Horror Chapter
She remembered! She recalled where she had felt that gaze before!
That uncomfortable, jealousy-inducing stare was exactly the same one she had sensed on Lin Road last night! Just as unsettling, just as fearsome!
Panicking, she looked around frantically, trying to figure out who was spying on her!
But all around her were only the white tiled walls, nothing else!
Now she regretted not calling the others from her dorm to accompany her to the restroom; otherwise, she wouldn't be feeling this terrified.
Her body trembled with fear, and she wanted to stand up and leave this place immediately, but her body refused to obey her commands due to extreme terror. After several failed attempts, tears streamed down her face uncontrollably.
Suddenly, she remembered something that had happened before going to bed last night.
Back in their High School Years, there had often been strange noises coming from the girls' restroom in their dormitory at midnight. The girls in the dorm believed the restroom was haunted and no one dared to go alone at night. Eventually, this matter was reported to the School Leadership, which dispatched several Female Security Guards to patrol the girls' dormitory at night. For a while after that, the restroom fell silent.
Just when everyone thought it was all over and the school was preparing to send the Female Security Guards back since nothing had happened for some time, on the last night of their patrol, strange noises echoed from the restroom once again!
A few brave Female Security Guards tiptoed cautiously toward the restroom. Upon entering, they discovered a man fiddling with something inside.
One of the Female Security Guards recognized what he was holding and immediately realized it was not just anything—it was several Mini Cameras!
This revelation infuriated her, and instantly a group of them rushed forward and apprehended the man.
Later, they learned from some teachers that the man was a male teacher at the school who had installed numerous Mini Cameras in the girls' restroom. The noises heard at midnight had been caused by him taking out his cameras.
As this memory faded away, Jiang suddenly wondered if someone like that male teacher might also be sneaking into the girls' restroom at night with hidden cameras.
While this didn't explain that unsettling gaze, combined with the shadowy figure she had seen in the adjacent restroom—whether male or female—the possibility seemed very high! At least it was better than letting her imagination run wild.
As soon as she thought about it, Jiang's fear vanished, replaced by a surge of anger. However, she quickly calmed herself, realizing that she was alone in the restroom. If she screamed now, it might scare the person away, but she might never catch this disgusting individual again.
So, she deliberately coughed a couple of times, hoping to let the person outside know that someone was still in the restroom.
After coughing, Jiang listened intently to the sounds around her and found that there was no response. This brought her some comfort, but the feeling of being watched still lingered.
Could it be because of a hidden camera?
Jiang thought to herself and began searching for possible places where a camera might be hidden. She scanned the area thoroughly, even checking the floor, but found no sign of a camera.
How strange? There’s nothing! Where could a camera possibly be hidden?
Suddenly, Jiang remembered one place she hadn’t checked: the Flower Panel!
With that thought, she quickly looked up at it, but what she saw next completely stunned her!
There was nothing on the Flower Panel; just the white wall paint and nothing else.
What truly terrified her was the figure appearing on the door panel next to her!
A horrifying head with disheveled hair was staring at her with its bloodshot eyes—she didn’t know when it had appeared!
At that moment when Jiang locked eyes with the ghostly figure, the lights in the women’s restroom suddenly went out!
In that instant of darkness, Jiang finally understood something.
Why hadn’t she seen any shadows through the crack in the door earlier? Why had she felt like someone was watching her since she entered the restroom?
It turned out that from the very beginning, the ghost had been quietly watching her from behind the door!
A few seconds later, the lights in the women's restroom flickered back on!
However, the restroom where Jiang Liu was had long been empty, and once again, silence enveloped the space.
In the early morning, Jiang Liu woke up from his dreams, jolted awake by a throbbing pain in his head that felt as if he had been drinking heavily.
Rubbing his temples, Jiang Liu looked at the sunlight streaming in through the window.
In his hazy memory, he recalled that he seemed to have had a dream last night, but now he couldn't remember its content.
As his mind gradually cleared, the dream became increasingly indistinct until he could no longer recall anything about it.
He didn't dwell on it; after all, everyone dreams, and forgetting dreams is a common occurrence that nearly everyone experiences. He shrugged it off and got out of bed to wash up.
The bell for class rang, and Teacher Mei walked in with her textbooks, instantly silencing the students in the classroom.
"Alright, class, it's time to start. I will take attendance now; when I call your name, please stand up!"
"Xu Li."
"Present!"
"Wang Meng."
"Present!"
"Great! All thirty students in our class are here. Now please take out your textbooks."
【Wait a minute! What feels off?】
Jiang Liu looked around at the other students in the classroom, counting the number of people. Thirty, exactly—no more, no less.
Yet, he couldn't shake the feeling that something was off. He nudged his deskmate, Lin Feng, and asked, "Lin Feng, how many people are in our class?"
"Thirty," Lin Feng replied, puzzled by Jiang Liu's sudden question.
Thirty people?
Jiang Liu recalled the number from yesterday and glanced at the others in the classroom again, confirming that no one was missing.
"What's wrong?" Lin Feng asked.
"Nothing, just curious. Pay attention to the lesson!" Jiang Liu responded.
"Oh."
What’s going on? Could it be a lingering effect from that last supernatural incident? He felt an unsettling sense that something wasn’t right.
He attributed his discomfort to the previous paranormal event; after all, he had experienced a blank period in his memory during that time. It was only natural to have some aftereffects. Shaking off the thought, he turned his focus to Teacher Mei's lecture at the front of the room.
Meanwhile, in a corner of the classroom where no one noticed, a student furrowed their brow as they observed everyone intently. Deep in thought, they scribbled the number zero in a notebook.
