Horror Chapter
In the moment his body fell backward, Jiang Liu thought something had happened behind him, and a wave of panic surged within him. But just then, someone caught him, and a voice sounded from behind.
As Jiang Liu recognized the familiar voice, he turned around to see that it was indeed Wang Chao who had steadied him. Jiang Liu felt a bit puzzled seeing Wang Chao suddenly appear here; hadn’t he asked him to stay in the classroom and watch over the other students? How did he end up here?
However, before he could dwell on this thought, Wang Chao interrupted with a question.
“Hey, Jiang Liu, what’s wrong? Did something happen?”
Hearing Wang Chao’s inquiry reminded Jiang Liu of something important, and he quickly turned back to look inside the room. In that instant, he was shocked to find that the bloody scene had vanished, replaced by the clean surroundings he had first encountered upon arriving.
Wang Chao noticed Jiang Liu staring blankly at the room and asked in confusion, “Did something happen inside?”
Jiang Liu waved his hand to indicate that it wasn’t the right time to talk and urged Wang Chao to help him walk back. His legs felt weak and shaky from the earlier fright.
As they walked away from the cabin and it disappeared from view, Wang Chao couldn’t hold back any longer and anxiously asked Jiang Liu, “What’s going on? Did you see something in there?”
Jiang Liu’s face was pale, his voice trembling slightly as he replied, “I’m not sure what’s happening either, but I can definitely say that this supernatural event is suspicious.”
“Then tell me what you saw in there.”
Jiang Liu waved his hand again, indicating that he didn’t have the strength to talk. Seeing Jiang Liu like this, Wang Chao guessed that he must have witnessed something unbelievable inside; otherwise, it wouldn’t make sense for someone who had experienced several supernatural events to be so shaken. So he suppressed his curiosity and continued to support Jiang Liu as they headed back.
After walking for five or six minutes, Jiang Liu realized that the path Wang Chao was taking wasn’t leading them back to the classroom. Confused, he asked, “Aren’t we going back to the classroom? Why are we heading toward the dormitory?”
Upon hearing Jiang Liu’s question, Wang Chao sighed and shook his head. “Forget it; something else happened in the classroom.”
Jiang Liu’s heart sank at this revelation, and he quickly asked, “What happened? Did someone die in the classroom again?”
Wang Chao nodded and said, "That's right. It's also thanks to you not being in the classroom. Whenever I think back to what happened there, my stomach still feels a bit uneasy."
Jiang Liu urged Wang Chao to stop being cryptic and just explain what was going on. Wang Chao decided not to drag it out any longer and began to recount the events.
Not long after Jiang Liu left, Wang Chao started observing each classmate in the classroom seriously. After about ten minutes passed, he noticed that no one seemed to be leaving.
At that moment, he glanced at the clock and saw that there were still a few minutes until class ended. He figured Jiang Liu would be back soon, so he relaxed a bit. However, just as he let his guard down, an incident occurred.
A girl sitting in the front row suddenly stood up during Teacher Mei's lecture, her head bowed low.
Since the girl had long hair that was let down, when she stood up, Wang Chao experienced a moment of illusion; for an instant, he even thought she looked like a ghost.
The sudden movement disrupted Teacher Mei's lesson. She looked puzzled and asked, "Is there something wrong, student?"
The girl remained silent, still staring at the floor beneath her feet.
The other classmates around her sensed something was off and moved away from her, their eyes filled with fear as they watched the girl who had suddenly stood up.
At this point, Wang Chao felt that something was wrong. He focused intently on the girl while also observing the expressions of his classmates. To his disappointment, everyone else in the class wore fearful expressions; nothing seemed particularly unusual.
Seeing that the girl wasn't responding, Teacher Mei felt that something was amiss as well. She stepped down from the podium and approached the girl. Just as she was about to lift the girl's hair away from her face, the girl suddenly raised her head.
Whatever Teacher Mei saw caused her expression to shift dramatically to one of sheer terror. She stumbled backward as if she had witnessed something horrifying.
Immediately after raising her head, the girl stood upright and motionless. After a short while, Wang Chao, who had been closely watching her, sensed something was wrong because he noticed that the girl's height seemed to have increased slightly and was still growing.
Suddenly, a terrifying thought flashed through Wang Chao's mind. Just as this idea surfaced, he witnessed a change in the girl not far away; her height surged dramatically by several centimeters.
No, rather than the girl suddenly growing taller, it was more like her neck had inexplicably elongated by several centimeters.
Then, in the incredulous gaze of her classmates, the girl's head suddenly flew off, propelled by a blood-red object that shot towards the classroom's Flower Panel. Blood erupted from the severed neck like a fountain, splattering several meters high. Wang Chao found this scene to possess an eerie beauty.
A few seconds after her head left her body, the headless corpse collapsed to the ground.
The classroom descended into chaos due to this sudden event, with all the students frantically rushing towards the exit. A few girls fainted at the sight of the gruesome scene.
After all, just yesterday there had been a suicide, and some of the other girls hadn’t witnessed that bloody scene. But now it was different; this bloody spectacle was laid bare before everyone’s eyes, causing some girls to faint from sheer shock.
Although Wang Chao was no stranger to bloody scenes, seeing such a graphic display suddenly unfold before him made his stomach churn uncomfortably, though he managed to suppress it.
He forced himself to calm down and began searching for the girl’s head that had flown away. Based on what he had just seen, her head should be above on the Flower Panel. He looked up but couldn’t find it.
At that moment of not seeing her head, a sinking feeling washed over Wang Chao—a bad premonition enveloped him.
He hurriedly scanned the area, trying to locate the suddenly vanished head. After looking around, he still couldn’t find it and felt puzzled: How strange; where could her head have gone?
Just then, Wang Chao felt a chill on his left ear as if something wet had dripped beside him.
