"How many students do you think are in our class?" 0

Wang Chao did not immediately answer Jiang Liu; instead, he posed a question back to him. 0

"Thirty," Jiang Liu replied. As soon as the number left his lips, he recalled that he had asked Lin Feng the same question that morning. He quickly sensed something was off and corrected himself, "No, that's not right. If that were the case, you wouldn't be asking me this question." 0

"Exactly." Wang Chao clapped his hands together and said, "You're quick on the uptake. Indeed, there weren't just thirty students in our class at the beginning! There were thirty-one!" 0

"Impossible! What evidence do you have?" Jiang Liu stared into Wang Chao's eyes, trying to detect any signs of deceit, but Wang Chao faced him with complete composure. 0

"Of course I have evidence." Wang Chao's tone turned somewhat bitter. "If I didn't have this evidence, I wouldn't be able to confirm that we are currently involved in a supernatural event." 0

"What evidence?" 0

"My diary, my personal diary." Wang Chao looked at Jiang Liu. "I have a habit of writing in my diary every night before bed. It doesn't matter what the content is; I write down anything I can. Just a few days ago, while writing, I found an entry stating that there were thirty-one students in Classroom 000 at the start. However, Teacher Mei confirmed yesterday morning that there are only thirty students in our class. Do you understand what this means?" 0

Memory has been altered! 0

This terrifying thought screamed in Jiang Liu's mind as he looked pale at Wang Chao. "Isn't it only ordinary people who aren't involved in supernatural events whose memories get altered? Why would our memories be tampered with?" 0

"I don't know." Wang Chao shook his head with a wry smile. "If it weren't for this discovery, I wouldn't have come to find you so quickly." 0

"I still don't believe it. I need to see your diary," Jiang Liu said, making one last desperate attempt. 0

"I don't have it with me right now, but I'll give it to you tomorrow morning before class." 0

Wang Chao did not refuse due to his privacy concerns. For him, every diary entry was merely a record of his observations and experiences, without any other personal secrets, so he readily accepted Jiang Liu's request. 0

"What are your thoughts?" Wang Chao asked. "Or do you think this supernatural incident is related to something specific?" 0

"I don't know," Jiang Liu shook his head. "If what you said is true, then there are too few clues right now to speculate on anything else." 0

"That's true," Wang Chao nodded in agreement with Jiang Liu's reasoning, then asked, "I've been waiting for you here for a long time. Where were you just now?" 0

"I went to look for the place Xu Ya visited yesterday," Jiang Liu did not hide anything from Wang Chao and shared everything he had done earlier. 0

After listening, Wang Chao pondered, "Do you think there's something wrong with Xu Ya?" 0

"I don't know, but I asked others, and they all still remember Xu Ya. This contradicts your earlier discovery, or perhaps Xu Ya simply didn't come to class." 0

At this point, Jiang Liu recalled that when he inquired about Xu Ya's whereabouts with Teacher Mei, her expression turned quite grim. Teacher Mei must know something! Unfortunately, she was unwilling to share. 0

"That's a possibility. Tomorrow we'll see if Xu Ya comes to class." 0

"Do you have anything else to do?" Jiang Liu asked. "If not, I need to head back; the dormitory will be locked soon." 0

Wang Chao glanced at his phone and realized it was almost curfew time. He waved goodbye to Jiang Liu and exchanged phone numbers with him. "If I find out anything else, I'll give you a call." 0

"Same here. See you tomorrow." 0

“Tomorrow.” 0

Watching Wang Chao walk away, Jiang Liu pressed his palm tightly against his skin, his nails digging into flesh without him feeling a thing. After a long silence, he finally took a step towards the dormitory building. 0

In the early morning, Jiang Liu woke up once again from a nightmare. Looking at the sunlight streaming through the window, he felt a slight warmth, and his racing heartbeat gradually calmed down. 0

How many times had this been? It seemed that ever since the explanation of the last supernatural event, Jiang Liu had been plagued by nightmares every night. In his dreams, he wandered through darkness until he saw a glimmer of light. 0

As he approached the light, he would hear two people conversing, but just as he began to catch their words, he would feel the ground beneath him give way, and then he would fall. 0

Every night it was the same nightmare, leaving him in a state of extreme fatigue with faint dark circles appearing under his eyes. 0

Once his mind cleared, he recalled the conversation with Wang Chao from yesterday, and an unsettling feeling surged from deep within him. 0

After that, he went about his routine as usual. Once everything was ready, he headed towards the eerie Classroom 000. 0

Since there was still time before class started, only a few students were in Classroom 000, chatting amongst themselves. 0

After surveying the room and noticing that Wang Chao had not yet arrived, Jiang Liu quietly took his seat. 0

It wasn't until the class bell rang that more students began to enter the classroom. Among them was Wang Chao, who walked in and placed a black-covered notebook on Jiang Liu's desk as he passed by. 0

“This is my diary. Don’t worry; I didn’t stay up all night writing it. You can ask the others in my dorm,” Wang Chao said before returning to his own seat. 0

Teacher Mei, as usual, began by taking attendance, but this time she did not call Xu Ya's name. Jiang Liu turned to Wang Chao and noticed he looked just as surprised, so he asked Lin Feng beside him, "Lin Feng, do you remember Xu Ya?" 0

"I remember. What's up?" Lin Feng replied. 0

"Nothing." 0

Xu Ya had not vanished from the memories of others, but Teacher Mei's omission was telling; she must know something. However, judging by her demeanor, it seemed unlikely that it was anything good. 0

After taking a deep breath, Jiang Liu shifted his focus to the black notebook on the desk. He stopped paying attention to Teacher Mei's lecture and slowly opened the diary to start reading. 0

The black notebook was about the thickness of a coin, with a few words or sentences written on each page. Jiang Liu casually flipped through it and noticed that more than half of the pages were filled with content. It seemed Wang Chao indeed had a habit of keeping a diary. 0

Not interested in the earlier entries, he flipped straight to the last few pages. 0

The entries were simple, mostly just a few sentences. However, Jiang Liu noticed that at the beginning of the school year, Wang Chao's writing was rather casual, merely describing daily events. But as he progressed through the pages, some strange phrases began to appear; it seemed Wang Chao had started to notice something was off around him. 0

Sure enough, in the later entries, he discovered that Wang Chao had noted there were thirty-one students in their class. But during the second entry, he found only thirty students present. The subsequent entries showed Wang Chao began to observe and record details about each student's seat and appearance. It appeared that this was when things started to feel wrong for him. 0

Just as Jiang Liu was engrossed in reading the diary, some noises emerged from within the classroom. 0
