My Tenant is a Female Ghost
The power of the Miaojiang Gu Technique was something that those present had only heard about; none had truly experienced it. They all knew it was formidable, but the five exquisitely dressed Miaojiang Girls that night completely reshaped their understanding of the Miaojiang Gu Technique. It was not just terrifying; it was utterly horrifying! In the blink of an eye, the gruesome death of the Female Sorceress sent chills down the spines of everyone present.
"Well done, Fifth Sister! Sister and Third Sister will surely thank you from beyond! Qi, keep your Golden Silkworm Gu for now. Sisters, unleash your Gu Worms to avenge Sister and Third Sister!"
The three Sorcerers across from them glared at the remains of their junior sister, their fury palpable. The leader of the Sorcerers cursed in broken Chinese, "You filthy whores! I was just going to play with you, but you forced my hand! Die!"
Upon hearing his shout, Bai Zhuo and the others immediately became alert. However, he made no move. Suddenly, Fifth Sister beside Bai Zhuo clutched her stomach and screamed in agony!
"Ah—Sister! It hurts! Ah!" Fifth Sister collapsed to the ground, rolling in pain. The other girls were paralyzed with fear, kneeling beside her anxiously. Then came a series of sickening sounds as sharp shards of glass burst forth from Fifth Sister's abdomen, spilling blood everywhere!
"Fifth Sister!" "Five!" "Sister!"
The sisters cried out in despair as blood pooled beneath Fifth Sister. Blood gushed from her mouth and nose while the scorpion-like Gu Worm on her body struggled for a moment before falling silent. Her master would never close her eyes again!
"Blech—" Bai Zhuo had been standing next to Fifth Sister, but upon witnessing her horrific state, he doubled over and vomited. He could endure the terror of ghosts because he was used to it, but he could not handle the raw stench and sight of blood. He retched repeatedly, seemingly expelling even last night's meal.
Though Zhu Man was heartbroken, she remained relatively calm as she pulled a few sisters together. "Glass shards! When did this happen...? We were all together; how did these people get their hands on Fifth Sister's belongings?"
Several Miaojiang Girls were less composed and began to weep. Only Qi trembled as she spoke, "Last night, a few Sisters were bored at the hotel and wanted to go out for fun. I was too tired... so I stayed behind. It must have been then..."
"Ah!" Zhu Man gasped in shock. "Except for me and Qi, you all went out together?" Her eyes filled with profound sorrow as she glanced back at Bai Zhuo, who was still retching, and made a resolute decision.
The remaining Fourth Sister and Sixth Sister understood their fate by looking at Zhu Man's expression; they turned pale and began to cry.
With tears in her eyes, Zhu Man looked at her two younger sisters, feeling immense grief. Three out of their seven sisters were now dead; the remaining two had likely already fallen victim to their Curse technique. Only she and Qi remained. She could endure anything herself, but Qi was still young; she could not die yet. Moreover, Qi was the heir to their clan leader. No matter what happened, she had to protect Qi!
The Sorcerer across from them laughed heartily. "Hahaha! What’s wrong? Are you scared? Let me tell you: if you obediently become my slaves, I’ll spare your lives! As for that man—just kill him!"
Sixth Sister and Fourth Sister wept bitterly; one slightly older girl wiped her tears and said firmly, "Sister, let’s not cry! Even if we die, we’ll take one down with us to avenge our fallen sisters!"
Bai Zhuo finished vomiting but still felt nauseous inside. Looking at these girls who maintained their composure despite their sorrow, he secretly admired their strong spirits.
"Sister, I'll go ahead!"
Qi cried out, "Sister!"
The older Miaojiang Girl charged toward the three Sorcerers with a determined look in her eyes. The leading Sorcerer shouted fiercely, "In your Chinese: You don't drink when offered, so you seek death! Nava, take her head!"
Before Fourth Sister could cast her Witchcraft, there was a sharp sound as her head was violently severed from her neck. Her body instinctively ran forward for several meters, while her beautiful head rolled on the ground, still filled with unwillingness.
Bai Zhuo observed closely and noticed that the Sorcerer named Nava was holding a scarecrow that had been separated into head and body. He shouted, "Take the scarecrow from their hands!"
Zhu Man reacted quickly, "Qing! Bite their hands!"
