Horror Chapter
"Should I go out or not? What if I can't make it back to my room in half an hour? But I also can't bear to go back alone!"
Liu the Great's expression shifted constantly as he glanced back at the room that filled him with an overwhelming sense of dread.
He knew he didn't have the courage to return to that room, and he certainly couldn't bring himself to step outside alone. He could only stand there, lost and confused.
"So everyone is gone! I'm the only one left! Damn it, no sign of life or death—where could they have gone?"
At that moment, he felt like cursing out loud. He was furious, angry that they hadn't called for him when they left!
If any of them, especially Li Lin, were to appear before him now, he was certain he would lash out and give them a good beating, demanding to know where they had run off to and berating them for their disappearance!
"What should I do? What should I do? Wait! The hotel has more than one floor! Could they have gone up to the upper floors?"
As he stood there in a daze, a flash of insight struck him—this possibility dawned on him.
"If they weren't on the first floor, then they must have gone upstairs! I need to find them; otherwise, I'm going to lose my mind!"
Resolutely, Liu the Great began searching for a way to access the upper floors.
However, after searching for a while, he couldn't find that damned emergency exit anywhere! There was only an elevator nearby, quietly standing open like a monstrous maw waiting for its prey to wander in.
He stood at the elevator entrance, watching as the doors slowly closed.
The fear crept back into his mind, and at that moment, his brain felt like a player constantly replaying scenes from the many horror movies he had watched in the past.
To make matters worse, the terrifying clips playing in his head were all those chilling moments where ghosts appeared in elevators!
"Damn it, damn it, damn it!"
Liu the Great cursed repeatedly, trying to pump himself up with this mantra.
What should I do? Should I go in or not? If I don’t go in, there’s no other way to get to the upper floors, and I’ll just be wandering aimlessly here. But what if I go in and encounter a ghost?
After a moment of hesitation, he finally made up his mind to take the elevator up.
What’s there to be afraid of! If you’re upright, you don’t fear shadows; if you’ve done nothing wrong, you won’t fear ghosts knocking at your door in the middle of the night!
"At worst, I’ll just be a hero again after eighteen years!"
He shouted this like a rallying cry as he stepped into the elevator and pressed the button for his floor.
The elevator doors slowly began to close.
In that instant, a woman dressed in red stood quietly outside the elevator door, her long hair obscuring her face.
Although he couldn't see the face of the woman in red, he could clearly feel a cold, malevolent gaze fixed upon him, emanating from the woman outside the elevator.
"Damn it!"
Liu the Great was so frightened that he stumbled backward until he hit the cold wall of the elevator. His heart raced violently, and he felt completely paralyzed by fear.
This time, he clearly saw the ghostly figure of the woman; he was certain he wasn't imagining things! There was really a ghost in this damned hotel!
Fortunately, the elevator did not open as he had feared; instead, it slowly began to ascend.
"Shit, this place really has ghosts!"
His emotions were spiraling out of control, his legs felt weak, and he gasped for breath. At that moment, all he wanted was to find Li Lin and the others; only then would he feel a sense of safety.
During this time, nothing happened. The elevator didn't suddenly stop as he had imagined, nor did the lights flicker out or did it ascend into some unknown space.
Everything felt just like a normal elevator ride—calm and steady.
The elevator came to a halt, and the number above changed from 1 to something else.
The doors slowly opened,
revealing a thick darkness outside, devoid of any light, resembling an endless corridor quietly awaiting the arrival of life.
"Hello! Is anyone there?"
Liu the Great stared into the thick darkness outside the elevator, and once again, fear crept into his heart. He hesitated to step out, remaining inside the elevator as he shouted towards the door, hoping for a response.
His voice echoed down the corridor, reverberating in the darkness.
Silence—deadly silence.
No one answered him!
As the elevator doors began to close, he felt a surge of frustration. He reached out to block the doors and shouted again.
"Is anyone there? If you can hear me, please respond!"
After waiting for a moment, the silence outside remained unchanged.
He finally gave up, thinking that perhaps no one was on this floor, which was why he received no reply. If there was no one here, they must be on the third floor.
This time, he prevented the elevator doors from closing and pressed the button for the designated floor.
The elevator began to ascend slowly once more.
The third floor was different from the previous one; the corridor outside was filled with bright light, radiating a sense of safety that put him at ease.
"It seems they are on this floor!"
Liu the Great stepped out of the elevator, his pace a bit hurried. He was eager to find Li Lin and the others; he had had enough of being alone and craved the warmth of a group, the comfort of a team.
In his mind, he began to imagine how he would complain to Li Lin about why they had left him behind, recounting the strange events he had encountered on the first floor.
He could almost hear their voices coming from a room somewhere.
Gradually, his urgent steps turned into a run as he dashed down the corridor towards the deepest part after the corner. A door swung open, light spilling out from within.
His heart, which had been racing wildly, now slowed its rhythm.
He let out a relaxed breath, a smile returning to his lips. Even before reaching them, he began to loudly recount the terrifying experiences he had just faced.
"Hey! I found you! How could you leave me behind? Do you even know what horrifying thing I just encountered?"
His voice suddenly cut off!
As he looked into the scene inside the room, it felt as if his heart skipped a beat.
What was in that room?
What had he seen?
The vast hall was filled with tables laden with food, and there stood an extremely conspicuous large black clock!
He had somehow returned to the hotel lobby!
In a panic, he turned to look behind him, only to be astonished to find that the door that had been there moments ago had transformed into a massive revolving door.
This was insane! He couldn't escape!
Liu the Great's mind was in chaos, fear crashing over him like a tidal wave.
No! He had to escape, he needed to get out of here immediately!
The thought echoed in his mind, urging him to leave quickly!
He turned and bolted for the door.
Once outside the hotel, he randomly chose a direction and ran desperately. He didn't even know where he was heading, but as long as it was farther away from that cursed hotel, it was good enough!
The chilling winds howled around him in the mountains, and the darkness surrounding him grew thicker, gradually closing in.
