“Hey! What did you guess?” 0

Li Lin's voice was filled with surprise. He hadn't expected Jiang Liu to figure out the hint so quickly. Although he hadn’t heard him yet, he believed that Jiang Liu was not the type to speak without confidence. At that moment, his respect for Jiang Liu grew even more. 0

If Jiang Liu could survive this supernatural incident, in time, his name would surely be among those at the top of the supernatural hierarchy! 0

“This is just my speculation,” Jiang Liu said as he gathered his thoughts. “Earlier, when the hotel imposed restrictions on us, it might not be as simple as just limitations. A comment from Jin Wanquan reminded me of this!” 0

“My comment reminded you?” The White-Collar Man's voice carried a hint of disbelief. 0

“Yes, it was your remark about how the restrictions might involve ghosts that sparked my realization!” Jiang Liu replied. 0

Li Lin then added, “So you mean to say that what Jin Wanquan said could very well be true!” 0

“Exactly. Let’s assume we’re not the only ones who entered the hotel. What if a ghost followed us into our room?” Jiang Liu recalled the contents of the note and continued, “That would mean the ghost is also a resident of this hotel. Since it resides here, it must abide by the hotel’s restrictions; otherwise, it would be expelled or even erased!” 0

“Based on what you’re saying, that possibility is quite high!” Li Lin agreed with Jiang Liu's perspective. 0

“Then the hints follow suit!” Jiang Liu said confidently. “The first hotel restriction states that each person must occupy their own room. This means the ghost must also have its own room! In other words, we have a ghost neighbor in this hotel!” 0

“Damn! Can you not scare us like that?” The White-Collar Man felt goosebumps all over after Jiang Liu's statement. 0

“Don’t interrupt Jiang Liu!” Li Lin scolded the White-Collar Man, who fell silent afterward. 0

Jiang Liu continued, “The second hint states that no one is allowed outside for more than zero minutes at night. If a ghost truly resides in this hotel, then I believe this rule applies to it as well! It cannot stay outside at night for more than zero minutes either!” 0

“You mean to say that ghosts can’t stay in our room for more than half an hour?” Xu Qian chimed in at that moment. 0

"Well, actually I have another hypothesis," Jiang Liu said. 0

"What hypothesis?" 0

Everyone was puzzled, but they admired Jiang Liu's intelligence even more. Just from a careless remark by the White-Collar Man, he was able to deduce so much information, which strengthened their confidence in overcoming this supernatural event. 0

"This is just my guess; I don't have much evidence to support it," Jiang Liu prefaced, preparing them in case something happened later that proved his speculation wrong and caused their morale to collapse. 0

"It's fine, we’re listening. If there's anything wrong, we'll point it out," Li Lin replied. 0

"Actually, I think this zero-minute mark not only represents the time when the ghost can freely roam but also indicates the time frame in which the ghost can kill! In other words, the ghost needs zero minutes to kill us," Jiang Liu recalled why the ghost had saved him and Li Lin when they were on the second floor. "This idea came to me when Li Lin and I were lost on the second floor, and the ghost led us out." 0

At this point, Jiang Liu paused as if contemplating how to clearly explain this matter to everyone. It wasn't until others began to show impatience that he spoke again: "If we assume that the ghost really needs zero minutes to kill us, then when Li Lin and I were on the second floor, for the ghost to kill us, it would need zero minutes. After it killed us, it would have to stay outside the room for more than zero minutes due to needing that time to kill us. This would violate the hotel's rules, and it could potentially face punishment! So the ghost needed to lead us out of the second floor!" 0

"Your hypothesis has some contradictions," Li Lin pointed out a flaw in Jiang Liu's reasoning. "If it truly wanted us dead, then the ghost could simply let us perish on our own without saving us. If we hadn’t left the second floor and exceeded zero minutes, then the ghost wouldn’t need to lift a finger to kill us! There would be no need for it to lead us out only to kill us afterward!" 0

"This is easy to explain," Jiang Liu smiled. "Weren't you saying earlier that violating the rules has serious consequences? We can infer that if even one of us breaks a hotel rule, then a dead end will be triggered for everyone, including the ghost! This explains why the ghost led us out of that terrifying second floor!" 0

"What about Liu the Great's disappearance?" Xu Qian asked. "What if Liu the Great died outside the room?" 0

"I think that's unlikely. Personally, I believe it's most probable that the ghost killed Liu the Great!" Jiang Liu looked at his luxurious room. "It might be because Liu the Great discovered something, like a ghost's room or some kind of punishment related to a dead end." 0

"What about the third restriction?" Li Lin wondered if the three restrictions represented three clues! 0

"As for that," Jiang Liu said with uncertainty in his tone, "to be honest, I'm really not sure. I'm just thinking whether this idea is due to my obsessive-compulsive tendencies making me feel compelled to come up with something." 0

Despite their fear in such circumstances, everyone couldn't help but chuckle at Jiang Liu's words. 0

Jiang Liu shrugged helplessly, unsure of who he was addressing, and said, "For the third hint, I believe that the ghost's mission is different from ours, or perhaps it has an additional task!" 0

"What task?" the others asked in confusion. 0

"Our mission requires us to stay in the hotel for a week before we can leave. From the ghost's perspective, it might mean that it has to kill us by hand within that week! Remember, I said 'by hand.' This explains why the ghost saved us on the second floor but still intends to kill us." 0

"If it's really like you say, where do you think the ghost's room would be? This floor has no extra rooms besides ours," Li Lin asked. 0

"Actually, I've had a thought. Each of our rooms actually has an extra room!" 0

Jiang Liu's statement sent chills down everyone's spines. The idea that each person's room had an additional space made them fearfully glance toward their own bedrooms. 0

Li Lin looked around the entire room but couldn't identify where an extra room might be. However, when his gaze fell upon the large mirror, he suddenly had a revelation about what Jiang Liu meant. 0

The mirror! The extra room referred to was actually the reflection of each person's bedroom in the mirror. He had observed everyone’s rooms while they were white and noticed that their layouts were quite similar. Therefore, the rooms reflected in the mirror were also alike, creating an illusion of an extra room where the ghost could very well reside! 0

They had been misled all along; each person had a room number, leading them to subconsciously believe that the ghost's room would also have a number. But that was not the case! 0

A ghost is an inexplicable existence, and thus certain limitations imposed on them do not apply! 0
