if something had blocked the exhaust pipe. He circled around his vehicle several times but found no apparent issue.
Looking at both ends of the tunnel, he realized that several minutes had passed since his car broke down without a single vehicle passing by. Unable to find anyone to help him tow it out, he reluctantly took out his phone to call for a tow truck.
But just as he was about to dial, he realized his phone had no signal at all.
At that moment, Song Rentou felt a chill run down his back, as if a cold wind had swept through or danger was lurking nearby.
He turned around abruptly and saw a woman standing behind him, who had appeared out of nowhere. When she noticed that Song Rentou had spotted her, she opened her mouth to speak.
The kind-hearted woman said her son was sick and asked for a ride.
Following the woman's gaze, he saw a shadow of a child standing in the dark near the entrance of the tunnel.
Song Rentou was warm-hearted and would have usually agreed, but with his car broken down and uncertain whether it could be fixed, he hesitated.
Just then, the child took a few steps forward, and Song Rentou noticed the child's face was pale and his clothes looked damp. Given the cold and dampness of the tunnel, he suggested that the mother and child get in the car to warm up.
However, the woman said her child was too weak to walk and asked Song Rentou to help carry him. The mother seemed frail as well. Feeling pity for them, Song Rentou followed the woman toward the child.
But as he got closer, he realized that the child could not possibly be alive.
The child's skin was almost entirely rotting away, half of his face reduced to bone, with hollow eye sockets oozing thick blood.
Song Rentou immediately understood that he was encountering a ghost.
Just as he turned to run, he suddenly saw that the woman had blocked his path. Now she looked just like a corpse, screaming at him with a terrifyingly twisted expression.
The two figures slowly advanced toward him, one in front and one behind, paralyzing Song Rentou with fear. His legs felt weak as he trembled and held his head in his hands, nearly losing his mind from fright. With his eyes closed, he could clearly sense something drawing closer to him.
Just as Song Rentou was feeling tense, someone suddenly tapped him on the shoulder. Startled, he let out a high-pitched scream and was about to run away when he turned around to find that it was Zhu Dachang who had tapped him.
Zhu Dachang explained that he had seen Song Rentou talking to himself in the tunnel while gesturing with his hands. Concerned that he might be bewitched by something sinister, he decided to get out of the car to check on him.
Song Rentou stammered, wanting to tell Zhu Dachang about the two ghosts he had just seen, but when he turned around, he realized that the ghosts had vanished without a trace.
At that moment, Zhu Dachang urged him to hurry up and leave, mentioning that he had managed to start the car once while they were inside. For some unknown reason, the car seemed to be working fine now.
Hearing this, Song Rentou quickly ran back to the car. Once inside, he tried starting it, and sure enough, it roared to life immediately. He lit a cigarette to calm his nerves and began recounting the terrifying scene that had just unfolded.
After listening to him, Zhu Dachang didn’t say much but insisted that Song Rentou drive away from the tunnel as soon as possible. Being in the tunnel for too long was dangerous, and if those two ghosts appeared again, it would be troublesome.
Once they drove out of the tunnel, Song Rentou stopped at the nearest gas station. The earlier events had left him so shaken that his legs were still trembling, and he needed a moment to collect himself.
Later, he overheard someone at the gas station mention that a child had been hit by a car in that tunnel. The hit-and-run driver had fled the scene, leaving the child's mother standing there trying to stop cars for help. However, passing vehicles avoided her out of fear that stopping would bring them bad luck.
The woman held her injured child tightly in her arms until her voice went hoarse from crying out for help, watching helplessly as her child slowly lost consciousness.
In desperation, she stood in the middle of the tunnel trying to force passing cars to stop. But with the dim lighting and speeding vehicles, a tragic scene unfolded—both mother and child were killed under the wheels of a car.
Since then, many people have reported seeing the pair in that tunnel trying to flag down cars. Perhaps it was out of unwillingness to leave or anger at their fate; they lingered there, unable to move on.
