"Who I am doesn't matter to you right now. My presence is merely to remind you that some things cannot be forgotten just because you wish to forget them. Once you participate in this game, there is no way to escape!" 0

"What do you know? Tell me!" Jiang Liu shouted anxiously at the Trench Coat Man. 0

The Trench Coat Man looked at Jiang Liu's desperate demeanor, a dangerous smile curling at the corners of his mouth as he regarded Jiang Liu with mocking eyes. "Sometimes, I really can't understand why someone as weak as you can rise above us! If you live, we live! If you die, we die!" 0

The Trench Coat Man raised his slender right hand, slowly and inexorably reaching for Jiang Liu's throat. Time seemed to slow down suddenly, and all Jiang Liu could do was watch as that pale, elongated hand loomed closer, every detail of its palm becoming clearer. 0

When the Trench Coat Man's palm made contact with Jiang Liu's throat, it began to tighten gradually, effortlessly lifting him into the air as if he were a fragile chicken. The expression on the Trench Coat Man's face twisted into something more ferocious. "Do you know? Every time I see you living carefree outside, I feel an overwhelming rage and want to kill you! Have you forgotten her? Have you forgotten the vow you once made in your heart?" 0

"What are you talking about?" 0

Suspended in mid-air by the Trench Coat Man's single hand, Jiang Liu found it hard to breathe. He struggled to escape from the grip, but the Trench Coat Man's hold was too firm, like iron forged into place. 0

As breathing became increasingly difficult, his face began to pale. The Trench Coat Man continued to gaze at the struggling Jiang Liu with a fierce expression and a tone filled with malice. "Do you know? If it weren't for the other personalities holding me back, I would have torn you apart already!" 0

"But thanks to your performance over the years!" the Trench Coat Man sneered. "If it weren't for your behavior making the other personalities unable to stand it any longer, they wouldn't have let me out to have a little chat with you! At this point, I actually owe you a thank you! Because of you, I finally have a chance to breathe fresh air. Heh heh! The outside world is truly wonderful; even the environment isn't so monotonous!" 0

"You bastard! Why do you care how I live?" Jiang Liu thought of the Trench Coat Man before him as nothing more than a lunatic! 0

"Look! What a fragile personality! The other Sub-Personalities and I are baffled—what happened years ago that made you so weak and pitiful, like a miserable dog?" The Trench Coat Man spoke like an addict rambling about things Jiang Liu couldn't comprehend. 0

Uncertain whether it was due to the excitement of the Trench Coat Man or some other reason, his once iron-like hand began to tremble. Jiang Liu noticed this and struggled desperately. Finding the struggle uninteresting, the Trench Coat Man simply flicked his wrist and tossed Jiang Liu aside. 0

As soon as he was freed, Jiang Liu stumbled backward several steps, eager to distance himself from this abnormal man. He finally pressed against the wall, feeling a sense of safety, and explained to the Trench Coat Man, "I don't understand what you're talking about! And I don't even know you!" 0

Jiang Liu attempted to clarify with the Trench Coat Man, but was interrupted by the man. 0

"Oh, I almost forgot that you are no longer the Master Persona from years ago. Now you are as pure as a blank sheet of paper. I'm just curious what this blank sheet will eventually become!" The Trench Coat Man suddenly feigned realization. 0

"This must be a dream! Just like the last two paranormal incidents!" Jiang Liu exclaimed. The previous supernatural events had also been imperceptible, and coming to this conclusion made him believe he was currently dreaming and unwittingly participating in some kind of terrifying game. The words of this somewhat dangerous Trench Coat Man might very well be a hint. 0

"I suddenly don't want to talk to you anymore..." The Trench Coat Man was left speechless by Jiang Liu's statement. Just as Jiang Liu pondered where this hint might be, the walls around them began to shake. 0

"Is it time already?" The Trench Coat Man looked around at the trembling surroundings with a hint of regret. "It seems my actions have overstepped their bounds, ending things prematurely." 0

"Remember! You can never escape its control!" 0

The buildings around them shattered like a mirror suddenly broken, and darkness lurking nearby surged toward him like a flood. 0

When he opened his eyes, Jiang Liu found himself asleep at the counter. The pot still simmered with Spicy Hot Pot, though there wasn't much left. The water bubbled vigorously, and wisps of white steam rose from the pot. Everything was calm; no one entered the shop, there was no Trench Coat Man, and no nonsensical chatter—everything that had just transpired felt like nothing more than a dream he had conjured up. 0

Here it comes again! What on earth is happening? Why has such a dream suddenly appeared? Is this yet another hint, suggesting that the terrifying Death Game might reemerge in the near future? 0

Having experienced such events before, Jiang Liu's fear was no longer as intense as it had been at the beginning. He could convince himself that everything happening was merely a dream, a nightmare born from his disdain for the mundane reality of life. Years of atheistic scientific beliefs had left him with a final shred of insistence regarding the bizarre and terrifying occurrences happening to him; after all, every time it happened, it was in a dream. As long as it didn't manifest in real life, there was no need to jump to conclusions! 0

Gazing out at the empty street through the glass window, a thought of being isolated from the world resurfaced in his mind. The last time he had such an idea was during his first encounter with a nightmare, but this time, the thought felt more pronounced and frightening. He dreaded the possibility that such thoughts could become reality—what would he do then? 0

Lost in these thoughts, Jiang Liu slowly drifted back to sleep. Fortunately, this time no chaotic dreams invaded his slumber. 0

The night passed quietly, and when he awoke, the first rays of dawn were streaming through the glass, casting light upon his face. He glanced back at the clock on the wall; it was already past five. In half an hour, Nianxia would come to take over his shift. Jiang Liu hurriedly washed his face, scrubbing away the oiliness that had accumulated from staying up late. After tossing last night's unfinished Spicy Hot Pot into the trash and packing up what remained to place outside the store, he sat at the counter, waiting for his happiest moment of the day. 0
