Horror Chapter
Wang Chao slowly moved closer to Blood Man, kicking him a few times. When he saw that Blood Man remained motionless on the ground, he whispered to Jiang Liu, "Could he be dead?"
"That shouldn't be possible. I just tripped him; there's no way he could die from that."
Jiang Liu couldn't believe that Blood Man would die so easily. After all, just moments ago, he had kicked a severed head like a soccer ball right at Blood Man's face and hadn't seen any significant reaction. Everyone knew how hard a human skull was; even now, his foot still throbbed from the impact. A simple trip shouldn't have caused any serious harm.
Wang Chao kicked Blood Man a few more times with more force, but he still didn't move. Feeling emboldened, he crouched down and reached out to touch Blood Man.
"Be careful," Jiang Liu warned from the side.
Wang Chao replied, "Don't worry; he probably just knocked himself out."
He grabbed one of Blood Man's arms and flipped him over. As Blood Man turned from face-down to face-up, they both saw a pair of scissors lodged deep in his mouth, most of the blade buried inside, leaving only a short handle wrapped in black leather sticking out.
It was then that they understood why Blood Man lay still on the ground—he had killed himself with his own scissors. Wang Chao looked into Blood Man's unblinking eyes and clicked his tongue. "What a pathetic way to die."
Seeing Blood Man's unfortunate demise, Jiang Liu felt incredulous. How did the scissors end up in Blood Man's mouth like that? It seemed too unlucky.
Before he could ponder further, Wang Chao suddenly exclaimed, "Oh no! That guy is gone!"
Jiang Liu quickly looked up and realized that Lin Feng was nowhere to be seen in the corridor. He must have slipped away while they were examining Blood Man. Wang Chao turned to Jiang Liu and asked, "What should we do?"
Although Lin Feng wasn't an Escaper, Jiang Liu couldn't ignore his fate in this situation. After all, they were roommates. Without even having time to figure out who Blood Man was, he gritted his teeth and said to Wang Chao, "Let's chase after him! The situation is complicated; having another person with us means more strength."
They left behind Blood Man's corpse and ran downstairs.
Lin Feng usually appeared quite frail and seemed to lack stamina. However, they ran out of the teaching building without catching sight of him at all; it was unclear where he had gone. Wang Chao looked around the empty area, panting heavily. "Damn it! That guy runs pretty fast; it's only been a short time and he's already vanished. How are we supposed to find him in this huge school?"
Jiang Liu pinched the bridge of his nose in frustration; he had no idea where to search for Lin Feng either. As Wang Chao had pointed out, H University was vast, and if someone ran around aimlessly without a destination, there was little chance they could find Lin Feng.
At the very beginning, Jiang Liu made a mistake. He subconsciously thought that Lin Feng, like him and Wang Chao, had a strong tolerance for bloody scenes. However, after witnessing the gruesome sight in the classroom and then seeing the terrifying head roll in front of him, Lin Feng's mental state collapsed under the pressure.
After thinking for a moment, Jiang Liu suddenly asked Wang Chao, "If you were running around aimlessly, where would you go?"
Wang Chao pondered the question and replied, "I would definitely run to a place that gives me a sense of security. It's human instinct to protect oneself."
Upon hearing this, Jiang Liu's eyes lit up. "I know where Lin Feng went."
Wang Chao was taken aback, as if he hadn't heard Jiang Liu clearly. "What?"
Without time to explain further, Jiang Liu simply said, "Follow me."
Wang Chao followed Jiang Liu in a daze as they ran in a certain direction. After finally catching up with Jiang Liu, he asked while running, "Where are we going?"
Jiang Liu replied while still running, "To the dormitory. If I'm not mistaken, Lin Feng should head back to the dorm."
"Are you sure?"
"Not really," Jiang Liu answered. "But if it were me, I would run to the dorm."
Hearing this, Wang Chao cursed Jiang Liu internally for such an unreliable guess. However, seeing that they were about to reach the dormitory, he had no choice but to continue running forward.
When they arrived in front of the dormitory building, Wang Chao intended to rush inside but was pulled back by Jiang Liu, who said firmly, "Wait."
Wang Chao stopped and gasped for breath as he looked at Jiang Liu in confusion, unsure why he was being held back. He noticed that Jiang Liu's brow was furrowed and his expression grim as he stared at the seven-story dormitory building ahead. Curious about Jiang Liu's reaction, Wang Chao looked up at the building—and his breath caught in his throat for several seconds.
On the top floor of the dormitory—the seventh floor—there hung seven or eight bodies lined up side by side, each one quietly suspended in front of a window.
The bodies appeared intact; perhaps due to their height, the two couldn't see their faces clearly. However, judging by the clothing they wore, Jiang Liu suspected these bodies might belong to other classmates from their class.
After a moment of silence, Wang Chao swallowed hard and exclaimed, "What the hell is going on?"
Jiang Liu stared intently at the corpses and replied, "I don't know, but I have a feeling there might be danger in the dormitory."
It was obvious to anyone witnessing this scene that there was danger in the dormitory building. After thinking for a moment, he asked, "Should we still go in?"
In truth, after seeing this scene, Wang Chao felt a bit hesitant. He wasn't afraid of danger, but that didn't mean he wanted to court death. Neither of them knew what had happened inside the dormitory, and given the circumstances, entering could lead to significant life-threatening risks.
Jiang Liu furrowed his brow as he looked at the bizarre sight, weighing whether they should risk their lives to go in. Just as he was indecisive, he suddenly noticed a shadow standing in front of the window beneath the third corpse on the left. The next moment, that shadow leaned forward and fell directly out of the window. As Jiang Liu was about to pull Wang Chao back to avoid being hit by the falling figure, he saw that after tumbling out of the window, the shadow hung there just like the corpses above.
Wang Chao's eyes widened as he saw the figure fall; he noticed a dark shape flash past the window. He exclaimed, pointing at it, "Someone's there!"
Jiang Liu quickly looked over but saw nothing except for the darkened window. He hurriedly asked, "Where?"
"Right in front of the window where the corpses appeared," Wang Chao whispered. "What should we do? Should we go in and check it out?"
After considering it for a moment, Jiang Liu replied, "We need to go in; we must find out what happened."
Wang Chao didn't object. He turned to look around and noticed a few bricks piled up in a grassy area. He grabbed two and handed one to Jiang Liu. "Keep this for self-defense."
Jiang Liu accepted it without hesitation. Thinking about the Blood Man who had attacked them earlier in the teaching building, he felt more secure with a weapon in hand. He nodded after testing the weight of the brick and indicated that they should go inside.
