The next morning, Jiang Liu sat quietly in the classroom, just like the previous days. Teacher Mei was still at the podium, delivering her lecture, while the students listened attentively. 0

It was as if the terrifying scene that had unfolded in the classroom yesterday had never happened, and indeed, it seemed that way. 0

During class that morning, Jiang Liu had asked his classmates about the specifics of the incident from the previous day. It wasn't that he didn't believe Wang Chao; he simply wanted to understand what had occurred. 0

However, the responses he received sent chills down his spine. His classmates all told him in unison that nothing had happened in the classroom, let alone someone mysteriously dying. It was as if a mysterious force had erased these supernatural events from their memories. 0

This sudden change plunged Jiang Liu into despair. When he relayed this situation to Wang Chao, Wang Chao looked equally bewildered and couldn't believe Jiang Liu's words. But after verifying the facts, he had no choice but to confront reality; everything seemed to have returned to normal. 0

One, two, three... twenty-eight. There were indeed two fewer people—no, to be precise, three. This confirmed that his memory was not faulty. 0

Jiang Liu counted the number of students in the class, trying to find a clue in the numbers. However, after counting for a while, he still found nothing amiss. Just then, he felt his phone vibrate and pulled it out to see a message from Wang Chao. 0

[The number of people in class hasn’t changed; it seems something unknown happened last night.] 0

[Indeed, everyone’s memories seem intact until this morning when they suddenly forgot what happened before. What do you think?] 0

Jiang Liu had just finished replying when Wang Chao responded shortly after. 0

[Library] 0

Jiang Liu looked at those three short words and furrowed his brow in thought before starting to reply. 0

[But the situation has changed; I’m afraid something unexpected might happen in the library now.] 0

[Things have already changed; if we don’t act soon, we might miss our best opportunity.] 0

After reading this message, Jiang Liu stopped responding. Wang Chao's words made a lot of sense; this sudden change posed a danger for both of them who were just beginning to grasp the rules. If they didn’t take action soon, given that an event had already undergone its first transformation, it was possible that their memories would also be erased by some mysterious force. Such an occurrence had already happened when the first person disappeared, so now Jiang Liu could no longer be certain of anything. 0

After thinking for a moment, Jiang Liu said to Wang Chao, "I'll go out first, you follow me later. Let's head to the resource room." 0

After waiting for a while, Wang Chao did not reply, which seemed to indicate his agreement. 0

Teacher Mei, who was lecturing at the podium, noticed a student raising their hand and asked, "What's the matter?" 0

"Teacher, I need to step out for a bit." 0

Teacher Mei was understanding and didn't press Jiang Liu on what he needed to do, simply nodding in acknowledgment. Once outside the classroom, Jiang Liu didn't worry about how Wang Chao would manage to get out; he just waited around a corner for him. 0

Before long, Wang Chao emerged from the classroom as well. Judging by his relaxed expression, it seemed Teacher Mei hadn't questioned him too much either. 0

As they walked towards the exit of the building, Wang Chao asked Jiang Liu, "We're out now, but it seems we don't know where the resource room is?" 0

Jiang Liu smiled slightly and raised his phone. "No, I already found out. I asked someone else." 0

Wang Chao was surprised for a moment but didn’t ask who Jiang Liu had spoken to; as long as he knew where the resource room was, that was enough. 0

Following behind Jiang Liu, Wang Chao noticed that they were heading to a rather secluded area. They eventually stopped in front of a rusted iron door that emitted a foul odor. Wang Chao frowned at the dilapidated door and said, "Is this really the resource room? Why is it so rundown?" 0

"Yes, if the information is correct, this is indeed the school's resource room. But looking at it like this, it seems no one has come here to clean for quite some time." 0

The doorknob was wrapped in a chain with a padlock attached. From its appearance, it was clear that the lock had rusted shut; yellow rust covered the entire padlock. Jiang Liu stubbornly tugged at it but found it impossible to open and cursed under his breath. 0

Wang Chao noticed that the lock wouldn't budge either. He stepped up beside Jiang Liu and said, "Step aside; let me show you what I can do." 0

Out of nowhere, he produced a slender piece of wire and crouched down to examine the rusted lock. He twisted the wire into an oval shape and inserted it into the keyhole. After a few twists and turns, Jiang Liu heard a click. To his astonishment, Wang Chao pulled down on the padlock and managed to unlock it. 0

Jiang Liu looked at Wang Chao in disbelief until he finally spoke up after Wang Chao removed the lock. "You have this skill too?" 0

Seeing Jiang Liu's astonished expression, Wang Chao put the wire back into his pocket with a smile. "When you're out in the world, having an extra skill never hurts. Alright, now that the door is open, let's go inside." 0

Jiang Liu watched as the iron door was pushed open and retracted his surprised expression, preparing to enter the archive room. 0

The moment the door to the archive room opened, a musty smell rushed out. The pungent odor made both Jiang Liu and Wang Chao instinctively pinch their noses. They waited until the smell had dissipated somewhat before stepping inside. 0

The archive room was dimly lit, so the two had no choice but to take out their phones and turn on the flashlight function as they made their way in. 0

Perhaps due to having experienced such scenes before, Jiang Liu wasn't particularly frightened. He used the light from his phone to begin observing his surroundings. 0

The archive room wasn't very large, about eighty square meters, but it was filled with shelves stacked with documents. Wang Chao, still pinching his nose, muttered, "Where should we start looking? With so much material here, it could take us a week just to go through it all from the beginning." 0

Jiang Liu thought for a moment and replied, "Let's start with the most recent records. The old man mentioned that ever since that girl died in the classroom, something seems to have happened every year. If what he said is credible, it means this isn't just an issue for our class; previous classes must have experienced something similar." 0

"That makes sense." 0

After Wang Chao agreed, the two began searching separately. Jiang Liu looked at the dates marked on the shelves and decided to start from three years ago. Instead of going through all the materials from those three years, he directly sought out documents labeled with the number 000. 0

In his view, the expressions of the previous School Leadership and Teacher Mei indicated that the school was aware of what had happened in Classroom 000. Since someone knew about it, there had to be records. 0

Time passed gradually as they continued their search. 0
