Darkness, the kind that can ensnare a person's very soul. 0

Silence, the kind that can drive a person completely mad. 0

"Hello! Is anyone there?" 0

Jiang Liu did not know when he had arrived here, nor how long he had been in this place. He simply kept walking forward, aimlessly, without any emotion. 0

Gradually, a faint light appeared in the deep darkness ahead. It seemed so insignificant compared to the vast blackness, yet it brought a glimmer of hope. 0

The once lifeless state of his heart stirred with a ripple as he slowly made his way toward the light. As he drew closer, a woman's voice reached Jiang Liu's ears. 0

"What do you want to do?" 0

"What do I want to do? That should be my question for you! Who are you?" 0

Another male voice chimed in. Listening closely, Jiang Liu felt a strange familiarity in it, but no matter how hard he tried, he could not recall whose voice it was. 0

"What are you talking about? Of course I am—" 0

Before the woman could finish her sentence, her voice was cut off, replaced by a series of muffled sounds, as if someone had grasped her throat and silenced her. 0

At this moment, Jiang Liu remained in a haze. Upon hearing the voices, he instinctively wanted to rush over and see what was happening and who the two people were. However, strangely enough, no matter how fast he ran, the distance to the light remained unchanged; it did not shorten at all. 0

"Stop pretending! You’re not the real one! I’m not that fool; I sensed something was off from the very beginning." The male voice paused for a moment before continuing, "But it doesn’t matter now. I’ve already figured out who you are. I’m curious to see if you will resist." 0

Before Jiang Liu could fully process the boy’s words, he suddenly felt his feet give way beneath him, as if he were falling into an endless abyss. 0

"Jiang Liu! Jiang Liu!" 0

In a daze, Jiang Liu heard a familiar voice calling his name. Slowly, he opened his eyes and turned towards the sound, realizing it was Lin Feng. 0

"Lin Feng, what's up?" Jiang Liu's mind was finally coming back to him. 0

"The class is over! You've been sleeping until now!" Lin Feng replied helplessly. He found it hard to understand why someone like Jiang Liu would sleep during class; wasn't that a waste of time and a waste of the hopes his family had for him? 0

"Oh, class is over," Jiang Liu said, glancing around at the classmates packing their books. Teacher Mei was no longer at the podium, so he turned to Lin Feng and said, "Let's go." 0

Seeing Jiang Liu like this, Lin Feng shook his head and chose not to say anything. After all, he had only just gotten to know Jiang Liu and felt awkward about it. He could only pack his own books and prepare to head back to the dormitory with Jiang Liu. 0

Just as Jiang Liu finished packing his books, that unsettling chill returned, but this time it wasn't as terrifying as before; it merely made him shiver involuntarily. 0

He quickly scanned the room for the source of the chill and finally fixed his gaze on a female classmate. Just as Jiang Liu had felt that cold sensation, she happened to pass by him. 0

"Strange? Why do I feel like I've experienced this sensation before? And isn't there supposed to be no supernatural events happening right now? Why does that girl give me such a ghostly feeling?" Jiang Liu thought to himself as he watched her leave the classroom. 0

"Jiang Liu? What are you daydreaming about?" Lin Feng asked curiously when he noticed Jiang Liu staring blankly at the classroom door after finishing packing his books. 0

"Huh? Nothing, let's go," Jiang Liu said hastily, clutching his books and urging Lin Feng to move. Seeing Jiang Liu's demeanor, Lin Feng decided not to press further and followed him out of the classroom. 0

In the last row of the classroom, someone watched Jiang Liu's departing figure, lost in thought. 0

Late at night, Jiang Liu lay in bed, gazing at the starry sky outside the window. The stars twinkled playfully, like a mischievous child winking at everything on Earth. 0

What is going on? Why did that chilling sensation come from that girl? It seemed only I could feel it! 0

As this thought crossed Jiang Liu's mind, he recalled the discomfort he felt earlier that morning when Teacher Mei took attendance. Yet, no matter how hard he tried to remember, everything was shrouded in a hazy fog—indistinct and unreachable. 0

While Jiang Liu pondered what was amiss, the girl who had emanated that cold aura was experiencing a terrifying scene. 0

Her name was Xu Ya, a girl who loved reading. After class, she had come to the school library alone and found a book to read quietly. 0

Time slipped away unnoticed, and when she finally emerged from the world of her book, she realized there was not a single person left in the library. Checking her phone, she saw it was already past eight in the evening. 0

She felt puzzled. Why was no one calling her to leave at this hour? And how had she not noticed everyone else leaving? 0

Not thinking too much about it, Xu Ya stood up to return the book to the shelf and leave the library. 0

The sound of her footsteps echoed loudly in the quiet library. 0

As Xu Ya located the shelf for her book and prepared to put it back, a faint sound of sobbing suddenly reached her ears—intermittent and unclear. 0

Is there still someone left in the library? 0

Xu Ya wondered but decided against investigating further. After placing the book back on the shelf, she intended to leave. 0

However, as she made her way out of the library, she noticed that the intermittent sobbing grew increasingly clear. Listening closely to its direction, Xu Ya realized that the crying was coming from right around her. 0

"Ah." 0

Xu Ya sighed. Originally, she didn't want to get involved in such matters. Although she was a model student, that didn't mean she was completely oblivious to the world around her. She understood that this kind of situation was simply about being dumped or doing the dumping. However, with the sound of crying echoing around her, she couldn't bring herself to ignore it. 0

After making her decision, Xu Ya slowly walked toward the source of the sound. 0

When she reached the third bookshelf ahead, she confirmed that the crying was indeed coming from behind it. Listening closely, she could tell it was a girl who was crying. 0

Xu Ya thought to herself: It seems like another girl has been dumped. 0

Knowing it was a girl's voice eased her mind a bit. As she walked closer, she gently called out, "Classmate?" 0

As soon as her voice rang out, the crying stopped. Xu Ya guessed that perhaps the girl hadn't expected anyone else to be in the library and felt embarrassed upon realizing someone had heard her tears. 0

Xu Ya slowly moved around the bookshelf to peek inside, but she found no one there, which struck her as somewhat amusing. 0

"Classmate, don't hide. I can hear you. We're all girls here; there's no need to be so scared." 0

Xu Ya tried to make her voice sound as gentle as possible; she had plenty of experience dealing with girls who had just been dumped. 0

At that moment, a faint sound came from just two bookshelves away. 0
