"Is there something you find hard to let go of?"
"Yes."
"Like what?"
"My mother."
"Anything else?"
"Yes."
"What is it?"
Just then, the elevator dinged as it reached the floor. Feng Ning smiled lightly at the person next to her, "Let's talk about it next time."
As soon as she walked into the studio, she heard Guan Tongfu shouting excitedly, "According to reliable sources, there's a big client coming in—an overseas goldmine! A goldmine!"
Feng Ning took off her work badge and casually placed it aside, pulled out a chair, and sat down, taking a sip of water. "Tell me more."
Guan Tongfu flipped through some documents. "It's a multinational company that just entered the Chinese market this year. They are planning to outsource their hotel promotions to a translation company."
Feng Ning's interest was piqued. "Have they started the bidding process?"
"It should be soon," Guan Tongfu replied. "I'll have Xiao Zhu prepare a PowerPoint presentation and send in a bid."
Xiao Zhu snapped back, "You do it yourself! I'm about to lose my mind dealing with these idiots!"
"What's wrong?"
Xiao Zhu put her hands on her hips and paced around the cubicle. "Haven't you seen? I've been proofreading lately. The client we're working with is completely clueless! I calmly explained the revisions needed to align with market positioning, but they didn't listen at all and even questioned my professionalism. I'm about to explode—what kind of weirdos are they?"
The group continued to grumble and complain while Feng Ning shut down her computer. "You all keep busy; I'm heading out early today."
"Why are you leaving so early?"
"Go back and catch up on sleep."
Xiao Zhu gave a salute, "Sister Ning, have a great weekend. See you next week."
Feng Ning flicked Xiao Zhu's forehead with her hand, "You too."
Xiao Zhu clutched her heart, looking utterly smitten. "Sister, what perfume are you wearing today? It smells amazing."

As she took the elevator down to the parking lot to retrieve her car, Feng Ning received another phone call while backing out.
Min Yueyue was shouting from the other end, "Ning Ning, let's go out for dinner tonight at Elder Brother Official."
Feng Ning glanced at the rearview mirror, maneuvering the car with one hand, and without a second thought, she declined, "Sister, find someone else. I don't have time to join you for that."
The last time they went to Heavenly Life Plaza, they had waited over two hundred tables for four to five hours. Halfway through, Min Yueyue insisted on taking a stroll downstairs and ended up missing their reservation. They didn't get to eat until three in the morning.
Min Yueyue wouldn't give up easily and whined over the phone, "Ning Ning, I'm begging you. I just got back from the Maldives and brought you so many gifts. I just want to see you! I've got so much gossip to share; I really miss you."
Min Yueyue was Feng Ning's roommate during her graduate studies. Coming from a wealthy family and spoiled by her parents, she was a true princess. Their dorm had four girls in total, and the other two didn't particularly like Min Yueyue, often privately criticizing her princess-like demeanor.
It wasn't surprising that they found her so annoying; their first impression of Min Yueyue was unforgettable.
On the first day of school, after three of them had finished their registration and were tidying up their dorm room, a pretentious and whiny voice suddenly broke the silence.
They all stopped what they were doing and turned in unison.
The slightly ajar door swung open to reveal Min Yueyue in head-to-toe Chanel, strutting in Valentino high heels while carrying a new Hermes bag.
This young lady seemed completely oblivious to them as she spun around in place, complaining to someone beside her, "Why is the graduate dorm building so shabby? It looks like a dangerous building. And this dorm environment looks terrible; are there cockroaches or rats here? My housekeeper's room is in better condition than this."
Her tone dripped with an air of superiority that immediately made one girl roll her eyes discreetly.
Min Yueyue generally didn’t stay in the dormitory; she only deigned to come and stay for a few days when finals were overwhelming, and then she would cling to Feng Ning, following her to the library to study. She had a poor memory and often forgot to complete the tasks assigned by her mentor.
The other two roommates were waiting to see the drama unfold, but only Feng Ning patiently reminded her.
One day, a roommate finally couldn’t hold back and complained, “Feng Ning, why are you so nice to Min Yueyue? It’s really annoying just seeing her.”
Feng Ning was translating a paper and didn’t react much to the comment. “Her? Isn’t she quite cute?”
“Cute??” The roommate couldn’t believe it. “Are you crazy? You actually think that peacock girl is cute.”
Feng Ning had come to A University through a recommendation for graduate studies, and at first, no one knew her.
When graduation came, a senior invited Feng Ning to join him in starting a business, and he opened his own company. So while studying for her master’s degree, Feng Ning was also very busy, often eating and attending classes alone.
Her personality was neither too warm nor too cold; she could joke around and lighten the mood but never got overly close to anyone. She was beautiful and handled everything with poise, making her secretly quite popular among both boys and girls.
The other two girls in the dorm actually wanted to be friends with her, but unexpectedly, Feng Ning ended up getting closer and closer to Min Yueyue.
