Meanwhile, on the fifth floor, Wang Xing and the Black-Rimmed Glasses Man stood in the corridor, watching Liu Ming and another new student disappear into the darkness above. 0

After a moment of silence, Wang Xing spoke to the Black-Rimmed Glasses Man, "Let's get started. We'll search from the fifth floor down, one level at a time." 0

Upon hearing Wang Xing's words, the Black-Rimmed Glasses Man nervously swallowed hard and nodded hesitantly at the dark corridor ahead. 0

Before entering the Haunted Building, he had planned to follow behind others and pretend to search for bodies. He never expected that the old man Wang Xing would suggest splitting up to search. Now, by some unfortunate twist of fate, he found himself teamed up with an old man. 0

This was great; he couldn't even play a minor role anymore and had to push forward with a stiff upper lip. 0

Wang Xing silently observed the Black-Rimmed Glasses Man's expression of despair and felt a twinge of disappointment for the newcomers involved in this incident. It was laughable how naive they were. 0

He recalled his first encounter with a supernatural event; back then, who would dare rely on others? No one would think of merely tagging along during such an ordeal. Everyone fought tooth and nail for survival, and only a few managed to make it out alive. 0

Moreover, in a special mission like this one, it was likely that all the newcomers would perish here! 0

Shaking off these chaotic thoughts, Wang Xing turned to the Black-Rimmed Glasses Man and said, "Let's go," leading the way into the dark corridor. 0

They arrived at a classroom door. Wang Xing glanced at the number displayed on it—"1." He turned the doorknob but found it locked tight. With no other option, he approached the window and pressed his face against the glass to look inside. 0

Noticing some dark corners in the classroom that were obscured from view through the glass, he tapped on it and realized it wasn't very thick. He turned to the Black-Rimmed Glasses Man behind him and said, "Come on, help me kick this window open!" 0

"Wang Ge, is that really necessary? Since the door is locked, we shouldn't go in. What if something else hears us?" 0

The man with black-rimmed glasses nervously glanced around the dark environment, fearing that a terrifying ghost might suddenly emerge from the shadows to attack them. 0

"What's with all this nonsense? How are we supposed to know if there’s a body inside if we don’t go in?" Wang Xing said impatiently, commanding in a tone that brooked no argument. "Hurry up and come help!" 0

"Oh, okay." 0

"On the count of three, we kick the glass together, got it?" 0

"Got it. You say the word, and I’ll follow your lead!" 0

At this point, the man with black-rimmed glasses could only pat his chest in agreement. 0

"Ready! One, two, three!" 0

With a loud crash, the glass shattered under the force of their kicks. 0

As the glass broke, both men quickly pulled back their legs to avoid being cut by any falling shards. 0

Once they cleared the glass from the window sill, Wang Xing took out his phone and activated the flashlight feature. He leaned halfway into the classroom to survey the situation inside. Just then, the man with black-rimmed glasses, standing behind him, witnessed a horrifying sight. 0

As Wang Xing leaned into the classroom, a boy with an unusually pale face suddenly appeared! He was hanging upside down at the window, his two pitch-black eyes—devoid of any whites—staring intently at the now-frozen man with black-rimmed glasses outside. 0

Terror Boy stood naked on the windowsill, his skin a ghastly white, as if all the blood had been drained from his body by some instrument and then soaked in water for several nights, resulting in that horrifying pallor. 0

His pitch-black eyes, devoid of any whites, quietly stared at Black-Rimmed Glasses Man. Two slender arms opened wide in a gesture that seemed to invite a hug, while his crimson lips parted slightly, as if whispering "hug." 0

Black-Rimmed Glasses Man was so frightened that he screamed and didn’t even think to inform Wang Xing; he simply turned and bolted away in a panic. 0

Wang Xing, who was observing the classroom, was startled by the scream from Black-Rimmed Glasses Man behind him, nearly dropping his phone. Just as he was about to turn around and ask what was happening, the light from his phone swept across a corner of the classroom. A figure dressed in white stood there in the dark corner, sending chills down his spine and enveloping him in fear. 0

The difference between the old and the new could be clearly seen at that moment. 0

An elderly person who had experienced several supernatural events typically wouldn’t show panic when faced with sudden situations. 0

So when Wang Xing witnessed that bizarre scene, he didn’t react like Black-Rimmed Glasses Man, who screamed and then ran for his life to escape the terrifying classroom. 0

He struggled to suppress his own fear and wanted to call out to the already distant figure of Black-Rimmed Glasses Man. Unfortunately, he could no longer see him; all he could hear were hurried footsteps echoing from the hallway. 0

With no other choice, he shone his flashlight back toward the corner where he had seen the strange figure. 0

There was no white ghostly shadow, not even chairs or desks—everything seemed as if it had been a figment of his imagination. 0

After searching around for a while without finding any bodies, Wang Xing pushed down his fear and silently felt regret for Black-Rimmed Glasses Man as he disappeared from sight. 0

One good deed is enough! 0

He had grown too lazy to look for the Black-Rimmed Glasses Man. Before entering, he had warned the newcomers that the most foolish thing to do when encountering a terrifying phenomenon was to lose one's mind and flee in panic, as this would only hasten their demise and make it easier for the ghost to pick them off. Yet, it was clear that some newcomers still did not heed his warning, as they would panic and run at the first sign of horror. Even if someone helped them the first time, what about the second or third? Ultimately, they would still meet their end in a supernatural incident. 0

This was also the attitude many veterans held towards newcomers: they would only lend a hand at the beginning of a supernatural event, but after that, it was up to the newcomers to fend for themselves based on their own performance. 0

He scanned the walls around him with his phone but found nothing terrifying—just emptiness! He couldn't understand what had scared the Black-Rimmed Glasses Man into a frenzied escape. 0

After calming his fear, Wang Xing displayed a unique composure characteristic of veterans and continued toward the next classroom. 0

Meanwhile, on the other side, the Black-Rimmed Glasses Man was desperately running downstairs! 0

He needed to get out of there, away from this terrifying Haunted Building! 0

Mission gone! Bodies gone! 0

"Let you all die; I just want to escape! Escape from that terrifying ghost!" he shouted repeatedly in his mind, his footsteps growing faster and faster! 0

What he didn't realize was that after running halfway down the stairs, he still saw no end in sight! 0