Meanwhile, Sixth Sister, who stood beside Bai Zhuo, had just ignited a glimmer of hope. She looked at the Sorcerer across from them with a fierce expression as he forcefully tore another scarecrow in half. Sixth Sister turned to Bai Zhuo, her eyes filled with a desperate longing. But…
With a sudden "thud," this Miaojiang Girl seemed to be cleaved in two, warm and foul-smelling blood raining down on Bai Zhuo. He trembled all over; that night he had witnessed four deaths, each more tragic than the last. He shivered and retched; despite having faced death multiple times before, he felt fear.
Qi cried incessantly, while Zhu Man let out a piercing scream. She threw a handful of colorful powder at the Sorcerers and shouted, "Qing, spray their eyes!"
The green snake hid in the shadows, sensing its master's emotions and hissed angrily. It opened its mouth to reveal its fangs, shooting two streams of venom straight at them. The Sorcerers were merely mortals like anyone else; they were adept at dealing with ghosts and casting spells but were no match for creatures like snakes. Their movements were likely not as agile as Bai Zhuo's. The venom shot out quickly; Nava was focused on the powder Zhu Man had thrown when he realized too late what was coming.
The venom struck his eyes, causing him to scream in pain as he covered his face and ran around wildly. But this only hastened his demise; the colorful powder entered his mouth and nostrils. Within moments, his stomach swelled up, followed by his limbs; he looked like a bloated man. Finally, even his head swelled to resemble that of a pig, obscuring his features.
Nava wailed pitifully as his body grew larger and larger until it resembled an inflated balloon. Finally, with a loud bang, Nava's body exploded into pieces, flesh scattering everywhere—hardly any part remained intact, shocking those who witnessed it.
Bai Zhuo could no longer hold back; he retched repeatedly.
"Nava! Damn it!" cursed the leading Sorcerer. He pressed his palms together and formed several strange hand seals while muttering incomprehensible words before sitting down on the ground.
Zhu Man yelled at Bai Zhuo, "Flying Head Sorcery? This is bad! Brother Bai, hurry and take Qi away from here!"
Bai Zhuo had long harbored thoughts of retreat; he was eager to leave with Yang Liu upstairs along with Qi.
"No! Sister, let's go together!" Qi shouted.
"Miao Xiaoqi! Listen to me!"
"But..."
"Qi! Listen to Sister, survive and go back to tell Grandma. She will take revenge for us!" Zhu Man looked at Bai Zhuo. "Flying Head Sorcery is one of the most powerful dark arts in Nanyang. We can't handle it alone, so we need to run, towards a crowded place. Brother Bai, I leave Sister Qi to you! Our Soul Sealing Bags are with Qi. Once you are safe, you must hand the Soul Sealing Bag over to Brother Bai. Hurry!"
Bai Zhuo nodded in understanding. "I'll keep Qi safe. Wait for me a moment; I need to go upstairs to get someone!"
...
Zheng Ming and Kagura Keiha were locked in a fierce battle with Zhu Cong and others when Bai Zhuo maneuvered around them and dashed upstairs, calling for Yang Liu as she pulled her outside.
Yang Liu looked confused. "What’s going on, Bai Zhuo?"
"Someone's been killed. If you see something later, don’t be scared; just keep running!"
"Huh? Someone's been killed? Have the police been called?" Yang Liu was genuinely alarmed.
Bai Zhuo shook her head. "With the Yin Yang Realm involved, the police won’t be much help. We need to run first."
Just as they reached the ground floor, a delicate yet bloodied body flew towards them—it was Zhu Man! Qi screamed, "Sister!"
Zhu Man crashed heavily onto the ground, coughing up several clots of blood as she struggled to stand.
Yang Liu gasped and rushed forward to help her up.
Zhu Man raised her hand to stop her. "Girl, don’t come over! I’m poisoned all over; I can handle this myself!" She forced herself up and cursed in their local dialect before charging forward. It seemed another person had fallen on the opposing side of the Sorcerer—a life that Zhu Man had traded half her own for. Now she was entangled with that strange flying head, locked in a desperate struggle. The head was large and moved swiftly through the air; Zhu Man couldn't touch it at all and was knocked away, rolling several times on the ground.
Though Zhu Man was at her limit, she still stubbornly stood up and charged again.
