On his way back to the dormitory, Jiang Liu kept replaying the events of the past few days in his mind, hoping to find some answers. However, after much contemplation, he realized that aside from his feelings, he couldn't identify anything else that seemed off. Lost in thought, he suddenly noticed a figure standing on the path leading to his dorm. 0

He halted in his tracks, staring at the figure about ten meters away with a sense of confusion. He recognized who it was; it was another student from his class! 0

The student saw Jiang Liu standing still and began walking toward him. Jiang Liu's nerves tightened as he watched his classmate approach. 0

"Hello, classmate. My name is Wang Chao. I'm in the same class as you." 0

Wang Chao stopped about two meters away from Jiang Liu and introduced himself. 0

"Yes, I know. I'm Jiang Liu," Jiang Liu replied politely. 0

After they exchanged names, an unspoken agreement settled between them to remain silent. After a moment, Jiang Liu couldn't hold back any longer and asked, "Wang Chao, did you need something from me?" 0

"It's not a big deal. I just noticed you asking Teacher Mei about Xu Ya's whereabouts after class and inquiring with other classmates about her too, so I thought I'd come over and ask you." 0

[Could he be Xu Ya's boyfriend? Is he here to warn me about my inquiries regarding Xu Ya?] 0

Jiang Liu found himself both amused and bewildered by the thought. It seemed his innocent curiosity had led others to misunderstand him. He quickly explained to Wang Chao, "Please don't get me wrong; I simply wanted to know where Xu Ya was last night and why she hasn't come today. I have no other intentions regarding Xu Ya." 0

Upon hearing Jiang Liu's explanation, Wang Chao revealed a smile that suggested he didn't quite understand: "You misunderstood my purpose for coming here. I'm not here about Xu Ya; I came to see you." 0

"Wang Chao, what do you mean by that?" 0

Wang Chao slowly uttered a few words, keeping an eye on Jiang Liu's expression. 0

"Escaper." 0

As he expected, Jiang Liu's face changed upon hearing Wang Chao's words, looking at him in surprise. 0

"Sure enough, you are also an Escaper." 0

Seeing Jiang Liu's reaction, Wang Chao visibly relaxed. Just moments ago, when he mentioned those three key terms, his heart had raced with anxiety, fearing that the boy in front of him wouldn’t understand or wouldn’t know what he was talking about. If that were the case, his attempt to approach Jiang Liu would have been a complete joke. 0

Upon realizing that Wang Chao was an Escaper like himself, Jiang Liu was initially taken aback, but then his expression turned grim. In the previous supernatural incidents, he had never encountered other Escapers before the missions began. However, this time was different, and it made him think. 0

What does he want from me? Has a supernatural event occurred? 0

"Did you come to see me for something?" Jiang Liu asked. 0

"I believe you've noticed that something seems off around us lately, but you just can’t put your finger on it." 0

Just as I thought! My instincts were right! 0

Seeing that Jiang Liu had no response, Wang Chao continued, "After sensing this feeling, I started paying attention to everyone's behavior in class and finally discovered you today!" 0

With that, Wang Chao smiled at Jiang Liu. "Everyone else in the class seems oblivious to the strange occurrences around them, including Xu Ya who didn’t come to class today. Only you have been acting a bit odd. So I guessed that you might be like me—a member of the Escapers involved in these supernatural events. That’s why I waited here to confirm my suspicions." 0

"Your observation is sharp," Jiang Liu remarked. 0

"I have no choice. In a hell like this, one must always pay attention to everything around them to survive. Only then can one live cautiously." 0

"Then why did you come to find me today?" Jiang Liu asked. 0

"I need a partner!" Wang Chao looked at Jiang Liu and said, "I suspect we are likely caught up in a supernatural event!" 0

"I don't believe it! I haven't received any mission announcement!" Jiang Liu was skeptical of this guess. 0

"I haven't received any mission announcement either," Wang Chao replied helplessly. "But I've felt uneasy for the past few days, as if something is about to happen. That's why I came to see you, hoping to find some clues." 0

"Nothing. Like you, I just feel that something is off around us, but I haven't discovered anything." 0

"This is troublesome. It seems this supernatural event is quite complicated." 0

Wang Chao appeared somewhat agitated; it was his first encounter with a supernatural event that had no hints or clues. The only indication that something was wrong came from the vague intuition shared by the two of them. 0

"Um, Wang," 0

"Just call me Wang Chao." 0

"Alright, Wang Chao, why do you think we might be in the midst of a supernatural event?" Jiang Liu asked. 0

"Did you not notice?" This time, Wang Chao seemed a bit surprised. 0

"Notice what?" 0

"Our Classroom 000 is very different from the other classrooms." 0

"What do you mean?" 0

"The sense of presence!" Wang Chao shared his observations with Jiang Liu. "Ever since I had a gut feeling that something was off, I started paying attention to our Classroom 000. I asked students from other classes, and while they knew about the existence of Classroom 000, not a single one of them knew where it was! Later, I conducted an experiment. I brought some classmates to our classroom, but there would always be some unexpected incidents along the way." 0

"What kind of incidents?" 0

"For example, someone suddenly getting a phone call and leaving, or needing to go to the restroom, and so on. In short, students from other classes never make it to our classroom; they always get sidetracked by other things." 0

Wang Chao's explanation made Jiang Liu recall his own conversations with others in the dormitory. He realized that no matter what he said, aside from Lin Feng, who was in the same classroom, the other two would forget almost instantly. Moreover, he now noticed that since the beginning of the semester, he hadn't seen any other students passing by their classroom. Even during physical education class, it was just their class attending, as if they were isolated from the entire school. 0

"You noticed it too!" 0

Wang Chao looked at Jiang Liu's changing expression and revealed one last thing. After hearing this, Jiang Liu's face turned an unprecedented shade of pale, and his heart plummeted into an abyss. 0