Bai Zhuo fell silent. A girl could possess such a strong heart; could it be that I, Bai Zhuo, am inferior to a woman? After experiencing the brink of death three times, am I still afraid of dying? What am I afraid of? Am I just avoiding it... Why should I avoid it? The path I chose must be walked to the end, even if it’s filled with tears; otherwise, how can I face my parents? My sister? And my grandfather?
If I’m not afraid of the Millennium Ghost, why should I fear these things in front of me? What am I scared of? It’s just a human head! Damn it!
With a loud slap, Bai Zhuo struck himself across the face, instantly awakening him and bringing about a profound realization.
“Damn that Nanyang sorcery! Damn that Flying Head Sorcery! Those who are warriors shall advance together; soldiers, battle tactics, Supreme True Lord, Urgent Command!” Under Yang Liu's astonished gaze, Bai Zhuo formed several Hand Seals. The red light of the Curse Seal on the tip of his Peach Wood Sword flashed as he charged toward the strange flying head, his agile figure swiftly leaping over Zhu Man!
Zhu Man's eyes brightened as she shared a connection with the Green Serpent. With a swift motion, the Green Serpent darted into Bai Zhuo's clothing without him even noticing.
“Alpaca! How could you lay hands on such adorable girls! You’re worse than beasts, you bastards! Go die!” Under the streetlight, Bai Zhuo was covered in blood—blood from that Miaojiang Girl. His face was twisted in rage, resembling a demon. Anyone who recognized him would surely be terrified by his expression.
The strange flying head glared menacingly, and to everyone's shock, it spat out a blood arrow!
However, Bai Zhuo's gaze was sharp; he managed to slice through the incoming blood arrow with his Peach Wood Sword. The sword pointed directly at the floating human head! But this eerie head let out a sinister laugh; when the Peach Wood Sword struck its forehead, it produced a sound like steel clashing. Bai Zhuo staggered back several steps, feeling an immense force reverberate through his hand as if it might break.
Zhu Man shouted from behind, “Brother Bai, go around it and attack its body!”
Bai Zhuo looked ahead and saw that the Sorcerer's headless body was sitting motionless under a tree in the distance.
“Good! Weakness found! Time for you to die!” Bai Zhuo cursed and charged forward again.
The head had no throat yet could still speak: “Hehehe... Do you think your speed can surpass mine?”
“You fool! Phantom Sparrow! Blindness!”
Bai Zhuo summoned Phantom Sparrow from behind. She lazily emerged and yawned: “Ugh, try to handle things yourself whenever possible, okay?”
“Hey, are you kidding me... Who’s the servant here, you or me?”
Phantom Sparrow was a ghost but seemed quite adept at illusions. She stretched out her arms and glared at the human head. The head roared as if possessed: “Ah! My eyes~ My eyes! My Flying Head Sorcery is invulnerable to fire and water; how could it possibly harm me! Impossible!”
Now! Bai Zhuo maneuvered around the head and dashed towards the body beneath the tree. Although the head couldn't see anything for the time being, its ears were still functional, and its lifeline was tied to that body. How could it not feel anxious? The head followed Bai Zhuo's footsteps, ready to spit out a blood arrow!
"Don't even think about it!" Zhu Man used her last ounce of strength to grab the head and slam it down onto the ground!
The head struggled violently. "You filthy whore! Let go of me, or I’ll make sure you suffer!" As soon as the words left its mouth, it sank its steel teeth into Zhu Man's delicate neck, tearing a large gash!
Zhu Man's throat was severely injured. Reflexively, she released the head and clutched her neck, gasping in pain. Blood bubbled up from the gaping wound in her throat.
Phantom Sparrow's illusion wouldn't hold against this Sorcerer for long. The head regained its freedom just as Bai Zhuo was about to reach the Sorcerer's body. In a moment of desperation, it spat out another blood arrow, striking Bai Zhuo in the leg!
Bai Zhuo's leg was injured, causing him to lose his balance and crash to the ground with a thud, just three steps away from the body!
"Alpaca!" Bai Zhuo cursed loudly and with all his might hurled the Peach Wood Sword! "Thud!" The Peach Wood Sword struck the body but unfortunately missed its target, only piercing the Sorcerer's thigh while the head remained active in mid-air.
The head let out a furious roar and flew towards Bai Zhuo, ready to tear him apart!
However, Zhu Man croaked hoarsely and shouted, "Green—!"
The green snake slithered swiftly from Bai Zhuo's hand. In a flash of green light, its head struck the neck of that body…
